  • Great lesson, excellent for someone with only the most basic knowledge of PhotoShop.

  • Nice photo, so simple and so nice. God bless you.

  • thank you very much for this beautiful tutorial, you've been so clear and perfect! greetings from Italy :)

  • i was able to follow you until you posted the first pic in the top square, for some reason, when i transfer my pics to the little sqares, they seem to be on top of the sqare instead of inside of it. what am i doing wrong?

  • im working with cs5 and my ctrl shift v is not v=creating a layer i have noticed the other comments but i dont see a response

  • Hi!

I'm using Photoshop CS5 mastercollection, and I'm having trouble with this tut!

Whenever I use CTRL+SHIFT+V like you, I don't get the instant layermask effect.

I have used every layermask effect I know and I just cannot get the same effect as you:(

    Pls help me!

  • @KB8LA CTRL SHIFT V shortcut has changed in photoshop CS5 to Ctrl + Alt + Shift + V. Worked for me, hope it helps!

  • @tubepau - thank u. saved the day lol

  • If I understand it right, all you need to do is crop it with the crop tool before you bring it in to the collage.

  • I have a question I hope you can answer. I am using CS3 and I've only had it for about 20 hours, so needless to say I'm a newbie. How do I crop the main (largest) image once it's in place? Mine is off center and the background isn't solid like your is, so if I center it, it gets in the way of the 3 squares. I need to chop one of the sides so the image is centered. Am I making any sense? Thank you!

  • great TUT!!! Thanx

  • i followed every step but i cant get it right using CS5. i got stuck in the copying part to the top layer. mine doesnt make another layer with a mask and for some reason, free transform doesnt work. when i press ctrl shift V together, the pic doesnt go to the top layer but it covers the main pic. pls help

  • @thugpnoyz Im having the same problem. Did you ever figure it out?

  • Awesome Tutorial, has helped me greatly =:o)

  • Thank you!

  • cookbookluvr - I hope this helps, when holding the shift key down make sure you are dragging on the corners of the transformation box. If you clicking on the sides the image will still distort, even when holding the shift key. Again I hope that helps.

  • great video.

question though. i have a psd template that is one square and one rectangle.

i can not seem to get the rectangle image to not distort. i press ctrl t and and hold the shift key down but stii i get distortion.

i hope someone out there can help.

btw. your video was very good i liked how detailed ur explanation was. ty
