  • It's a popular misconception (one which is convenient for a government happy to avoid doing anything). Connex just have a tender to manage the staff and maintain the equipment. Indeed, Connex could theoretically be removed by the end of '09. The long-term planning (infrastructure development, ticketing systems, etc) have always been the responsibility of the state government. Sadly, freeway lobbyists convince them to re-direct funds to dubious new freeways decade after decade instead.
