Somewhere in the history of media using a modulating sine wave became associated with outer space, and the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack uses it in many of its scores.

@drumerkoopa Sounds like a whistle pad, with some tremolo (the effect which gives it that "wouwouwouwouwww").

There are various pads, and taking from the ones in General MIDI, it sounds like the Bowed or the Warm pads. If you can find a Whistle pad, that's great too.

Even thought I said Warm pad, the sound used in this track has a sharp attack due to the fact that it's being used as a lead voice. It can't take too long to reach full volume.

It's very used in sci-fi songs.

Pardon me if I'm forgetting some titles, but those games were amazing! I wish they would make another Epic Donkey Kong Game. Such diligence.... the music is carefully composed.

Your wishing for the wrong people to make it. The epic Donkey Kong games (Country, Land, and 64) were made by Rare, a second party company. If you want an epic Donkey Kong game, then you want a Donkey Kong game made by Rare.

However, in 2002, Microsoft acquired Rare. Since Nintendo still owns the characters, Rare won't be able to make a new Donkey Kong game unless Nintendo reacquires Rare, or if Rare is allowed to make it for a portable Nintendo gaming system like the DS.

tell me about it. 3 times in a row, the wall kick fucked out on me (for some unknown reason) and i just kept getting up about halfway and falling into the lava.....god that daredevil comet sucked
