  • Great say from the master, "whats difficult is perseverance"

  • This was an inspiriation and tells me to continued to pratice this noble art as long as I may live

  • i don't care what it does or does not do. the beauty alone is well more than enough for me....

nothing like watching master dancers....what it's all about. too bad other dancers don't continue like these ones do. shame. Twyla Tharp.....lookit this! Your best is ahead of you! lol.

  • Interesting video. Thank you for posting this. Bill Moyers is certainly an interesting chap.

  • everyone's always bickering and babbling about martial arts, chi, it's existance or not...blah blah.

but the beauty of this in motion is undeniable. and that alone makes me a believer. an art, a dance, call it what you will.....that you can hone and practice for life that is good for you, like any other exercise or craft...

i don't understand what's so hard about that for people to grasp.

    thank you for posting.

  • I don't think anyone would ever deny that Tai Chi is beautiful or that it has a rich history (combat oriented - dim mak and health oriented). NO one would deny that this man is honorable and wise. Tai Chi Chuan's problems stem from it's practitioners who destroy Tai Chi by talking about superhuman strength, internal energy that heals all ailments, and argue Yen style over Chen style, etc.

  • @MAfanatic if u know Taiji at its highest level of attainment is related to Taoist practice of immortality, you won't say this

it is also based on theories of Chinese medicine which believe that by unblocking all our qi and blood channels there would be no ailment of any kind, what taiji does is by its flowing movement clear all the blockage in our body

  • @MAfanatic

dude, chi is just our life force

without life force energy, our bodies literally can't heal.

we depend on chi every day for our live and vitality. if anyone heals from an ailment, it's cause they have life energy to rebuild body.

medicine may help kill some stuff or fix part of problem.

but even then, without chi, the body still could not repair himself.

the problem with tai chi is a bunch of people who don't understand how it works are trying to explain it.

    thats's my 2c...

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • i'll do the sword style when i'm old and rusted

  • has anyone got any more footage of him?? (not just training stuff, but similar intervies etc)

  • I am over 40 years old now. So try to know how to use " KI" before I die !!!!!

  • :] im still really young but that's also my plan. i need to learn this before i die!

  • google robert bruce's NEW system. essentially the same thing. Feeling the contours inside of your body with your awareness. Our focus is usually kept behind our eyes, but it does not have to stay there.

  • I think the point of him sharing the time it took for his t'ai chi understanding to develop is to show that even though he is a master it didn't happen over night. Everyone's experience is different & some might feel the benefits right away, some might not. He's a master and it took him 10 years to feel chi....but he stuck to it. But thats just my humble opinion

  • 难的在什么地方? 能够恒心. - very inspiring words about tai chi from Master Ma.

    Thanks for posting

  • u Dun need 10 years to discover qi >.>

everyone have qi,a product of ur mind. the purer ur mind, the acupoints will be opened faster and qi will increase. u can clear ur mind with meditation=)

  • 10 years to discover chi and 30 years to use it... and thats with the best teacher! Considering that, and seeing so many talking about feeling chi in the first lesson is pretty daft!

  • Grand master Ma is demonstrating The Wu Style Fast Form that I am learning from my teacher in Temple City ,California. This fast form is the origin of the Wu style 108 slow form which is more popular to the general public.
