Players like this have talent yes, but their dedication, drive and workload ethic are equally as awesome, if all of us had the dedication and put the same practice time in most of us could get 75% of the way there and that would satisfy me.

Killer(electric)guitar player for sure,but on this video i don't hear a real Bluegrass guitar technique,tone and sound too.His approach on the acoustic is completely wrong in my opinion.

I would like to see him burn an electric guitar fretboard.

it's crazy how good his technique is, most of the time you see a country guitar player who's practically grabbing the whole neck with his thumb but johnny does a pretty good job of keeping it behind the neck a good bit of the time

I grab the whole neck with my thumb, so does hendrix, srv, and countless other amazing players I have seen. I don't think there is such a thing as a bad technique. If it works for the player, then its good.
