try doing simpler lower rythms combined with simpler higher rythms, it takes a lot of practice, and you could always consider getting a loop pedal

Practice practice practice. I can't play both simotaniously either, but all it takes is lots of practice. Or, of course, you could just get the loop pedal if you want to have it easily, but that's not really accomplishing much as far as furthering your own ability.
