Great work Gashaw for the environment & for the people! You are indeed a Green Hero! Great also in sharing the work of transformation & Landmark Education! I look forward to learning more in our journey together. Love, health, family, & happiness, Seth
Good job brother- Really your work is a very big one,,and not only for that land but for the whole world... The only thing in whcih I have doubt is the fact that you have not used autoctone trees... there are different type of plants typical for that area and altitude...Even if Bamboo trees are common also in ethiopia especaily in the south..
That was EXCELLENT work. We need people with vision who can see the future and engage others to make the vision come true. Africa is the richest and poorest country in the world. I am also planning to leave soon. I will see you on board. Bless you for your inspiritional endeavor.
He is doing a fantastic job repairing the damage that the USA did to Ethiopia! Imagine if all the American soldiers who go around fucking shit up were like him instead. Earth would be paradise!
This is how we will change the world. Change from a profit based society into a resource based economy. Share the resources. Automate the workforce. Eliminate money. Enlighten this world to its true power. We are all one.
waouh ! this is so great ! Thank you for sharing this strory ! I believe in Humanity ! I believe in me One two three, planet Earth FREE ! Peace, love & happiness
Man can sustain his life-giving environment and man can surely destroy the life-giving environment
So-called industrial revolution has been the biggest disaster to hit the planet in recent history.
Man natural diseases have been subdued, yes; but even more intractable man-made diseases and man-made substances have made things exceedingly worse; by polluting and poisoning Land, Water, Fire, Air & Space!
The general rule of earth is this. You cut off a part of the earth, it will cut off a part of you. You take down an ancient forrest, it will claim your children and lay waste to them. Those that think and contribute to this earth, the earth will contribute also. Simple rules, but man still continues to be fuckin stupid and greedy.
oh yes I forgot to mention that I was being liberal with my spelling and grammar. Maybe I should put an asterisk next to my comments and write a complete footnote about the fact to inform you. I will also mention that I really do understand if my misspelling has caused you grief in some way considering I lost my father to misspellings. Oh the humanity! The misspelling gestapo is out and they are loading misspellers onto trains!! lol
Take care either way, you were a good comic relief. :D
@LOLDISNEYLAND Comic relief? You thought my comment was funny? You got a low bar for humor then huh? BTW neither of your comments here have made any sence. Perhaps you need to brush up on sentence structure as well?
maybe you should pay for my home schooling then? I'm not forking out my own greens to learn how to satisfy you with my correct sentence structure.
Anyway, I hope you you find an occupation that is remotely relevant to someone. I think there are a few people on youtube who scrutinize grammar and spelling like it's their last dying wish. Go speak to them and masturbate over your dictionaries and victories of pointing out lax grammar capabilities in comments.
One problem that I have is that I don't have any money to get something started like this.
Money is always the reason, or there lack of, that prevents me from doing all these community and helpful actions. I can only hope that after I finish college and get my degree that this will change.
C'mon economy... get strong again so we can progress again!
Fantastic effort Gashaw! Ethiopia lost its riches and its land when it allowed itself to be deforested and allowed the peanut farms to cut down huge areas of land, to mismanage the soil, and to move on to new forested areas to cut down when the soil was damaged... re-seeding Ethiopia will restore this balance, and help the country become the verdant, prosperous country it once was. But let this be a lesson - let history not repeat itself ever again.
yeah, the only problem is they are planting non native species, so biodiversity is lost, besides tnon native species can produce side effects inother aniaml species, thus changing soil, so ok, ti better that eroded land, but still it is not sufficient.
What non-native species? If you are thinking bamboo, the Abyssinian bamboo is native to Ethiopia. I should expect he would plant native species for his native homeland.
@zaidaalida Ah, ok, sorry, if they are native everything is gonna be all right. You know, I am sort of suspicious sometimes, because in my country many times I have seen "reforestation" programan that replace primary forest with pines or eucalyptus, wich of course is not the same.
@TeoTanek I understand. That probably happens often in various places. =) Where I live, we have a few non-native plants from overseas. I think people are more aware about plants now. At least, I hope so!
@zaidaalida Yeah, because foreing species can change landscapes and endager native fauna and flora. Rats, cats, pigs and Goat for example are a big threat to island biodiversity.
Beautiful and touching, I am humbled. Who remembers the great little book(let) titled "The Man Who Planted Trees"? Wonderful, worth a quick read for an indelible impression in the spirit of this video.
@marzolian He educated the workers of the danger of deforestation. Hopefully people will learn and not cut all the trees for profit as not having trees will be a bigger problem that they are aware of.
@marzolian This movement will bring so muchjattention to the issue of deforestation that the people will turn to sustainability once they see how it transforms their country. The trees will be cut down again... and they will be replanted again, this time hopefully sustainably.
What you accomplished is really fantastic and can be motivator, it would be great to know what are you doing now and your addres. keep inspiring.
