When this tune first came out, I painted the title of this tune on the sides of my Panhead's Sportster gas tank. That bike cost me a coupla girlfriends, hence, the song's title --Love Removal Machine. This one's up there with Move Over by Steppenwolf, Blood and Roses by The Smithereens, Don't Worry Baby by Los Lobos, You Make Me Real by The Doors, and The Real Me by The Who.
genre specific bickering is for wankers... like all the electronic music nerds, "thats not house, it's hard house". or "thats not drum and bass it's jungle 2 step tech step" yadda yadda yadda... shut up and enjoy a great band...
The Cult wasnt pure rock and roll, actually they weren't rock and roll at all. the Cult started out Post-Punk and then went towards hard rock in the late 80s
@MrGospelMan a little nitpicky there huh? this track would most definitely be rock and roll... as would most of the stuff on electric... i'm well aware of their roots...
@VanDoodah If that's the kind of shit you're doing, my advice is enjoy it while you can. Times like that don't last. I'm not saying life gets 'worse' but it'll never get much better. Enjoy, peace and rock and roll.

@Itsooz its actually the guys who dont get laid who go around saying "I bet you have never been laid" when in reality they are trying to compare themselves to see if someone else is actually more of a man then a pathetic fuckface like yourself
im only 10 and when i was 5 i ALWAYS sang BABY!BABY!BABY!BABY! (not like justin beiber!) love this song rock will always be my absoloute fav type of music!
In my opinion, all music, at its core, is 'worth' as much as any other. People just derive different pleasures from them, be it about the music technically, the atmosphere or attitude, or the sheer beat and motion. But I also think rock and metal, alongside classical music, has the highest averages overall, especially in terms of musicality.
This song is a great example of that; driving force, badass attitude, great lyrics, and fucking great musicianship. Class A, motherfuckers!
Classical and Jazz musicians are far better than metal musicians. Metal musicians get far too much credit for their shredding, which is basically a gimmick that can easily be learned and has little to do with actual musicality. I'm not saying that all metal musicians are bad, but the musicality in metal definitely is far overrated.
@Slay318 I wasn't talking solely about shredding, but you're right in pointing out I forgot jazz. My apologies.
My point was mostly aimed at composition, structuring of songs and albums (especially in progressive-oriented rock and metal) and overall musicianship, not just the guitars. In modern music, the most breathtaking songwriting for me is more often in metal or rock than in other genres of music (although I listen to jazz sparsely).
@RoivasUGO I don't think composition or song-structure in metal in general is that impressive. I can understand when you're talking about bands like Mastodon or Between the Buried and Me, but definitely not metal as an entire genre. I agree that I'd rather listen to rock or pop music, and a Sufjan Stevens or Patrick Watson composition will always do more for me than jazz or classical, but when it comes to individual musicality jazz is definitely the 'better' genre.
@ByrneBoy95 (01100110 01110101 01100011 01101011) you, you queer bag. AC/DC is the most classicalerist more amazing than anything band of all time. Sure Maiden and Priest are good but they is nutin comparificated to anything else besides maybe Van Halen. 1.)Van Halen 2.)AC/DC 3.)Metallica 4.)Guns N' Roses 5.)IRON MAIDEN 6.)Paul Gilbert 7.)Buckethead 8.)Megadeth
pbmp71@jasperbluto I know the chord progression is virtually the same and that applys to quite a few other tunes but we only have so many chords to work with!! I've actually been playing guitar for 25 years in several rock bands which I am currently in playing this particular tune. Just a matter of opinion dude. Cheers!!!
@pbmp71 You think I have no clue? I guess you don't play guitar, do you? The intros to both songs are THE SAME. They are played with a slightly different feel but they are the same chords. The same sus-2, root and 7 chords of the scale.
I'm 2000 years old and I'm posting this from the future. This song still rocks.

@RoivasUGO
Slay318 1 year ago
@Slay318 I wasn't talking solely about shredding, but you're right in pointing out I forgot jazz. My apologies.
My point was mostly aimed at composition, structuring of songs and albums (especially in progressive-oriented rock and metal) and overall musicianship, not just the guitars. In modern music, the most breathtaking songwriting for me is more often in metal or rock than in other genres of music (although I listen to jazz sparsely).
RoivasUGO 1 year ago
@RoivasUGO I don't think composition or song-structure in metal in general is that impressive. I can understand when you're talking about bands like Mastodon or Between the Buried and Me, but definitely not metal as an entire genre. I agree that I'd rather listen to rock or pop music, and a Sufjan Stevens or Patrick Watson composition will always do more for me than jazz or classical, but when it comes to individual musicality jazz is definitely the 'better' genre.

AC/DC should play a version of this tune!
LesGomez 1 year ago
@LesGomez AC/DC is the most over-rated band in the history of the rock 'n' roll. Listen to some Maiden or Priest for god's sake!

@ByrneBoy95 Not in history perhaps, but really. Outside of their biggest hits, they reuse the hell out of the same riffs.

pbmp71@jasperbluto I know the chord progression is virtually the same and that applys to quite a few other tunes but we only have so many chords to work with!! I've actually been playing guitar for 25 years in several rock bands which I am currently in playing this particular tune. Just a matter of opinion dude. Cheers!!!

darkwatch543 1 year ago
You have no clue, this song has no relevance to "start me up" by the stones. Guitar style is completely different!!!
pbmp71 1 year ago
@pbmp71 You think I have no clue? I guess you don't play guitar, do you? The intros to both songs are THE SAME. They are played with a slightly different feel but they are the same chords. The same sus-2, root and 7 chords of the scale.
