@ivanzbuddy Yeah so sad he's In the Michigan Music Hall of Fame? Thou Jack Scott Is Canadian from Windsor! He considers himself american since he became an american citizen and foremost considers himself a detroiter even more than a canadian!!
I was 13 when this record came out and it was playing the first time I ever held a girl dancing the slow dance....I was in heaven. All these years later it's still great,
thanks for uploading. Glad to hear Jack is still with us.
First 45 i purchased was this. I played it over and over and over some more flipping it over needless to say countless times as well And then With your love, followed by Goodbye Baby, three GIANT tunes of 1958 You were my fav artest back then and still rock in my book .
This has been one of my all-time favorite songs, & I just love what you've done in your video. What a treat just to sit back & watch & listen. Thanks peppopb.
In my Nightingale flight last night...flying over memory lane and all of those special places...incredible joy filling my little bird heart...and everything was beautiful again....because it always was!
JACK SCOTT ALMOST SINGLE-HANDEDLY KEPT ROCK / ROLL TOGETHER DURING THE ALMOST 3 1/2YRS THAT HE HAD 19 OF THE GREATEST HITS THAT HAVE EVER BEEN RECORDED. DURING THAT TIME, ELVIS GOT DRAFTED(2YRS) AND IT WAS NOT CERTAIN WHEN HE GOT OUT IF HE COULD STILL SELL THE WAY HE DID BEFORE, LITTLE RICHARD WENT TO SEMINARY SCHOOL, JERRY LEE, CHUCK AND ALLEN FREED GOT IN BIG TROUBLE WITH THE LAW AND ROCK/ROLL COULD HAVE DIED IF NOT FOR JACK. IT'S INEXCUSABLE THAT HE'S NOT IN THE ROCK / ROLL HALL OF FAME.
I WOULD BE GREATLY REMISS IF I FORGOT TO INCLUDE HIS MIGHTY AND HARMONIOUS GROUP, "THE CHANTONES". WHAT A GREAT MARRIAGE. THIS SONG IS A STUNNING EXAMPLE. I DONT KNOW HOW I COULD GIVE A GREATER COMPLEMENT THAN TO SAY, "THEY WERE THE EQUAL TO THE FABULOUS JORDANAIRES".
no such thing is true love.. there is one women out there for someone. and why would anyone waqnted to pray to the Lord for someone to love.. ain't gonna happen bull crap..
Thanks for this upload peppopb a classic from Jack and a great production. Can you tell me who owns the lovely face (second one in) at :18.... almost as magical as the song ! Keep up the good work (pictures and music)
This is the best video I've ever seen on you tube. There should be some kind of a rating system or award. Shows some real talent. I just kind of fell into it. What a good job.
This was a great make out song when it first came out. I know because I saw all kinds of boys and girls making out while slow dancing. Where was I? On the side lines just watching. LOL Oh well that was about 50 years ago.
gott in himmel, freud would love this one,all it needs is a touch more animation, and some furry animals,an you could post it on kinky garden and barnyard sites.Personally, might have bought too many flowers, kind of obscures the tasty morsals between.and then there was Raquel........
1958 i was eighteen, bought this on 45rpm backed with the "blaster" of all time "leroy!" used to play them on record changer plugged into the lightswitch--now i can let them blast thro' big speakers with big power--sound better than ever!
This song showcases the really great voice of Jack Scott...Just a beautiful song..I think i was about 8 yrs old when I first heard it....great song...
With the right management Jack Scott would be a household word today. He had good looks, style, and one hella of a voice. But, it was not to be. I for one think he was one of, if not the best, in his time.
@PhilipJamesPrentice ....Agreed!!....The big reason was TIMING....Elvis came along about the same time....Jack Scott was nearly his equal....but not quite.
Hey pep, I didn't know there were others out ther who treasure such rare songs. I have em all in my collection, but rarely listen to them all. It's easier to just listen to them on youtube.
What an era to grow up in. Wonderful music, great artists. Too bad the kids of today couldn't have a taste of yester year. Perhaps there wouldn't be the violence and disrespect for human kind that we all share today. Thank you for the posting.
@65patbill I commanded the 99th Ord Det (EOD) in 1972. We got caught in the Easter Offensive of that year and was all over the country. I commanded the 8th Ord Det (EOD) in 68/69 supporting the folks up in the DMZ in Korea. The media never mentioned what we had to do and were faced with.
@65patbill What!!? Your country is the vatican? Get the non-papist soldiers and their little brothers and sisters back home hooked on dope, and then leave Viet Nam with a papist government? The only "country" that protects is the vatican. SPURN THE MUSE!!
Being from the 50's and 60's era, I took all of this great music for granted and now I have come to appreciate what real talent and kick ass music is!
This is just another example of what great music used to sound like.Take me back to the 50's and 60's any day.I didn't know how good I had it then while listening to all these songs.I have this on LP,but thanks for posting.
I concur with you wholeheartedly. I suppose we took it for granted that this type of music would always be produced. Little did we know that the magical harmonies and tunes would degenerate to what we have today: noise that passes for music. I long for the sounds of the 1950s and 1960s.
@ronfosteronline The technical aspects may be exceptional, but artistically peppopb is missing the point. It's "My True LOVE" not "My True LOVES". Showing more than one woman is contrary to the lyrics.
I just read you post...I used to live in Roseville...now in Santa Rosa, Ca...sorry I missed that....the only thing I know about fraser is that Tom Edison once worked there as a telegrapher....if you like this music you should see my facebook site....

Jack Scott is still touring and still has that God given voice of his. Lives in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Jack has a show coming up in August in Michigan. Jack is a legend in his own time and one of the greatest singers we have ever had. Thanks Jack for the great music and all the memories.
Oh how I remember this.....a cool classic if ever there was one....I loved the music from that era..and I was so glad I was part of it...those days will never come back...oh to be able to turn the clock back.....thanks for the memory.

This is really great and I often wondered what happened to Jack Scott. I recall when I was a kid I'd sing this song while I did my chores around the house. Never forgotten and thanks for posting.
28 comments, and 33000+ views in over a year. Sad that soooo many are missing a great, REAL song. I first heard this in the late 70's on a tape my Dad's GF made. WOW was it all great. I have this song on my PC, CD, and my ipod, and my 3 year old daughter now sings it too!
as long as there are lips to be kissed love will never die or say bye as my eye will all ways blink and wink wink .skate over lips with lip stick to slide my lips against and steal a kiss for it is not a crime
