  • I'd rather see Kevin Love's

  • I'd rather to see dennis rodman fundamentals in rebounding that dwight...no ?

  • @ricecube21 u mad u have small PENIS

  • @frostedchunks I Bet your penis is HUGE

  • I bet his penis is HUGE

  • @Frostedchunks wtf...

  • Height does matter but not nearly as much as strength and power... Power is by far the best thing to have, mostly in the mid section. explosion and athleticism helps too, not just vert but quickness in a confined area. And Howard obviously has a lot of skill too. This video is for kids who aren't too familiar with rebounding, and it is basic stuff but it is executed in the video flawlessly by Howard.

  • Also helps when your 7ft tall and play the monopoly game at mcdonalds.

  • hes 6"10.5 actually.

  • i dont even play ball like that, but this video is dope in its spiritual application. You gotta learn how to rebound in your Christian walk and keep the enemy from taking the ball. Tactics!

  • Thanks Dwight !

  • The fact that Dennis Rodman isn't the first one to show up after you type in "rebound" in the search engine is a crime.

  • Thank you jedi master.

  • helps when ur 7 ft

  • You seriously don't have to be the tallest player, you just have to want the rebounds and get in great positions as he already said. Check out Dennis Rodman, he was just 2,01 meters tall and avarages like 15 rebounds per game for his career

  • Howards Tip # 1 be tall as ISH!!!

  • How to rebound the basketball

    Step 1: Grab the ball...

  • @bountyhunter40 How original...

  • 70% of shots go long

  • @shoelessjoe555

Asshole . if a team dont have a center what the fuk can do ? put an 5"5 guy to do center. you lose man . I'm a center but i also can shott from mid range and 3 pt. soo better if you not write any more.

  • @200798a NOOOOOOO

  • @ jerkerz100 they don't.. well at least dwight doesn't because that is his voice naturally. get with it.

  • Monster!

  • ühm_ÀnýôñE_wÄnNa_chàt_wÎth_mÊ_í_fEÈl_sô_lÔñÊlY_tòDaý◘

  • Thanks a lot for posting this.

  • his long pass at 1:24 looks so effortless... what a beast

  • WHY DOES EVERY BASKETBALL PLAYER DAT DOES FUNDEMENTAL VIDEOS TRY 2 MAKE THEIR VOICE SOUND LIKE MICHAEL JORDAN?....WEIRED

  • the key to rebounding the basketball is........RAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Dennis Rodman should be doing this segment

  • 50% of the views were made by kevin love

  • i used to be a gaurd, but now i play more like a forward. i got a lot stronger and a bit taller and im a lot more interested in rebounding, blocking, and defending than just scoring all day.

  • Come on more heart? i'm sure every that plays basketball has one because they want to win..if you ain't tall/big it will be tough to rebound...you won't be able to rebound as much per game..there's a reason why PF, C's lead the league in Rebounds, Blocks..They are big and strong!

  • @Johnaja tell 6'4" Charles Barkley that, or a 6'9" center like Michael Cage, 6'8 Dennis Rodman, or Fat Lever who was a 6'3" pg who averaged 9 boards for two seasons and 8 for another 2 seasons. Yes, size can make a difference, but when you look at it, there was 7'4" Rik Smidts, and 7'6" Shawn Bradley and several other 7 footers that never averaged double digit rebounds per game. Just as Dwight Howard said,"it's about will and hard work".

  • @terrybigteekemp Yes, and my point again is..you have to be big..and strong..i consider 6ft 8 big and strong..and i was talking about leading the league in Rebounds..anyone can get a rebound..but you won't be seeing someone that is 6ft 6 and under leading the league in rebounds

  • although hes 6'11", theres a reason also why joakim noah gets so many boards. the guy has heart.

  • Dwight Howard and Nate Robinson are some of the funniest players in the league, that gives Nate the power to drive and Dwight the power to rebound.

  • some of his moves are good. but if i could do that 3:03-3:07, that would help alot.

  • such great help

  • I'm very bad rebounder no matter how hard i try,i try to boxout etc. everything but i just can't get the damn rebounds, how should i improve?:(

  • Rebounding to me is just anticipating where that ball is gonna be and being there at the right time, height and vertical is a big plus However, i get boards off bigger and stronger guys all the time. I'm gonna try the tap move, i don't think the swim will help much because no one really defends like that where i play.

  • You don't need height to be a monster rebounder. Hell the greatest rebounder in all time (for me) is Dennis Rodman and he was only 6'8 some even say he was just 6'6

  • he is DWIGHT HOWARD, NOT DWIGHT COWARD

  • if ur short dont watch this

  • @10000dc awww go fuck ur self ass hole

  • @Heatfan96 when i say short i mean under 6 "asshole"

  • rebounding isn't only about height, in fact the greatest rebounder of all time is only 6'7, and most of the NBA leaders in rebounds are shorter than 7'0

  • @bundeligafan 6'4

  • NUMBER ONE IS be 6'11''

  • dwight howard= elbows

  • howards a beast.

  • how to rebound-jump, get the rebound, be agressive.

    Easy

  • we all know that u could rebound dwight, but can u teach us how 2 score on da low post?

  • 1:56, Big Z with hair............... =_____=

  • size is most important most of the time. guys like kendrick perkins dont even have to jump, they just need to box out and the ball comes right into their hands.

  • hops,body mass,muscle and size helps too

  • he forgot to add "being ten fucking feet tall"

  • Also what people don't understand the guards also have to box out so the guy or

Guys running through don't get the rebound. Like when atlanta played Orlando Joe Johnson put up a shot that miss and Josh smith from deep ran into the key to get the rebound to win the game

  • gna try that

  • kwwyy dude, I improved past 15 inches on my jump by finishing the training system at "50inch vertical [dot] com". now being one of the shorter kids on court is something I don't have to worry about in basketball now, haha

  • kwwyy I'm 5 9 and I am able to fancy windmill dunks. Truthfully, anyone can do it, just workout the right way. I highly recommend the program at 50inch vertical[dot]com but any workout could be used if you know they work

  • haha never seen that tap move ever gonna try it next time

  • 2 things

1: One of Rodman's best move - tipping. tip the ball till you get it before the opponent

2: he didn't say concentrating on the ball is important than concentrating on the rim. when you see your teammate getting blocked and the ball isn't going to hit the rim, you can't be just boxing out there lookin at the rim, instead just catch the ball before it goes outside.

  • he si the besst

  • kwwyy son, I gained over 12 inches on my jump by completing the training course over at (50 inch vertical [dot] com). now being outrebounded is the least thing I have to worry about in a game finally, heh

  • I respect Dwight Howard b/c he gives his all. Now, is he a great center? I don't think so. Look at the centers of the 90's. Hakeem, David, Patrick, Zo, Smits, and even Vlade. He doesn't compare to the upper tier of those centers. Imagine if David Robison faced him. Dwight would look like a role player.

  • Imagine if Shaq had the desire to rebound that Dennis Rodman had! Dennis led the NBA for seven straight years (I know you'll correct me if I'm wrong). With Shaq's size combined with his early years agility you would see records that Dwight could only dream of.

  • Here is the real deal:

    1) Be crazy athletic like Diwight.

    2) If you're not gifted like Howard be ready to take on a Rodman, Wallace, Berkowski roll.

Rebound is about heart. The opponent might be more athletic but your desire will always win.

  • are you allowed to tap ppl like that? lol

  • kwwyy do you play basketball? you gotta check out - "50inch vertical (dot) com". it s highly recommended! I m 5 10 and started dunking after 2 months of the program!

  • lolo kwwyy this is out of this world yo if you're interested in learning to dunk you need to start doing this now - 50 inch vertical (dot) com

    check it now #VIDEOPOSTERID#

  • .you gotta Love the "tap" move.

  • yeh dwight, shoulda really boxed out j smoove

  • you gotta see the new b. Manley Get em Bruce vol 2. Seriously never seen anything like it before

  • @DJA216 nah believe me he look soft outside the court but when it get down to business he dont play at ALL look at them monster blocks and swats he gets sumtimes he even catches the ball in mid-air like a steal, monster dunks n shit, believe me he everythin but soft

  • kino-laim. com

  • God bless you DH, I follow his lessons and moves and now I'm balling, dunking, blocking, and rebounding pretty easy and I'm working now on 60 inches jump with the help of his lessons not those fake websites

  • what do u use man could you please tell me thank you so much bless you

  • ur friends an idiot

  • You don't have to be big and strong to be a center. You just have to have a big heart. And Dwight has a big one! :)

  • ofcourse you have to be big and strong...or you can't rebound =D

  • @Johnaja

Being big and strong has nothing to do with rebounding. The man with the bigger heart gets the ball. :)

  • This has to be one of the gayest things I have ever heard.

  • @TheNameIsCharles As a matter of fact my coach told me that. I'm only 5'6, but coach plays me as a center because i'm the best rebounder. Because i want the ball more then anyone on the court! BTW you are right. It is "gay". But gay means happy. Because people with big hearts and who are successful because of their big hearts- like me and Dwight - are the gayest (meaning happy!) people on earth! So stick that in your pipe and smoke it! Too bad you don't have a big enough heart to know this. Sad!

  • Bud, Dwight is the biggest man on the court normally... He's 6'11. I'm 6'4 and am #44 in the eastern panhandle Varsity conference for all time center. Being big definitely helps ALOT when you are rebounding. "heart" is something a girl would say. Men call it dedication. let em' hang bro.

  • @brassmonkeyjew indeed, especially that one 6'8" second draft pick with asthma from southeastern oklahoma state university. he lead the nba in rebounding for seven years straight. hmm, they don't have players like that around anymore.

  • @brassmonkeyjew Yeah, but you need about 10x the heart to beat a guy just 10 inches taller...

  • @brassmonkeyjew awh youre so cheesey =] hahah

  • @brassmonkeyjew Exactly - That's why Dennis Rodman was such a beast on the boards.

  • @brassmonkeyjew it helps to get ur chin aove the rim too haha

  • @brassmonkeyjew not tru....

bein big has lots to do with it.

  • @brassmonkeyjew Denis Rodman is evidence enough that height has nothing to do with rebounding, as did Charles. Both guys well under 7 feet.

  • @brassmonkeyjew ARE U SERIOUS

  • @brassmonkeyjew that only works in some situations, u still need height cuz mogsy bogues aint gettin boards over darko millicic and bogues has hella heart

  • @larrence029

    Size doesn't matter!

You just gotta be in it to win it!

  • @brassmonkeyjew It's a little naive to say size doesn't matter. Size does matter, but heart is probably the most important.

  • @brassmonkeyjew yup when earl boykins become leader in rebounding you can tell me that..i'm sure he works harder at his game than dwight howard...being at 5 foot 5..

  • @brassmonkeyjew

No its the guy with the most skill, not the overzealous ball hunter.

  • @brassmonkeyjew idk why u have 90 likes but this is simply bullshit, especially the first sentence

  • @JohnOfMs

Where has all your hating got you? Nowhere!

If only you had a big heart like Dwight, then you would be open to the world and gain all it has to offer... So learn from big hearted men like Dwight and you shall live a happy and fulfilled life too. :)

  • @brassmonkeyjew i like u, but it doesnt change the fact that being big and strong is the big factor of rebounding. of course, u can say that small heart = dont want to even play the game and big heart = want to rebound with everything i have but if a big heart gets the rebound then why are centers and forwards working for muscles..

  • @brassmonkeyjew lol that a Slam Dunk talk =' ) awesome

  • @brassmonkeyjew come on....being big and strong is a HUGE advantage. im not trying to dispute effort but even little guys like rondo who has a big heart cant beat those soft and lazy bigmen (eg bargnan) in 90% of the times

  • @brassmonkeyjew damn right.. just ask stoudemire!

  • @brassmonkeyjew Yup, and usually, big men have bigger hearts, you do need a bigger heart to pump more blood after all.

  • @brassmonkeyjew not if hes 6"11

  • @brassmonkeyjew well, you said you are 5'6''. but do you play middle or high school

  • did you or kwwyy tried the nba training program for dunking and shooting? Even players like Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen and Arenas have used this program. If you don't know what I'm saying,, take a look at snipr{dot}com/verticaldunk sjrcayh

auditors NBA TNT Fundamentals with Dwight Howard on REBOUNDING torpedoes

  • this vid helped me out alot to becomin a better rebounder im only a SG but i avg close 7 rebounds a game now and a beast ass move at the end btw

  • i like the part when D howard was getting boxed out and tapping the waist to go to the opposite side. CREATIVE

  • and fourth -- get somebody to double him when he gets the ball in the post.

  • helped a lot today while playing a pick up game but i need help on how to cover someone who's a lot taller then me

  • the last play he made in the video was a travel

  • Dwight Howard doesn't get rebounds because he has good fundamentals (evident by his lack of offensive post moves). He gets rebounds because he is bigger, stronger, and quicker than any other center in the NBA. He needs to develop more of an offensive game to become a great basketball player.

  • I am quite fairly good at getting rebounds but my problem is that I can;t explode back up to put the ball back in cause' i'm this skinny center, can someone help!!!???? (besides giving advice abt working out)

  • it helps if your 6'11, long arms, and can jump out of the gym

  • Either I've had a horrible coach, or that "tap" move is not a fundamental because no one has EVER taught me that in my five years of playing basketball...so many times I've been horribly boxed out, and no one ever thought to tell me this. :( Same thing with the swim move, I've only been taught to do that when I attempt to post up (which is also a joke, given how weak I am).

There's a lot of stuff to think about when the ball is in the air...I doubt I'd be able to remember all this during a game

  • LoL

  • Yes, it's sad, I know. You can't imagine how badly I feel sometimes when my coach yells at me for not getting a rebound. :(

  • man i feel u cause i also feel horrible when i miss the rebound and my coach goes ballistic...I guess its just not a good part of our game.

  • I have a real problem when it comes to rebounding...I jump high, but I never get boards because I always get boxed out, and I'm not good at boxing out. I think what's wrong with me is that I'm weak. Like...really weak. I have muscles, and I "look strong" (I'm quoting other people here), but I am by no means strong. Thus, it's really hard for me to box out, and I get pushed around when I try to box out. I can jump 40+ inches with a running start, but when it comes to rebounding...I fail.

    Help!

  • you don't have to have pure strength to rebound if you can box out properly by using your butt and pushing your man back out of the paint then the ball will come down and if the rest of your team can box out then you can usually pick an easy rebound up. and if you have a good vertical jump that will help when your teammates can't box out their man and you have to go for the rebound with 2 or 3 guys instead of 1 or none

  • u do need a certain degree of strength if you end up going against those with very strong legs and back

  • get in front of your match-up or any1 near the basket and get low, explode when the ball comes of the rim

  • go too low and your opinion might over power you though. gotta make sure he doesnt lean too far forward because that will kill your boost off the floor.

  • if he's reaching all over you he should be called for a foul, but that's not always the case, you're right.

  • opponent not opinion =.='''''''' epic fail much?

  • haha I used the swim move so many times without a foul. Its sooo funny!

  • rebounding is my favorite part of the game.

  • dang his shoulder's are broad

  • Superman!

  • ridiculous spin move on kg at the end lol

  • Will i get foul if i push the person too hard when boxing out?

  • use your body to push your opponent, not your hands.. as howards said, use ur hand as a guide.. BUt there's always a trick in boxing out, where you can use your hands to neutralize you opponent...

  • box out is not about pushing its about not letting him in, or else it'll be called a push out.

  • yes

  • Defensive player of the year, this man knows his game.

Also awesome in the paint as far as blocking goes, and getting it down.

  • i play point guard right, last game i block the guy 6 times in a game, i gott 22 points and what im realy suprised i got 10 rebounds, i watch this video before and all i can say is it help

  • i like this,howerd is a big reabounder.

  • Tap move is okay, but what really does the trick in offensive rebounding is the nutcracker. Signiture move of reggie evans, when being boxed out, grab ur man's balls down real hard real fast, then jump and grab the other ball. If ur man has blue ball of steel, u might wanna try the anal variation.

  • lol

  • Lol.

Funny as it is,enjoy your fouls :p

  • there was only one possible foul. Swim Move and Refs dont catch it all the time. Have fun laughin when u feel dumb as hell when Dwight howard gets 25 Rbs on ur team.

  • @raptibus lmfao

  • "the swim move is hard cos u might get an offensive foul" REALLY? howard didn't get many of those in the playoffs :P :)

  • Great vid. Helped a lot. Thanks Dwight!

  • rule number one, be 7 feet tall

  • Rule number two, have HUGE ass hops.

  • he forgot the part that it helps to be superman

  • I have just started playing basketball for the last 6 weeks, after not playing for a long time and I'm just wondering how you box out against a defender who is physically stronger than you?

  • To box out stronger players you want to get in front of them of course but put yourself into a position like your sitting on a chairand use your arms to keep him in between you as you move him out of rebounding position

  • its all about position, if u have the best position, then u have the chance to get it.

My brother is stronger than me, but i always get on a better position, plus i know when to jump, thats important too

  • if you have good position strength doesnt matter....im 6'4 195lbs and ive had 5'5 and smaller box me out well, and some kids can seal me completly...its all about positioning, assuming every shot is a miss, and effort.

you do all those 3 you will go far.

  • sometimes they have no intentions of grabbing the board. sometimes they just don't want to give you the chance to get the rebound. i'm 5'9 and i play with people who...just always seem to be shorter than me. some don't even go for the ball when they box out; they just don't want ME to get it

  • get low and push him out of the paint
