UN for Taiwan is indeed a issue about human right. Taiwan's independence is just what attached to this issue. Taiwan couldn't attend international councils because we are not a part of UN. For example, we are deprived of basic right during SARS. PRC gov stop WHO from helping Taiwan and cause almost 100 infected and 37 dead. UN for Taiwan is not just a political issue, but also the issue that strongly related to Taiwanese ppl's human right.

indeed, human rights should be protected. I did try to do something to support the movement of Human rights in China. i don't know why being a chrisitian means you know more about human right. That just doesn't make sense. Also, all issue about human right should be supported, including Taiwan's independence. The UN's reject of Taiwan's application is just really unhumane because we thus couldn't execute our rights as being a global citizen!

Culturally, you can't use the origin to define how Taiwanese cultural completely belongs to China. I grow up in the southern Taiwan, and i experienced that unfairness and such feeling even grow stronger after i moved to Taipei. Believe it or not, i have more friends who supports DPP in Taipei than in Kaohsiung. Please throw your sterotypes about how location affects people's political tendency away.

ixhxuowq, are you that lazy for not looking up the definition of "President of Republic of China"? President of Republic of China is AKA President of Taiwan after 1947 Constitution (May 20, 1948 - present). He was president for 5 terms in Taiwan's general election.

Whizkid3, Taiwan do need our independence clearly known by the international society. We ARE an independent country that qualified to be a nation according to the international law. However, many people around the world still think we are apart of china simply because China claim they have our sovereignty. This has troubled us a lot for Taiwan's diplomacy. and if you are the one who can see through BUSH's conspiricy, why can't you see that of Chinese government?

The very first president of Taiwan, Chiang Kai-shek. During 228, taiwan was seeking independence from KMT at the time not CPC. 228 incident was a result of conflict between KMT militants and taiwan's rebels.
