Then again, kids ARE getting dumber, and dumb is getting cooler, so WWE has to lower the bar to get ratings. Running 25 hours of jobber-free TV a month doesn't help the creative team any, either. Lots of quick filler needed. Probably nearly the same amount of good stuff these days, hour-for-hour.

Yes Jake started as a heel. On SNME it did a number of Ricky Steamboat. He used the DDT on Steamboat on the concrete floor outside the ring. That was when Jake The Snake showed he was no joke. The turning from heel to hero was his match with Randy Savage. One of the best SNME matches ever!
