IX had such a good storyline all the way til the fourth disc, then it just got stupid, and quick. This was probably the most random final boss fight ever... it was just like hey, we know we haven't mentioned this guy in a single time the whole game, but he's your final boss, have fun. Ugh, but really, at least it was more challenging than fighting a huge deer tick at the end of FFX. I mean what an upset that was.

It's safe to say that almost every Final Fantasy boss, for whatever reason, is tremendously easy to beat. The hardest ones to beat are the extra bosses. (Emerald/Ruby Weapons, Ozma, Omega Breaker*)

Easiest way to beat Necron is, collect 30 dark matter from auction house in treno, no matter what level you are, and what party you're using, just use Haste, Protect, and Shell, and use "dark matter" every turn (every character)

it just take 20 to 25 dark matter to kill necron.

This is bizarre. I remember when I fought Necron, I kept going "Omega Blue. What... nothing happened.... status? ...what the hell did that do..."

A bit too luck based boss if you ask me. Can be a joke at times, but if you get really unlucky with grand cross he can wipe you out in an instant since you can't protect against all status effects such as death (unless the attack is scripted to avoid extreme cases of bad luck in some way).

As for Yu Yevon, while it technically IS the final boss of ffX, it was only there to give the story a proper ending that made sense.

Actually, this is the only boss (to my knowledge) that can instant kill all party members.

When he did Grand Lethal i got hit by, Death, Death, 9999, 9999. Granted, it has only happened once, but then name an End-Boss which can instant kill a party with no chance of protection. You can't protect against Death, you can't protect against 9999 damage.

He make his first (and only) appearance in the game about a minute before you fight him... although he is not altogether out-of-place as the last boss, and is sort of the physical manifestation of everything you were fighting against the whole game so... yeah.

@ WeaponXSigma Wrong! If you wait and don't use Cloud's Limit Break and/or do nothing, Sephiroth will attack Cloud and kill him which means Game Over. Yu Yevon cannot kill the characters because they are on permanent auto-life. The only reason you "fight" Yu Yevon is for the sake of the story. Same goes with Sephiroth. Because that "battle" only happened in Cloud's mind. Safer Sephiroth is the real Final Boss in FFVII and Jecht in FFX.

@SC0R3B00T Wrong. Even if Sephiroth hits Cloud, it will only do 11/12 gravity damage to him, meaning that Cloud cannot die. And Cloud instantly counterattacks when Sephiroth hits him, killing him. There is no way to lose that fight.

Necron isn't that easy, he gets stronger as you get stronger. And personally I think he's the most badass final boss available. The thing with FF9 is that they went traditional again, not giving the bosses insane amounts of HP. Ozma can be beat in 6 turns.

I actually found Necron to be very difficult, I had every character level 99 and straight up kicked ozma's ass and I played with him! Then I decided to go and beat the final boss Necron again and got my ass served multiple times because he kept using grand cross, neutron ring, and counterd almost every attack I did! Damn did that piss me off!

And agreed yu yevon was and is the easiest final boss.

derp derp Jecht's final aeon form was the "final boss" of FFX. The fight with yevon was more so for the story than any sort of challenge. You had auto-life on your characters! Regardless, most Final Fantasy bosses are notoriously easy. So far the only one that gave me trouble was Chaos and that's because my party was level 40.

Ziamat from ff12 is the hardest most annoying boss in my opinion, but that's only because I faced him at lv75. Also Penance from ff10 is impossibly hard but at least you can instant death him if you have 10000000 Gil spare for Yojimbo.
