Sterling had a bad habit of putting low rpm motors in their sirens. Put 12 volts into this unit and it will sound like it should have from the beginning. No, it won't burn out the motor.
The model 20 was a mediocre siren. The model 30 was an excellent siren, widely used before the Q came out.
Should have that as your smoke alarm.

Love it! Especially the way the light refects off the kitchen sink :) Too funny!!
The siren is much deeper sounding with the siren light option. Maybe go for another 30 seconds for us siren freaks! Thanks for sharing!

I remember this siren(one like it) on an old '36 American-LaFrance latter truck(latter-4/Riverton Wyoming)...retired sometime in the 80s.
I did notice some power starve on your demo...needs more amps. tks.
