  • Happy Kissiversary Liane , My dearest sweet love ! You are truly wonderful !

  • "I see your face in every flower (a rose) -- your eyes in stars above" -- I sang these lyrics today (Wed. Dec. 21, 2011) as I held a balloon release in very loving memory of The Darling of My Life -- My Love Eternal -- My Resplendent Western Star -- My Wife, Barbra Rose. I hope I am with you in Heaven very soon, My Love.

  • @mickeymousebiker1 thats so beautiful.....i hope i find love like that once

  • @debster9612 Many thanks. Keep hope alive with a lot of prayers and an open heart. Heaven will bring you who you need and desire. My Barbra was Heaven-sent. She still is. No one will ever take the place of My Barbra --my Alpha and Omega True Love. Though she has been in Heaven since Nov. 2010, My Barbra still holds the ONLY key to my heart of hearts. I wish you much love, joy, and happiness in 2012 (and beyond).

  • I started playing fallout 3 when it came out.

  • What happened to the world?

  • Oh, my! Give me a moment to catch my breath before I return to Earth! ; )

  • ANNA!

  • "I see your face in every flower (roses) -- your eyes in the stars above -- the very thought of you, My Love" These lyrics are sublime. My Heavenly-resplendent wife, Barbra, will always live in my heart and mind through those lyrics. I dedicate Nat Cole's version of this wondrous song in very loving memory of my late wife -- The Darling of My Life -- My Barbra Rose. Nat Cole's voice breathes true life, and love, into those lyrics. Every time I hear this, I catch a glimpse of My Barbra and Heaven

  • @mickeymousebiker1 I pray for you in the sorrow that you fill at your lose. Thank God that you were able to have such a precious love of your life. The great joy of love does bring such great sorrow at the parting. I pray and hope that the memory of what you had, substains you through till your able to come together again.

  • Nice very nice....

  • He had the most Amazing Voice .... !!! King is very Apt... Romance is never lost with Nat King Cole playing....

  • cant help but to love Nat King Cole.

  • His voice is "unforgettable!" Nat Cole was, and is, King Tone!

  • Over Thanksgiving weekend 2011, I rediscovered this sublime tune. The lyrics: "I see your face in every flower -- your eyes in stars above," will FOREVER remind me of The Darling of My Life -- My Heavenly-Resplendent Wife, Barbra Rose. We were were together for only two years. I pray you can hear this from your rose garden in Heaven, My Resplendent Rose -- My Western Star -- The Lighthouse of My Soul -- My Barbra. Barbra Jean Rose Ragan (June 23, 1967 - November 21/22, 2010). Amour ad finitum

  • @mickeymousebiker1 Your true love to your wife Barbra so beautiful. Hope she have a beautiful live in heaven and so you are here.

  • @321dhs A million thanks! My Barbra was (and remains) the Darling of my life. She alone possesses the key to my heart. God gave it to her on November 15, 2008 (when we first met online). I searched the world-over to find a love like Barbra's. I'll never find it again. I hope to be in Heaven with My Barbra someday very soon. I dreamt that I was with My Barbra, Forever, in Heaven, this coming Christmas Eve (2011). May Heaven bring you love, peace, and joy this Christmas time 2011.

  • @mickeymousebiker1 You are very welcome. No, you're never find a love like hers. But, you must go on with your lovely live. Hopefully you will find a person who cares and makes your days a great day, forever. (GBU - greeting from Indonesia)

  • @321dhs I will relegate the rest of my life to writing and travel (whenever possible). I will dedicate my work to the very loving memory of My Eternal True Love -- My Rose of Heaven and Earth -- My Western Star -- My Wife, Barbra. A joyful and Merry Christmas 2011 to you (and to the world)! Heaven keep you always!

  • @321dhs My Barbra was (and remains) The Darling of my life (here and in Heaven). Barbra possessed the rare gift of bringing a bit of Heaven into my life. My world will never be the same without My Heavenly-Resplendent Rose -- My Eternal Love -- My Barbra. I wish I could be with Barbra (in Heaven) this coming Christmas Eve 2011. A Joyous and Hopeful Christmas 2011 to you! Heaven keep you, always!

  • Not sure how you "dislike" something this wonderful...Ok, you may not like the style of music or some other aspect, but "dislike"? Really?

  • You are right about falling in love back then with Nat King Cole ....it was also dangerous because you could also fall for anyone standing in front of you when he was singing...his voice was and is magical!

  • The very thought of you makes me forget everything. Nothing else matters.

I love your smile. I love all of you. Forever.

  • I discovered this great song after watching "Home for the Holidays." It is the closing song over the montage of family photos. Love!!

  • @jorkat88 that movie led me here as well....

  • I'm the biggest Nat fan, but I really feel like Bilie killed it better. She had the heartbreak down...

  • @lxsfulford Well it can be interpreted in different ways. With Billie, you feel the pain and heartbreak of a kind unrequieted love. With Nat, you feel the romance, as he remenisces about the one he loves. Both versions are exceptional in their own way. Ella's version is also a masterpiece.

  • what a soulful voice. its not racist, im half black.

  • Oh !!! His voice, Is so beautiful.

  • 6 dislikes! What are these fuckers....DEAF???

  • I agree... music plays to the heart and so many in the 40's and 50's knew exactly how to sing to play on your heart strings. Not so today. Frank, Tony B, Dean aka Deano, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr. Perry Como, And the list goes on and on. They knew and some still alive today still know how to sing a phrase. And they didn't have to shout to do.it.

  • I feel as tho I was there!!!!! He just seems to speak to my heart !!!!!

  • loveeeeeeeeeeee nat king cole christmas songs....they always give me the holiday spirit <3

  • Nat King Cole's voice, total perfection a half a century+ later...

  • this man woz the best

  • He takes me straight to heaven every time I hear his voice...

  • he has such a gorgeous voice that sweeps me away into a mystical world of dreams and love no'one can beat his style.

  • If I could sing like Nat, I would sing this to you every last day of my life!

For now, always thinking of you, I sing it to myself!!!

I adore every thing about you my love!

    FB

  • jamesmith9 this mans voice was like silken threads i have met him and he came back to our hotel after a show in Sydney and sang without music and it made no difference he was a real artist and lived just to sing. however there is another modern singer you might like with a lovely voice his name is Charlie Landsborough and he has videos on utube have a listen to him singing "what color is the wind " a song he wrote when his friends bling child died age 6 years Charlie tours Aust in july 2012.

  • A good try but never be as good as the great Al Bowlly.

  • this is why we play these Sweet Standards--to keep the Juice & Magick flowing...yo'

Men:women who love the Old Style/Standards know how to make real love not this virtual dark vampyre madness---Real Men... play this for Your Beloved & watch her melt.......* Women smarten up & listen Up! you too! play it for HIM!! So nice!!!

  • Vary much inlove with this song, and of course with his voice -3

  • THANK YOU ~ EVERLASTING LOVE MAM NAMASTE

  • what a God given talent Nat had ,no such thing as beautiful music anymore :(

  • I Don't Anyone Could Match Such a Beautiful Voice And Lyrics...............

  • A beautiful time - when songs had genuine lyrics and genuine melodies. A good song will never grow old. Nat King Cole was often referred to as "The Best Friend A Song Ever Had"...that says it all. Nat, you left us much too soon.

  • I absolutely LOVE this song :D

  • his voice is like a hot knife graciously flowing and melting through butter!sends me off up into the clouds away from all the negative horseshit and childish assholes that spend there days commenting about horseshit!GROW THE FUCK UP get out of the house,up off your asses and get fucking jobs for your selfs!

  • This is one of the most beautiful recordings ever done... it takes me right back to being a child and hearing my parents play it on the "phonograph"....

    Thank you for uploading...

  • Capital Records was once called the house that Nat built. That's understandable.

  • amazing i close my eyes and i am somewhere 30 yrs ago oh my

his music will live forever never will get old

  • I'm listening to this at 09.30, October 2nd 2011. Cup of rich, dark coffee in hand. And a single tear.

    1,4,3.

  • unexplainable <3

  • i LOVE nat king cole, and im 13 years old. when people ask me what kind of music i listen to they expect me to say "pop" or "rap", immagine their surprise when i say "oldies love songs, like nat king cole :]"

  • @ZOMKcheezits Um, aren't you kinda young to be on youtube?

  • Nat had a voice like warm, fresh, butterscotch.

  • For my lovely mum ❤

  • music for the eternal romantic.....what a joy to listen to.... from a time when love prevailed......sing on Nat.....

  • Sue , the very thought of you, and I know why I am so in love with you xxx

  • Watched his show on tv in mono and his voice was still beautiful--lost way too early.

  • This is what you call Music not noise.

  • I've Just discovered the greatness of music out 1940- ....

  • YES! And Nelson Riddle. Henry Mancini was in the pack as well.

  • Capital issued some really stylish album covers on Nat. He got the same A-1 treatment as Sinatra, Peggy Lee, all of them over at Capital. AND there was Gordon Jenkins, billy May, and a who's who of conductors as well.

  • @NYVoice You forgot to mention Nelson Riddle, Capitol's greatest arranger and conductor.

  • @NYVoice Yes! Everyone looked so handsome, so beautiful. Shame people nowadays didn't keep the style. If we had, at least everyone could look upon another person with respect and dignity. (I'm referring on how people rather sag their pants, wear clothes that don't properly fit, women showing off far too much in public, etcetc)

Anyway, Nat definitely has great CD covers, I agree with you. :)

  • the man song like the feel of silk...

  • this is how a true love is supposed to feel and to "be"....

  • awesome music and singer.....we"ll gonna miss this kind of music and talent.....

  • I feel it would be a great deal easier to fall in love back in the 50's than it would now.. with voices like Nat King Cole serenading you

  • @Scrubstar6 Well said! The thought had never crossed my mind before. The Top100 nowadays could hardly be described as romantic.

  • One of the best voices in Jazz, also a great pianist who had a great quartet. What a great Era in popular music this was,so musical, intimate and full of Soul. Nothing wrong with romance brought in such a musical way, what perfect taste this man had, great these recordings are still around to enjoy, Vic.

  • man he has such a beautiful voice!!!

  • You'll never know how slow the moments go,'till I'm near to you

  • I am so honoured that i met his daughter Natalie - she took me to her show in Plymouth - it was the first time they used the drop down of her dad - i will remember that 4ever - so beautiful

  • I wish I could make time go back, just 24 hours. That would make the whole difference

  • for my new guy because I really dig him......

  • I can't believe I've never heard this song before, it's beautiful!!!

  • This is truly love song. Nothing thats out now even compares to this type or style of song. There arent even any singers that compare to Nat King Cole. I did see a guy on "America's Got Talent" that was pretty darn close.

  • i see you face in every flower !!! such sweet words to a beaautiful song

you have put a smile on so many faces bless you xx

  • So romantic! Brings my best memories back.Thank you.

  • If you could write songs like this today, songs that every singer wants to cover, you'd be King of the World.

  • Thumbs up if you heard this song on the nanny!

  • Ya Gotta Love Him. Great Singer and ice breaker!!

  • Masterpiece. That is all.

  • Beautiful. The very thought of YOU, Nat

  • My oh my they don't make music like this anymore when you hear this music you love the world and yourself more, this music leaves you feeling that you are walking in heaven.

  • @goldfishglass why not? haven't you heard Soulja boy tell 'em, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and Justin Beiber?

  • It's sad that they don't make music like this anymore :( being 17 people expect me to listen to "popular music" and call this genre "old rubbish" and I simply reply "at least this guy doesn't have a computer program singing for him" I love this style of music and will never grow tired of listening to it :)

  • @anton09guitar There is no smiley that can articulate how much I understand and agree with you

  • @anton09guitar I'm 17 too, and I know exactly what you mean. I've been told I have an old soul. :)

  • @anton09guitar You go Anton!!

  • @anton09guitar isnt this music just amazing !!! just timeless !!!

  • @anton09guitar Try Diana Krall

  • @anton09guitar high five bro!

  • @anton09guitar Good call, but... 17 year olds still use the word "rubbish?"

  • @Atrumlux In the U.K they probably do. My 16 year old cousin still says it (She's from the U.K also)

  • ONE OF THE BEST TUNES EVER CONCEIVED...TRUE LOVE WAITS FOR THESE MOMENTS! THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU...MY LOVE...

  • amazing .. the voice so much linda..

  • My father's favorite singer.

  • If I had a smidgen of this talent, OMG! I love to sing his songs to my wife and kids, she cries and the kids giggle, Thank You for the memories Nat, YOU are KING :P

  • Sung to perfection. Where are those beautiful songs? Where did they go?

  • cool..

  • Oh, Mr. Cole ♥ He had the voice of an angel.

  • Nat is STILL the king!!!

  • mmm....so sweet...the very thought of you makes me smile :)))

  • love it

  • love it

  • yeah oldgrumper--it IS sad in that way--young girls don't know what romance is anymore--just some time along with a guy in his bed who is tatted pierced and has DROOPY PANTS---sigh

  • @49jubilee oversimplified, come on, you grumpy...

  • @49jubilee

i agree it is so sad :( and sad that guys don't know how to treat or respect girls anymore either.... most of the guys not all of them.

  • Now you kids know what us 'old farts' are so sad and grumpy about. This is what we had and now we have GAGa and 49 1/2 cent !! Who wouldn't be regretting getting older ??

  • @oldgrumper There's also rappers such as B.o.B., Andre 3000, and the band Cake with the creative genius of John McCrea just made a comeback album. Chin up, old timer!

  • I love this song. It's so sweet.

  • what a talent , . . .

  • beautiful!!!! 1 of the best voices I've heard!!! sux that he had 2 go so soon.

  • Gee!!! isn't it romantic... the best version of this song... Nat I've been in love with you since I was a gal... :D

  • He had such a great voice, and knew how to use it in just the right way...

  • it gives me the shivers. Love it .

  • Very nice...

His daughter natalie did it justice as well.

    So detailed in lyric...

    Thanks.

    ;0)

  • ese Natalio que hermoso cantaba

  • Oh Nat, your voice is like a cozy, soft blanket that wraps me up in it's warmth whenever I hear you sing. Thanks for posting Catman!

  • I've listened to Al Bowlly's version..sorry..Nat's version is the ONLY version..it's pure magic..no one else can come close..period..

  • These vocals are uncomparable

  • @RedNileQueen Just the thought of that sickens me RNQ. And even moreso with such a dignified person as Nat. I'm as Caucasian as you can get..., at least on the outside. lol

  • @Truthasvictim It's true! Imagine the aliens are about to initiate their Death Ray and obliterate our planet. All of the sudden, someone starts piping Nat King Cole through their ship's intercom. "Abort mission! This species is worthy of survival after all!"

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel Cole is a nightingale, Bowlly a mechanical bird!

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel You are entitled to your opinion, though I disagree. The 2 styles are quite different.

  • @catman916 I couldn't agree with you more. I love both Al Bowlly's and Nat King Cole's versions, but they are completely different styles. Personally...I think Nat King Cole's version has more feeling, but as you said...that's just my opinion.

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel yeah, if your mind is stuck in 1930. Bowlly has a great voice for that time, but as far as emotion and style go (pretty f-ing far), Nat takes the metaphorical cake.

  • @mcdonoughi Yes, my mind is stuck in the 1930s, indeed. But maybe I just don't have as much feelings as you do - I'm German :D

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel

    Germany in the 1930s...hm :-/

  • @TheMintyMuffin Me liking Al Bowlly who was killed by a bomb attack on London...hm :-/ Me liking the Comedian Harmonists which were jewish...hm :-/ Clichés...hm :-/

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel

I'm not implying anything about you :-) But you left yourself open for that kind of comment. Many people have their minds stuck in that time, for very different reasons...

  • @TheMintyMuffin I think you can't combine something that good and something that bad. If you think as blunt as those people do, you have no access to the beauty of music like this :]

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel

I've heard both versions, and many others too, but it is NAT'S version that makes every pore in my body tingle with sheer delight! :)

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel Am i permitted to be a huge fan of both or am i required to pick a WINNER ?!!!!!

  • @iainr222 Dein Kommentar war einfach nur unnötig. Wenn du mich blöd von der Seite anmachen willst, dann doch bitte nicht hier - so dummes Geschwätz stört die Stimmung beträchtlich, du Pfosten. >:) :D

  • @MitStumpfUndStiel Pardon my ignorance dear sir,but i dont possess a German to English dictionary . Schools down here in Australia teach as a second language mainly Chinese, Japanese or French.

  • @iainr222 try google translate

  • @iainr222 i believe he said "Your comment was just unnecessary. If you want to make fun of me on the stupid side, but not here - so foolish chatter disturbs the mood considerably, you post" but thats just a rough translation

  • @HayroReech Thanks for taking the time to provide the useful info.
