i am not criticising marver vs capcom 2, i bought the freaking game. i played it for a year; all im saying is that vf2 is fun because no one has a ranged attack he can keep you at bay with, and while you could land an infinite combo- there's ways to counter the opponent in vf2, in mvc2 you just sit and watch because there's absolutely nothing you can do
If you played the game enough in the arcade, You would learn how to use counter specials. When you do a hadouken with 2 Hp's, instead just do it with the assist, and it will counteer it, but takes away ONE special.

Ive been playing this game for 5 years, and i never used any of the top 4 untill about 2 years ago. I can agree that the foundation for understanding this game comes from understanding all the characters. Beyond understanding, it doesn't help you all that much. You said that jwong sucks? He just had a MM where he was playing Jill, Ruby Heart, Ken, and was restriced to only those char as a handicap. You dont handicap yourself and expect to win a tourney, especially a major one.

Ive been playing this game for 5 years, and i never used any of the top 4 untill about 2 years ago. I can agree that the foundation for understanding this game comes from understanding all the characters. Beyond understanding, it doesn't help you all that much. You said that jwong sucks? He just had a MM where he was playing Jill, Ruby Heart, Ken, and was restriced to only those char as a handicap. You dont handicap yourself and expect to win a tourney, especially a major one.

and you think playing with jill, ruby, and ken is a bad thing??? wheres your head at bro??? if hes so good at this game he should win any tournement with any character. a handicap is when your holding back someones limitations...a great player wouldnt have limitations. obviously, jill, ruby and ken limitited jwong, or so you say...maybe he won the tourny, but show me a vid to prove it. i've never seen him pick any other character except sent/storm/mag/cable.
