But a deadbeat man, as long as he's a man should be? Don't get me wrong, I'm not gay. And it is unusual but what does the word daddy really mean? A parent that is there opposite of the mommy to take care of the child. I don't mean to argue with you or to make you mad. Chances are they made that child call her daddy which yes is wrong. But is is it better for the child to call every guy she would bring home daddy? Since the problem is being confused, wouldn't that be equally confusing?

if the child feels like this other person seems like a daddy to them, and that is what they WANT to call them, then no I don't think it's wrong. The bigger issue is that the child needs to know that the person just isn't their paternal parent. Please remember that children are smarter than we give them credit for. You may not think they understand, but chances are they do way more than you could imagine. They just don't make it or see it as complex as we adults do.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. 9 times out of 10 kids don't WANT to call a girl a daddy, that is a TAUGHT behavior and frankly it's sick.
