  • cute video - clearly gran and child have a loving relationship - at the moment I personally switch on and off my bedroom light, wash my hands so many times in the bathroom and am also trying to repress my other 'twitches' but have had mental repercussions as a result(I get more irritated and am more lethargic than before recently

  • I'm confused are the things that could have hurt his grandma really being stopped by his complusions or is that what he thinks is happening and he is stopping those thoughts through his actions?

  • i love this

  • lol the white guy

  • Please?!

  • Don't hate me too much!

  • Ok, obsessional cleanse time. I said about a year ago that my medical studies were curtailed, well they never even started! Yes I lied. Incidentally I did always wanna do this but OCD gets in the way of a lot of things, hope to apply to study medicine in the next few years, need to get some decent A-level grades first though I think!

    Sorry everyone.

  • naked! R

  • this is what goes on in my mind um if i step on a crack this will happen i cant stand it

  • cute :)

    good job.

  • This was a cute animation. I personally do not relate to it although I have OCD but I do not seem to connect my obessive behavior to external things. But I think there are many levels of OCD. I thinks its great you made this!!! Good luck to you!

  • a carrer in animation? well you have what takes thats for sure!

  • cute video coming from someone with ocd!

  • Question, how did he make his point "extremely well"??? This is not what OCD is about, he actually makes people feel like they have to complete their compulisons out of fear that they will hurt someone. Great point... I don't think so...

  • Well thats what ocd can be about. "the fear of hurting people you love if you don't (for example) turn the light on and off three times. The person in this short felt compelled to do so to make sure his grand ma was safe. And in this case his compulsions did in fact save his grand ma's life. Or did it's ?

  • HinchyFilms; What is your point? Do you think that compulsions in real life would have really made his grandma safe?! Thats the whole point of OCD, the fears are irrational, so the sooner they can be eliminated the better. This clip isn't conducive towards that elimination because an OCD sufferer watching it would believe those fears to be true!! Thats means their OCD continues or worsens.

  • Bobby it's brilliant, OCD is no laughing matter but you make youir point extremely well, don't be ashamed of putting your feelings and thoughts into animation, good luck in the future

  • This is a great video. It portrays what an individual with OCD feels and expects to happen. This video can educate those without OCD to understand what thoughts are tormenting a sufferer and what he/she goes through. Thanks.

  • Did you really think this was lighthearted??? I got sooo anxious watching this... it was like all my worst fears come to life!!! If you want to get OCD out there... another way would be better.

  • I think this is the worst video I have ever seen!!! I, myself flick on the lights in fear that something bad will happen and I feel such guilt if I don't complete my compulsion. I also would like to say that I agree with all of 58337934 comments. I think the creator should research about OCD before putting something like this up. It makes me really upset that people do not fully understand how bad this illness can be.

  • oh dude, l do that light thing too. that is so wierd. This is a great animation loved it completly, you have a lot of skill. <3

  • purely in terms of the ocd, maybe you could have had the real world and the sufferers obsessional world playing at the same time, just to show that they can't influence the fate of others but that thats what goes on in their minds. OCD is a funny thing and by seeing this it could make a person believe that what there ocd tells them is true.

  • also my graduation at med school was curtailed by my ocd, I am 24 and have to go back to complete the last stages.

  • Well I have OCD and I don't find this video offensive at all. I see the point he was trying to make. In my opinion this vid helps to make the OCD look all the more irrational. Do you have OCDs darwin16?

  • p.s no hard feelings.

  • If you really want to preach to someone about OCD search... Major OCD lady across from work

This guy is the one who really needs to be educated.

  • educated? so which medical school did you graduate from then? Mine was brighton by the way. Are you one of these idiots who has self diagnosed yourself with OCD or you got the real thing? Because I would surmise that you do not know anything about OCD based on the ignorance of your words.

  • sorry mate I thought you were saying that I needed to be educated! I realize you meant the guy in the other clip now...ooops! apologies for my verbal rant. Feel really harsh now. Anyway I was just trying to get across that this wouldn't be good for a checker in OCD. I also subjected it to pseudo emperical testing by showing it to some of my OCD friends who found it distressing.

  • I have OCD too. I'm not a classic checker, although my OCD was so severe a few years ago that I bypassed the 18 month waiting list to get treatment within 1 month of its coming. anyway, sorry for calling you an idiot, those of us with the disorder should try to stick together.

  • your obviously talented in what you do though. I wouldn't have the slightest clue of how to make a video clip!

  • someone with OCD watching this would be terrified to observe that if they do not ritualize in the correct way they would allow harm to occur. To be honest with you, if you are aware of OCD, and its effects on sufferers then you should know better than to display OCD in this way. Its like if a physciatrist were to use this as an example they would get the sack for gross misconduct.

  • This clip only serves to endorse the irrational fears to which the sufferer has become so devestatingly innured. The basis of treatment for OCD includes a technique called exposure and response prevention, this encourages the individual to challenge their fears, for example they would actively 'step on cracks' or only switch the light switch once. subsequently the sufferer learns to deal with the fear called habituation....

  • I am all for raising awareness for OCD, however, this simply is not the way to go about it. The character depicted here displays what we call 'checking' features of OCD. I have shown this clip to several 'checkers' who to be honest with you found it to be 'sick'

  • I am a sufferer of OCD. Irrational thoughts like this are supposed to be dicouraged. An individual with OCD may watch this and have their awry beliefs endorsed. This could have the effect of reinforcing irrational beliefs and thus perpetuate the disorder. Thanks.

  • This is brilliant, funny and clever! It gets better each time I watch it. Great sound track too!'
