i was able to follow you until you posted the first pic in the top square, for some reason, when i transfer my pics to the little sqares, they seem to be on top of the sqare instead of inside of it. what am i doing wrong?
I have a question I hope you can answer. I am using CS3 and I've only had it for about 20 hours, so needless to say I'm a newbie. How do I crop the main (largest) image once it's in place? Mine is off center and the background isn't solid like your is, so if I center it, it gets in the way of the 3 squares. I need to chop one of the sides so the image is centered. Am I making any sense? Thank you!
i followed every step but i cant get it right using CS5. i got stuck in the copying part to the top layer. mine doesnt make another layer with a mask and for some reason, free transform doesnt work. when i press ctrl shift V together, the pic doesnt go to the top layer but it covers the main pic. pls help
cookbookluvr - I hope this helps, when holding the shift key down make sure you are dragging on the corners of the transformation box. If you clicking on the sides the image will still distort, even when holding the shift key. Again I hope that helps.
Hi there. Great tutorial. Could you tell me how you have listed the photos as 'tabs' in a row above? I can't seem to find this setting in my photoshop!
Great lesson, excellent for someone with only the most basic knowledge of PhotoShop.

If I understand it right, all you need to do is crop it with the crop tool before you bring it in to the collage.
