I just moved from NY after living there for 3 straight years, the city does have its perks and I am going back to NY to work on the weekdays and go back to see my family on the weekend in the DC area.
I loved the city and I was one of the messengers you see on the street everyday. I work Manhattan and I have explored just about everywhere of the 5 Boroughs with the exception of Staten Island, I don't know that part really that well.
Who wouldn't want to live in New York? Its where everything happens! And you are so right, this city really never does sleep...there is so much to do here!
One thing I want to add. Nyers don't call the subway line the orange, yellow or red lines.
Instead we call them by the Avenue they are based of in Manhattan.
So the N W Q R are called the Broadway line.
1 2 3 are called the 7th ave line
ACE are called the 8th ave line and so on and so on, but good attempt.
