@JordonTheEskimo It wasn't only because he wasn't happy. The genre he prefers to perform is entirely different than that of FFTL. PLUS while in FFTL he was wrecking his vocal chords and needed to undergo surgery to fix it. But I do agree. People have to get over it, it's the past. What he does now is a hundred times better than anything he ever did in that band.
He has true passion in music, thus leaving a succesfull band and making music on his own that he actually likes making but not making a such huge name for himself. Also he is very good in what he does

no he isn't... his lyrics are much better than anything FFTL wrote... the SOUND he goes for sometimes is a little poppier but you have to understand the difference between the two genres thats just how it works, early FFTL was actually pretty poppy just not produced well enough to sound like it.
music can "sound" poppy and still have alot of depth... but all the silly fangirls will obviously only be into him because hes sexy as fuck and not because they have a true appreciation for the artform.
great observation i am glad sonny left, yes his music was great in fftl but he had vocal problems cause of straining and what not, he did what was best for himself and i think that we all should appreciate that and give him the utmost respect
and in case you haven't noticed, they recreate most of the electronic sound by using "real instruments" at shows.
and sonny's goal isn't to make millions, he likes the idea of having a music community so he contributes for that reason, otherwise he'd just produce this music for himself and not release it.

I'm not trying to flame everyone's opinons with this, so I'd appreciate no bitchy replies. But you people who miss Sonny Moore being in FFTL, you need to get over it. If Sonny Moore left FFTL, he obviously wasn't very happy in that band. Especially considering the difference between his solo music and FFTL. Yes, I liked Sonny Moore being in FFTL. But I think his solo work is even more amazing. Any fan of Sonny Moore would want what makes him happy. FFTL or no FFTL, we should still all love him.

@JordonTheEskimo It wasn't only because he wasn't happy. The genre he prefers to perform is entirely different than that of FFTL. PLUS while in FFTL he was wrecking his vocal chords and needed to undergo surgery to fix it. But I do agree. People have to get over it, it's the past. What he does now is a hundred times better than anything he ever did in that band.

no he isn't... his lyrics are much better than anything FFTL wrote... the SOUND he goes for sometimes is a little poppier but you have to understand the difference between the two genres thats just how it works, early FFTL was actually pretty poppy just not produced well enough to sound like it.
music can "sound" poppy and still have alot of depth... but all the silly fangirls will obviously only be into him because hes sexy as fuck and not because they have a true appreciation for the artform.

and in case you haven't noticed, they recreate most of the electronic sound by using "real instruments" at shows.
and sonny's goal isn't to make millions, he likes the idea of having a music community so he contributes for that reason, otherwise he'd just produce this music for himself and not release it.
