She helped him to express himself politically and to use his popularity for the good of humanity. In a way he made up for his comment and being more popular than Christianity. John loved Yoko and she loves him. It is interesting to hear how she thought at the time. They did do some great work for peace when they first got together. She helped him to express himself politically and to use his popularity for the good of humanity. In a way he made up for his comment and being more popular than Christianity. He used his popularity to show how to change the world for the good and Yoko was there at his side.

It is not a misleading video because, as I have said before, this comes from the master reel that the actual interviewers loaded into the tape recorder that day. I uploaded it unedited and in its entirety. In the video description it clearly says that John appears in part 4. I am done talking about this and I wish everyone would just build a bridge and get over it because it's not going to be changed, end of story. This is my last response on the issue. Live with it.

I also know all the stories about Yoko selling off John's belongings and Julian having to buy them back, I'm unaware how this is relevant to Woman is the Nigger of the World. In fact, I can't think of many male pop artists who were less overtly macho image than the Beatles. She's spent the remainder of her life selling off Lennon's personal items to major corporations and revising history to suit her own ends. She also managed and invested his money. John had been anything but capable of this iirc. If you watch his performances with her, he clearly encourages her to sing and perform with him. If you want to get into her "dragon lady" mind games, that's another story, although that often does come off as misogynist too

It is awkward though listening to it since this was the period when she kept asking for a divorce, but is speaking in present tense about her and John's strong connection. If John asked her for her opinion on a song (which there are recordings of), she gave it, much like anyone would if asked for their opinion. Anyway, not liking Yoko won't make you anti-feminism because I do believe she could be cruel (I believe Julian, how she was jealous of him b/c of Kyoko, and how she was afraid of Cyn), but I do believe that she made John a much, much better person. Hate her for some things, but not others?

Regarding Yoko being in the studio, people act like she was another "Beatle's wife" and should have been bored to death in that setting. On the contrary, she was a musician and an artist. They had parties in the studio all the time. Men hung out in the studio all the time. Yes, even though John "permitted" Yoko to be there, she shouldn't have taken it to such extremes when there was clearly animosity.

I am at 725 of this interview and this woman is a total bore. How she kept Lennon's attention is beyond me. Lennon was sharp as a fu*king tack and funny as hell. She is shrewd to be sure but still a bore. And she laughs at her own remarks but trouble is she isn't funny!!!!!
She didnt go on the Bermuda trip because she was having an affair.

Sex and drugs. Really. initially, the sex was (according to John) amazing, but later post-1975 any kind of physical acts of affection (let alone sex) were few and far between. People comment on my videos all the time about how "John was his own man." and he "could have left her if he wanted to, he was his own man", but people don't understand the dynamic of their relationship. He really was powerless because she trapped him and preyed on his insecurities to keep him from leaving.

@NeilFraudstrong I have been studying, for lack of a better word, this relationship since it first became public knowledge. I agree with your take on it. Other people who agree/agreed with you would be Aunt Mimi and John's sisters.

May Pang has said as much. Why do you think he left to go back to Yoko? Because he hated his smoking habit and felt like a failure for not being able to quit on his own. Yoko said she had a "magical" treatment to quit smoking and John bolted. People need to realize that codependency is not love.

Thanks Neil ....I'm so glad that someone like you with so much research about John tell some truths here. Nobody realizes that Yoko was a witch. She was an intellectual that used magic (white/black) to get what she wanted. She introduced John to a lot of that. Also, John speeches were filled with a lot of contradictory ideas.He would change from one day to another. Also, he was a bully with words. There's a lot to understand to get into the truth of J and Y.

Another stellar comment. I read over comments on various videos from time to time. John contradicted himself ALL THE TIME and it's like people don't want to admit it because they think it makes him look bad when it doesn't. Elton John used to poke fun at John's wealth and property holdings by singing, "Imagine five apartments..." John replied, "Oh bugger off! It's just a bloody song!" Things John said and did in public were vastly different from things he said and did in public.

John also professed atheism (or, at the very least, agnosticism) in public, but in private he was a very religious and philosophical man, albeit a member of the religion/philosophy of the month club. It goes back to my theory about John which is one of searching. He was searching for purpose to his life. He didn't look at The Beatles as his purpose, he was always searching for something to validate his own life. He was searching for security and safety out of guilt and insecure feelings.
