@B34TSLYREAPERxx Cheers. The key really is after the backswing wait until the lead climbs to at least 90 degrees of rod tip, then keeping arms straight rotate with hips and body until facing the target, then punch and pull. Only at the end to you give it some violence.
@djrmonix hi mate do you change anything for casting into a head wind as i fish the river humber and the sea defence walls are quite high and casting into the wind is real pain
@B34TSLYREAPERxx All you can do is use a heavier lead 175g or 200g, maybe lower the trajectory of your cast a bit, and more than likely if you are using a magged reel like the one used here, put the mags on full. Or maybe lower the line level a bit.
No problem. The generally accepted monofilament line diameters for tournament casting at least anyway, are minimum, 0.35mm for 175g & 200g, 0.31mm for 150g, 0.28mm for 125g and 0.25mm for 50g, 75g & 100g. And shockleaders, mimimum,0.75mm for 150g, 175g and 200g, and 0.65mm for 50g, 75g, 100g & 125g.

No wasn't a birds nest. Just a wee over run at the end because I wasn't quick enough to get my thumb on the spool. Easy to pull it out..

Hard to say how far. Casting with plain lead only, with a bit of tailwind so prob around 230m, maybe more, maybe less.
