  • Just.. wow. I'm speachless..

  • "These are the signs I bring to you to show you when the time is nigh..." I doesn't understand the codes of Michel de Notredame in all the decades of the book-market,but I understand Al's songs! He is this genius winner in this game (the song) and not the prophet. Thank's for posting, uploader!

  • @TheBodghaya108 - Very glad you liked the video. One of my favorite tunes and it also opens up the 70's Prog rock section on my music website. worldunitedmusicDOTblogspotDOTcom

  • Fantastic guitar work..

  • @Samjeno - Truly. 8O)

  • @Samjeno

  • Nostradamus also predicted 1,000 years of Peace. I hope they start in the lifetimes of our precious children if not our own. Great Song, Mr. Stewart. Thank you, 2Minstral for posting. Peace, All.

  • thank you for the coolest history lesson on earth Al

  • Great montage! Thanks!

  • He was opening for E,L,O when he was booed off stage at the spectrum "cause E,LO was 3hours late

  • @crankfire1 Prince was booed off stage when he opened for Van Halen.

  • love the tower of Babel- UN building - great video

  • i like these lines

Three leagues from the gates of Rome a Pope named Pol is doomed to die

A great wall that divides a city at this time is cast aside

because this song was written before Pope Paul was shot in 1980 and before the Berlin wall was torn down in 1989

  • Really funny

  • Who's 77 White? What an idiot. Awesome song -

  • 5 million marks

  • This was the first song I ever heard from Al and to this day I love it. I rushed to buy the album oh.. so long ago and to this day this can make me cry.

    Peace

  • Past, Present and Future...One of the greatest LP's of all TIME..

  • @siswebber THAT's true!

  • One of if not the best BRITISH singer/songwriter ever !

  • @reh1959 He's Scottish.

  • Amazing song-Nostradamus got all his phrophecy from Cathrine DeMedici, whom he served as personal advisor-the Evil Medici family always ruled the Vatican and world Banking. Remember to FIGHT the European Royals& Vatican led "One World Gov." -The next Roman Empire, Nazi 4th Reich, Rise of anti Christ, mark of the Beast, Luciferian's, Illuminati, New Knight's Templar's-all are the same "New World Order" who must use their Washington-Wall st. puppets to destroy-YOU and America.

  • MY CHOICE AS MONSTER OF ALL-TIME :The leader of Cambodia's Khmer Rouge, Prime Minister Pol Pot wasn't a very good guy (1.5 million Cambodians slaughtered in just 3 short years under his murderous regime)...Pol Pot made Hitler and David Rockefeller look like boyscouts.

  • No one could've predicted Obama, or his idiotic policies which are mostly responsible for the lowered the U.S. credit rating for the first time in history(from AAA to AA)....ya can't blame Bush for the whole mess cuz the Dems have controlled Congress for 4 years now and Obama The Messiah has been CEO for 2 and a half years.

  • this is absolutely one of the most beautiful songs to watch the stars on cloudeleven

  • 07/16/2011 was the 12th anniversary of a 460 year old poem about JFK Jr's plane crash; Century 10 ~ Quatrain 72: "The year 1999, seventh month, ~ From the sky will come a great King of Terror: ~ To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols, ~ Before and after Mars to reign by good luck." • whose the douche that didn't like this song

  • @maradonasublime I think it's rowdymax.

  • @minstral, Gilbert Gottfried is a funny guy. Thanks for being a sport. There's too many people on the interweb who take things too seriously, you know...

  • @skippyhapson - Ya, I Know, I Know, I Know!...lmao!!

That made my day, thanks for the laugh. 8O)

  • @skippyhapson amen to that.peace to every one,man women and child.mabey some day we will figure it out.

  • "I had a dream I was talking to Nostradamus and all he kept saying was, I know! I know! Iknow!...."

    -Gilbert Gottfried

  • @skippyhapson - LMAO! That was very funny!

  • @skippyhapson Variation on an old Woody Allen line: I bought a portable tape recorder, & as I talk into it, it says, "I know, I know."

  • Love this song, lots.

This must have taken you lots of time and effort to compile this. I like the way you try and get things in time with the music.

  • really nice video and editing.. Спасибо, Landis

  • Who is the person pictured at 6:20?

  • @herbgurl82 - The person at 6:20 is one of the biggest monsters the World has ever known, 'David Rockefeller'.

  • @2minstral Oh, okay. I thought it was someone involved with oil or something like that but not sure.

  • @herbgurl82 - Actually the Rockefellers own the majority shares in 1000's of corporations, including the oil companies. I made a 6 part video series called Road to Endless War that can explain everything that is going on in the World. It also goes into detail about who the Rockefellers are. It's really worth a watch if you have time..

  • @2minstral David Rockefeller is a Bilderberg Devil! The Anti-Christ if you ask me.

  • @2minstral senator rockefeller is a good and thoughtful senator , and is very much defending us from the corporate onslaught , the creed of greed , the koch bros , and thomas and scalia .

  • @Thadmotor1044 - Senator Jay Rockefeller wants to shut down Internet free speech. How is that a good thoughtful senator? The Rockefellers are at the top of the greed and power game through the Corporate and Banking cartels they sit on top of.

  • @2minstral There's no doubt that Rockefeller was a robber baron, but I don't think he's the greatest monster ever lived.

  • @thewriter1008 - Who do you believe is the greatest monster that ever lived then?

  • @2minstral So many choices...there was Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, who was a thoroughly despicable human being. Then, there was Osama Bin Laden, holding a grudge against an entire country and seeking to destroy it's people forever. Whoever's pulling the strings in Darfur has to be pretty evil. The common choice, of course, is Adolf Hitler. There's also the girls who put the whole Salem Witch Trial into motion, accusing people of witchcraft for, from what I can tell, fun. (1/2)

  • @2minstral There was also a young girl who was about 15; killed another girl (who, if memory serves, was eight.) just to see what it felt like. It also might be good to look up Jesse Pomeroy, another child killer who was probably 14 when he committed his first murder. There are also notorious serial killers, such as Ted Bundy and (if memory serves) Charles Manson, who had a psychological disorder known as anti-social personality disorder. I'm sure there's more, too. Take your pick. (2/2)

  • @thewriter1008 - The Rockefellers supplied both sides in WW2 and have been behind the push for a New World Order through the CFR. All Roads to Endless Wars start right there. Millions died because of shareholder profits, a rigid business position, and the lust for power through their greed. You might like to view a series called Road to endless war. It shows the rise of the CFR and who is behind it.

  • @2minstral I'm not an NWO believer and I don't even know what CFR stands for.

  • @thewriter1008 - Well thats your choice, but the quest for global control of all markets and monetary systems is a fact. Their objective is to create and control one currency used by the World. The CFR stands for The Council on Foreign Relations. It was created in 1918 after World War 1 to decide the direction of World business. There is a lot of information available on the internet. See video series Road to Endless War. It explains the New World Order and the CFR and the impact on our lives

  • Superb imagery. Worthy of very careful watching... and s superb song from a master! Bravo!!

  • A great song paired with sweet images...not pixelated like most attemped movie makers do.

  • @nat4flick - Thanks for the compliments, and for stopping by. 8O)

  • This song is epic! The scope is so vast, covering many centuries, and you infer between the lines that history repeats itself, just with a different cast--and that "as in war, the victor only _seemed_ to win." [from aa favorite book of mine].

  • @2012Bec - Thank's for watching. 8O)

    Have a great week!

  • I loved Al Stewart in the early 80s and could not remember his name but his music stuck with me for all this time. I heard him on the radio tonight and had to stop and cry for joy of having finally found him! I'm not the same any longer but this music touches me just the same and brings back memories of joy and pain...

  • @evawilhelm - I hear you. Al Stewart was one of many great artists from the 70's and 80's era that captured everyones imagination. I am promoting independent artists from today that bring back the sounds or further the sounds from that time on my channel and website called worldunitedmusicDOTblogspotDOTcom. I think you will like the music there.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and for sharing a moment. Have a great week!

  • @2minstral I hope you promote jamie notharthomas, he's a real hippie.

  • "the hand just rearranges the players in the game " sends chills down my spine,, so true

  • WOWWOWWOWWWWOW!Awesome video! Hard to keep such a long song going, but what great images and message.LOVE it!

  • @infinity4432 - Thanks for the compliment! Glad you liked it. Al Stewart is a great musician.

  • @2minstral - Incredible job with the images. I am a big fan of Al Stewart and Peter White. I met Peter once about 20 years ago, and told him he resembled Tom Hanks (which he did). He told me I looked like Chuck Norris (which I did at the time), and we talked and laughed as if we were old friends. What a great guy. I still have the picture he signed for me. Thanks for the post, it brought back great memories.

  • Bravo to which every artist created this home made masterpiece...Don't see many on here self financed with this kinda quality.

  • @billlodderhose1 - thanks for stopping by and for the compliment. Hope you have a great week! 8O)

  • I want to hear 'Swiss Cottage Manouvers' (sp) Why is it so difficult?

  • does any one have 'swiss cottage manouvers' (sp)? It is my favourite Al Stewart song.

Please post it if you have it.....

  • I think the 3 brothers actually refer to JFK, RFK, and Martin Luther King, Jr., as spiritual comrades.

  • the late, great folk singer peter bellamy's cover is the definitive version for me. but obviously without this, that version would not be.

  • I just saw him last nite in Annapolis with David Nachmanoff , awesome show . He didnt do this song. Great guitar playing in a small venue!

  • Fantastic, I've always loved Al Stewart but your video really made it something special.

  • @cattotti - Thanks so much for the support! Hope you have a great day!

  • This song makes me cry literally everytime I hear it. You owe me a box of Klenex...

  • @AlbeeSquareMall - LMAO

  • @2minstral Beautiful video you made, too. There's hope at the end and it brings relief, thank you :)

  • @AlbeeSquareMall - Glad you liked the video. 8O) Thanks for stopping by and for the support.

  • Great song and video to go with it!! Thanks

  • SLH have you played this album yet ? Ithink you will find it very thought provocing, catch ya later my dear.

  • JAN 2011......wow....today is the first time i have heard this song since 25 or more yeras ago.....when my guitar teacher introduced me to the artistry of Al Stewart. My teacher would play the accoustics to this selected piece, Nostradomus.....it is an unbelievable piece or art to be heard, but listened to....being that this song is based on the story of the writings of the Prophet Nostradomus......GREAT MUSICIAN.......GREAT ARTIST!!!!

  • Galway University 1982 when I got my hands on a live album that had this song and "the road to Riyadh" Listen to "Love chronicles" (all 18 minutes of what must be a saga in the history of music.)

  • WOW

  • Interesting comment at the end -- "The answer you seek lays in community". I cannot help but wonder if they mean Communion .. as in the global community that we in the Gaiene Communion are starting to build. Nostradamus is frustrating. He is clearly accurate, but at the same time he is wilfully meaningless.....

  • @GaieneCommunion Everyone 'hears' what they want to hear.

  • Welldone brilliant job with vid .I had this album when it first came out the sleave notes where very informative not to mention the songs and led to me having a life long interest in history.Cheers Tom R

  • Al Stewart is one of the best

    Hello to you AL

  • Walked into the store. Saw the album and bought it because of the cover. I thought there had to be something going on with this guy. Oh how true!

  • Exceedingly well done!!! One of Al Stewart's finest moments! Kudos!

  • @gplunk - Thanks very much! Have a great week!

  • Awesome job!! Big fan of Al Stewart. Just loved this video, it really went well with the song!. Kudos!!

  • @mikeonesti - Thank you my friend! Al Stewart is really great. I put a link to Al's official website in the video description if your interested. 8O)

  • And Led Zeppelin also says: "What is an what should never be..."

  • This is a different mix & version of this Al Stewart classic I like it though.

  • Thank you so much for posting this amazing song and beautiful video.

  • are all of these things referenced by Nostradamus?

  • Beautifully done Stewart, a real "blast from the past."

  • @jimmymac30 - Thanks Jimmy. 8O)

I love the old classic tunes. Brings me back to my youth. 8O)

  • not heard this in an age , wonderful song @)

  • open tuned classic.

  • omg...fantastic song. this is one of the first songs i learned to play on guitar (by ear) ...Summer 1975...good times.

  • I have this album, love it!

  • This ARTIST should really be honoured with a lifetimes acheivement.

  • Glad you liked the video. 8O) I posted a link to his website in the description if your interested. He is still very active and on tour.

    Have a great week!

  • @2minstral Thanks for that, i enjoyed the video. Prophetic or not, voodoo, or hoodoo, it's a statement about what idiots we are over the course of time. I guess we are pre programmed to be nasty to each other. Brilliant song though

  • Brilliant! I played this track obsessively in the 1970s together with Old Admirals, Love Chronicles, Amsterdam, Roads to Moscow and Modern Times. Al Stewart was a really under-rated musician. Thanks for this post.

  • Well done!!!! I was about 14 when this and Roads to Moscow blew me away. Thanks for the post.

  • @bowler3329 - Thanks for the compliment! Al Stewart is a great artist. I left the link to his official website in the description. 8O)

  • Anyone "just discovering" Al Stewart----welcome to a wonderful experience of the senses--------------------

Beautiful video, beautiful song, a mere snippet of the many lovely ones from his beautiful cd s. Real music with meaning and something to make us all listen??--oh,yes! lovers of "-rap" take note, lol!!

Heard--"World Goes To Riyadh"???? or "Roads to Moscow"???---well,do so now!--that's an order!!!

    K xx

  • @kbrowneyes - Al Stewart was one of the most under rated musicians of the 70's. I love his music.

Check out my website called World United Music. I am showcasing the best Indie artists and I think you will be pleased with some of the music. Thanks for stopping by!

    Peace!

  • @kbrowneyes Yes, Riyadh rocks! Anyone tired of much of current music like me will open wonderful new vistas listening to the awesone Al Stewart. Even his current work will blow you away!

  • @kbrowneyes Although I like Al Stewart, I have to disagree with you on the rap part: Half the people who make the declaration that hip hop/rap has no lyrical meaning haven't listened to much rap at all. There are a lot of good rap artists who put a lot of thought into the lyrical value of their songs.

  • @hazzystan I don't want to listen to someone speaking rhythmically to percussion music. It doesn't matter to me what is said, I just don't like the form. Bards recited poetry to a harp's tones but this as far as I know has never been done in the history of the world. It is a fringe movement that I don't believe will ever be embraced by most of the public. There must be more people who don't like it than do.

  • @quincannon40 He/she was attacking the lyrical value of rap, not the actual music.

  • WOW been years since ive listened to this song, i love it, thanks for posting it!!! Al stewarts nostradamus would have to be the hardest peece of music to find and near imposable to find on CD

  • @hotrodandy68 - Al Stewart was a class artist. Thanks for stopping by! Hey, check out the Indie artists I am featuring, There are a lot of great musicians out there that were inspired by the 70's music. Mainstream doesn't feature them but thats ok because the music has evolved around them and plays on the internet. Check out my website and radio features.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • "and you will have a choice to make...or vanish from the Earth you will..." Nostradamus (final chapter)

  • @ThisBoyTV - That is the message most forget. Well said. 8O)

  • A masterpiece, and may I say fantastic visual feast :) made my day.

Believe me, one day we will all see the big picture but not in life as Nostradamus did.

  • @fourmod001 - Glad you enjoyed the video. Al Stewart is a great musician and I don't think anyone could have picked a harder subject to sing about. He is a true minstrel and of course, Nostradamus was a great light for the ages.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • great work, doing justice to a great song and songwriter, THANks!

  • @THEladyguru - Thanks so much for the compliment!

  • Hitler, top row, third from right.

  • This is really nice to hear again.

Keep up the posting to You Tube...

    Thank you.

  • @LISTUNUP - Glad you enjoyed the video. 8O) Check out the radio show I have created for Indie musicians. There is a lot of great music there. 8O)

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • What a great video. Fits perfectly with the song.

  • @1danrobbins - Thanks so much for the compliment! It means a lot!

  • This received quite a bit of airplay during 1974...freeform radio still existed then, which is what allowed it to get that radip play. Now it would most likely be overlooked or relegated to college or listener-sponsored stations.Totally unique for its time (and as far as I know, noone else has written an extensive tune about Nostradamus. Who could possibly follow this up?). Past, Present and Future was Al Stewart's finest moment, and not just the music, but the album cover depicting Dr. Strange!

  • @MrJamesrnolan - I think you manged to sum it all up very nicely. Truly a great album! Hey, I have started a Website and radio program that showcases the best Indie artists and bands, you should stop by or check out the weblink on my page. I have featured 58 artists each with a 2 song feature. I am quite sure you will find some music you will enjoy.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • Nice..

  • Great Video---Great song from Al Stewarts Classic 1974 Album, "Past,Present and Future".........

  • @MrLCEntertainment - Thank Lee. 8O) One of the best albums from the 70's.

  • Al Stewart is truely a great story teller. His music is unique and very enjoyable to listen to. Thank you for posting this tune which is my biggest favourite of all Al's songs.

  • @kaladist - Thanks for stopping by! 8O) Two thumbs up for Al Stewart. 8O)

  • WOW ! What a brilliant video !!

A great complement to Al Stewart song.

    Thank you.

  • @ozzymandi - Thanks for the compliment my friend! Hope you have a great week!

  • ahh true english music what a beautiful noise..!!

  • i just you-tubed Al Stewart..found this video....it is absolutely fantastic " Orgasmic" even. Bloody great visuals to go so well to the track thanx for the experience, Kevnorev.

  • @kevnorev - Thanks for the compliments Kev, it means a lot. 8O)

  • What an incredible depiction of Nostradamus phropecies already having come to fruition which you portray so elequently in this video.

I particularly loved the ending depicting Christ's return.

    ~Ty Stewart
