I'm still stumped why these new age corporatists became interested in librarianship in the first place. I think it is an insult to academic libraries for these know nothing MLS students turned managers to tell staff members that they need to learn the technologies when they often don't. I can't believe the bulk of this speech was about marketing wikis and incorporating social media into ACADEMIC libraries. Web and library 2.0 are meaningless marketing buzzwords spouted by the information poor.
Thanks for posting. Meredith Farkas is such an admirable library professional. I love 2.0 discussions, especially when it's regarding academic library settings.
This was an excellent presentation and I am very pleased that I was able to view it from my office. I am a library director looking into improvements for our library. Nice job.
Thank you very much for posting this video. I am a library director and exploring Library 2.0 resources as alternatives for improving our contact with the academic community. Completely agree with Ms. Farkas, there was never a Library 1.0 because it has been an ongoing process of development. I have been in this field since 1974 and have lived it.
Congratulations. We will be exploring examples suggested.
