i mean either 6th string or on 5th string.. ??

  • i got a question, why it does need to learn the major scale? and why you can step out side of the major there a a rules in major scale??

  • Very helpful . Many thanks. Any chance of showing some examples of how to use this scale in a solo? Oh Fsharp !!! Lost me

  • Hi,thanks for going slow and introducing the 2 types of G cord. You are simply awesome. Thanks for slowing down and making sure we get the fingers on the right string.

  • Great lesson. Thanks for posting this.

  • Your guitar lesson was actually very excellent. I wish you had a better video camera though... ha ha. I like the way you did it in 3 positions. Would you consider the a - f major scales as well? Thanks man...Von

  • great video, i really needed that second part broken down and thanks to you now i get it.

  • Is it me or does this guy have fingers like a spider? Dang those fingers are long!

  • thanks for the finger. 0:34

  • its also called E Aeolian..not G !!!

  • It would be better if you showed the first position, then the second position, and THEN showed how to link them. Not just show position 1 and then link it to a second position we dont even know :) Nice lesson tho

  • sweet tapestry in the background

  • Amazing video man, help me out a bunch!

  • Sorry! I'm a beginner :( I've been wondering throughout You tube and to my disapoiment I've found as many scales as songs ; Does it means that if I compose a song it has allready a new sacale? The million dollar question! if I compose a song , Does it have to be on a certain scale? or it has to stick to certain scale OR It has born! with certain scale? HHEELLPP!!!

  • No you don't have to stick with a certain scale when composing. You can step outside the key. There are no rules to songwriting. Just play what sounds best to your ear.

  • @ericolsonmusic

damn thanks! both of you clear my mind.! thanks a lot!

  • you're absolutely right there man! be creative and just express what u want and what is pleasing to ur ear

  • @josejuan61 in general, when composing, your song will already be in a specific key. so it is "born" into that scale. if you step outside your scale, you are running in what is called a diatonic scale. you may go from chromatic scales (major, natural minor, melodic minor, harmonic minor) to diatonic scales (using every step and half step) and back again seamlessly....if done right. try not to become overwhelmed by these words, take it one step at a time.

  • @josejuan61 get down your major and minor scales, which encompass your key, and then you may work into modes and diatonics

  • thanx a million that helped a lot, im just now learning chords

  • peace

  • Good stuff... ~S
