I am a fiscal conservative and I largely don't trust politicians, but I feel it would be more productive to criticize my party than to criticize someone else's party because I have more of an interest in my own party. I don't get the shit with being a cheerleader for your party. It is especially bad when it comes from the press because they are supposed to give you non-biased news.
