@dboyz0123 No. If you check out my channel, you'll see I have a J-pouch now. I have over 20 videos explaining how it works. I only had my ileostomy for 6 months.
I too have had a few blockages. After drinking alot of fluids, and massaging my stomach with no relief sometimes I have had to go into emergency. They had given me a shot of demerol and within about 1.2 hour, everything started moving again and I was back to normal.
I had an ileostomy about 3 months ago. About a month or so after surgery I had a blockage which was caused by adhesions (scar tissue). It was agony and I was rushed back into hospital. Thankfully it cleared without the need for further surgery after being nil by mouth for a few days and having a tube up my nose and down my throat into my stomach to drain it and ease the pressure on my bowel. Luckily I haven't had any problems with food blockages
I got no large intestine-only had 2 blockages in 15 years-its nuts that do it to me-I think they get mashed up into a solid mass then it gets stuck. Still, others got it worse than me -I've been very lucky.Keep on keeping on bro. :)
i would just like to say thanks you very much for your videos, i have an ileostomy and have had for a year and a half now, although i feel iv accepted it well i still kinda feel a bit strange about it but to see other people like yourself talking about it reminds me that im not alone, thanks again!
I came across your videos when searching about Crohn's because one of my good friends has it.. Just wanted to say that I think your videos are great. As someone in the nursing profession, its interesting for me to hear about your experiences from a patient perspective, since I don't typically have a chance to talk to patients after they go home.
do you still have your ileostomy?
