Mech Assault was a bastard game of the BattleTech universe and was sucky as all hell. They got a ton of stuff wrong in it.

Yes, for example you never run out of ammo, you don't lose criticals (it was that way in MW4, too), you simply move the control stick in one direction and you're going full speed, you can't figure out what the hell is going on in SP.
It's too grab and go. There's no customization whatsoever. The game was turned from mech "sim" to vehicle-based third person shooter.

The Sim is coming back. EARLY NOVEMBER 2008!. Sim is being rebuilt now and the mechs are also getting a face lift so they will look A LOT better now. Woot

The sim was open for a short time, but due to funding issues it was closed. I still have all the scripts, Models and everything if anyone out there has a sim they wish to set up them in. It's a very fun game actually. I also plan to package the entire thing up and sell it as a all -in-one battle system. IM Xxander Snook if you are curious.

By the way, the little white mech in this game is only 1L, so if you want to test this game, you can pick it up and try it out.

I had a lot of fun playing this game on sl. I'm amazed it translated so well. There needs to be some work done on the weps though. That and the Uziel overheats too easily :P but it rocks. Oh, and join clan Grey Wolf!

yup, Battletech and mechwarrior are the same thing. And unfortunately so is Mechwarrior.
