  • thank you very much

  • My friends and I started singing this when we were watching it in our Reading class.

  • Scrooge is Santa!

  • TCM (turner classic movies) will be airing this dec. 19 and the 23rd - - 2011

  • leslie bricusse should get much more highly reputation as a composer. he continues to give us good music through 60`s to 20`s . If we have a Nobel prize of music section.

  • @Powerbubblesful You're either being facetious or you're an idiot!

  • @brianalbright Just kidding

  • Part 2??? I own this movie.. seen it over a dozen times throughout my life.. so where's the actual beginning?? lolz

  • @alcoholic2anextreme It's more like "Part 2" as in "Reprise". I uploaded the first "Thank You Very Much" where Scrooge's debtors are dancing on his coffin and called it Part 1.

  • hey wheres the lady that says u woke my baby?

  • @kellyberry That's in the other part of the film where Scrooge is with the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come and his debtors are dancing on his coffin.

  • @kellyberry well she is in part 1 not in part 2

  • @kellyberry-- go to the top of the page , start with SCROOGE THE MOVIE and click through the many sequences . The part with the woman complaining should be Part 10 or Part 11

  • This is a great song. Thank you very much You Tube for posting this song on here. It's a great reminder to all to be thankful and grateful for all things in life. Blessings to everyone who reads this. Thank you very very much.

  • i take it Scrooge STILL doesn't know what was the orginal meaning behind the song the first time. lol

  • 0:48.........Robin Williams???

  • i have a feeling when i die my moms gonna start singing this and pointing at my coffin and laugh

  • @kellyberry that got dark quickly. :-/

  • Love this movie

  • The two groups of singers are going to crash into each other! Who will win in a singing contest?

    Church goers V. Santa Claus!

  • it's so weird, but it's who I think of when I see the puppet dude.

  • I adore those 2 lil ol ladies, omg they're so cute! :D

  • This is the BEST version of Scrooge

  • This is the BEST version of Scrooge !

  • Is that puppet guy Robin Williams?

  • @ladydemando No, this movie was made in 1970 (0r 1971) Robin Williams was MUCH younger then

  • I agree. It's a great movie!

  • Merry Christmas To everyone around the world

  • Its Amazing how many lifes this movie has been a part of.....I first watched this

sitting on my grandfathers lap,,,,,,And its been a tradition for everyone in my family ever since...sisters, neices, nephews, cousins everyone loves it. Gets you in the Christmas Spirit!........Albert Finney is Amazing as Scrooge!!!

  • This is a great movie. Albert Finney is the best Scrooge and Kenneth More as The Ghost of Christmas Present is great as well. This is the best movie adaptaton of A Christmas Carol.

  • Hey, does anyone remember this commercial that was on tv a couple years ago that featured this scene? It was like a credit card commercial or something and it showed this scene from Scrooge where everyone is singing Thank You Very Much. I just remembered it today. Anyone else remember it?

  • Almost forgot...thank you.

  • I'm fighting not to cry while listening to this. I was in a play version of this in elementary school, so not only am I getting a beautiful song, I'm also getting a reminder of my childhood.

  • I was skipping around the house singing this for days, it made me so happy ^^

  • THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!!!!! :D

  • Timeless, a christmas classic. Albert Finney plays an excellent scrooge!

  • @BWKAPPA

This movie has been a Christmas Eve must see every year!

  • This is exactly what GOD did for us in His Son.....He cancelled all the debts and charges against us and nailed them to the cross...but EVERY person has to RECEIVE this for themselves by faith by asking Jesus to save them. ...and you will have a whole new life and a whole new future will begin for you....and it will last for all eternity!!!

  • Best Scrooge movie without a doubt! :D

  • @AngelGhostchild ABSOLUTELY!!! :-)

  • BEST, BEST, BEST rendition of A Christmas Carol ANYWHERE!!

  • this film rocks

  • Thank you very much

  • Happiest most joyful and moving Scrooge EVER. That will EVER be. The definitive version. Always will be.

  • Happiest Ending Ever?

  • Just a thought but wasn't the current credit crunch caused by people defaulting on their debts. Scrooge you should have insisted on payment as those half-wits will only blow their cash down William Hill or getting drunk on Woodpecker cider.

  • Great song and film. I want this sung at the 2012 London olympics would be a great musical number with everyone dressed in old garb

  • This is my family's favorite version of "A Christmas Carol". Thank you very much for posting it!

  • Between the two parts, I wonder how many times they say "Thank You Very Much".

  • この歌大好きです!元気がでます(^o^)

    クリスマスキャロルはこのミュージカル映画が一番です!!

    とても素晴らしいと思います。

うp Thank you very much !!

  • Thank you very much for posting this.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • The youngest Scrooge, Finney?

  • I have always loved this song.

  • The finale of the chorus and Finney's squeaky "Merry Christmas" at the end always make me choke up every year. Easily the most underrated Scrooge film ever done.

  • i remember this now I have this song stuck in my head Ha Thank you very Much

  • after i watched the movie this is the only song i sang afterwards!!! Thank You Very Much!!!

  • The King of all feel good films!!! :))

  • My favorite version of A Christmas Carol .

    Thank you very much ........

  • THIS made my CHRISTMAS.........Thank YOU VERY, VERY MUCH !!!

  • My fav xmas carol is the Muppet one

  • I also agree that this is my favorite version of Scrooge as it ALWAYS makes me smile and puts the season into perspective ever since I was a kid. Albert Finney FTW! Thank you very much (for the posts)!

  • @jzchillin oddly enough, Finney was younger then the acter who played his nephew!

  • my favorite christmas version of scrooge.

and I sing this song all year long whenever any one says..."thank you very much!"....

  • To mrboombasticx,

Thank you very much, Thank you very much! This is the nicest thing that you done for me! ^_^ Love this film, LOVE this song! So I simply have to say, Thank you very very very much!

  • *bows low* and may...

    the joy and beauty

    Oh, the joy and beauty

That a merry Christmas can bring to you...

    be yours :)

  • @SaruCameraNinja Love the movie and this song....also luv SING A CHRISTMAS

CAROL at the very beginning/intro for the movie...

I was watching this movie the Friday -- December 5, 1980 -- just 3 days before John Lennon was murdered....How quickly and tragically everything can change all from the actions of a single person.....but I still love the movie and plan to see it again on Christmas Eve with my sister....

  • just such an awesome like feel good film cause no matter how i feel the ending always cheers me up

  • @karriu277

Omg I know what you mean! Thats why I always watch this on Christmas eve, because even if I feel like crap, after watching this I will be going up the stairs to bed singing "Thank you very much!"

  • Man, what a great movie.

    Albert Finney FTW.

  • I totally agree with you

  • I love this movie!!!! lol

  • This movie and song has grown on me over the years. I used to hate it, but now it is one of my favorites. Much better the latest musical with Frazier.

  • Absolutely love this!

By the way, the songs and the screenplay were written by Leslie Bricusse.

  • To me, the end bit when Scrooge steps away, and looks back at the adulation of the people, knowing that he was able to do that, brings a tear to my eye, and a smile to my face. Merry Christmas everyone.

  • me to!!

  • Thank You Very Much! From Japan!

  • Thank You Very Much From Holland

  • oh my i played this part lol

  • crackers

  • Your Welcome,already!

  • Just stating the obvious

  • Also I to like this movie and I know it's a classic so try to calm down a bit ok

  • If I remember my history people said that saint nick wore a green suit in victorian time not a redden

  • You're right....it was green, but thanks to the US marketing machine that is 'coca cola' it was decided that the world would prefer it to be in the US firm's colours (not colors) of RED!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're wrong. Coca Cola did not start the red tunic of Santa Claus. Pictures of Santa in red apepared long before Coca Cola adverts

  • That's true Music. The belief that Coca-Cola started the Santa in red is an urban legend.

  • charles dickens knew how to write a ruddy good tune

  • LOL, Charles Dickens did not write the tune. The tune was composed much later...I think, in 1969 or 1970.

  • i saw this film and it said wriiten by charles dickens

  • yeah the songs were made espescially for this musical.. the original story of course is charles dickens.... n oquestions there!! lol

  • y dosent it work anymore

  • This video dosen't even work! :(

  • I love this Musical number..........You won't this kind of scene nowadays.....Oliver Twist was the same way...........

  • Dogdidit, can't get this out of your head for weeks? It's has been over a month and I can't get this damn song out of my head. Aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

  • Is it gone yet? :) (Although, I probably just brought it back in your head. Errooh, sorry about that).

  • You say that as though that's a bad thing. It's a good song, and can be sung at just about any time of year. After all, being thankful is a good thing.

  • That is so true....Being thankful is a good thing.

  • Thanks for uploading this. I remember seeing this when it was first released at Radio City Music Hall. My favorite Christmas film.

  • It kind of reminds me of Consider Yourself from Oliver! only its more cheerful this time because it is a true happy ending and not a celebration of poverty like the former song.

  • You can't get this out of your head for weeks once you've heard it. And I love it.

  • @dogdidit Or years as in my case lol

  • This sequence is magical. thank you.

    Joe.

  • Mr Scrooge,

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!

  • TCM recently showed this for the first time and showed it again last night. I was thoroughly delighted with it, especially this scene. I could watch it over and over -in fact, I think I will....

  • ya i saw it 2

  • I saw that on TCM, too! I first saw this in the theater back in 1970---LOVED IT---and my boyfriend then bought me the original soundtrack...I think this was probably the last, great, traditional Musical ever made! Merry Christmas, Everybody!

  • we had to watch this movie during choir and this song was suck in my head all day

  • The man at the begining is so cute the way he sings

  • As for it not showing often on TV...It is available on DVD :)

  • Ha... they showed those little kids outside the church what real singing is

  • This is the best part of the movie. The music, the acting, the "Britishnes" and the spirit of Christmas all come together beautifully.

Finney's "Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!" always brings me to brink of tears. It has since 1970. The final crescendo at the end, when Scrooge puts his beard on the door sends me over the top.

    The English are so classy.

    Thank you very much!

  • i frkin love british people

  • The irony of this song and some of the others just make this version on just make this film so perfect.

  • I love this movie so much thanks for your post. I start my Christmas season July 4th after the fireworks are done.

  • Such a great film...a pity it doesn't play more often on TV

  • @Filmwolf02 I agree -- we finally broke down and bought it so that we can make an event of it every year!

  • I'm 61 and enjoy many kinds of movies now but do miss this kind. Why doesn't Andrew Lloyd Webber get together with Tim Rice again (or Sir Richard Attenborough) and make a movie with a huge cast and BIG numbers ?

  • This is absolutely the best Scrooge, Ever! I've watched and enjoyed it for years and years. You rock A.F.!

  • im reporting mclarensenna and incredibleman to the police. it's disturbing what they are saying

  • it's rare in london you hear the words thank you they're such ignorant gits, so enjoy. im glad scrooge repents because he's so adorable as a nice guy

  • Funny at the end when they messed up the carolers, but it certainly got the crowd to listen at the end!

  • They didn't know how the party so Scrooge and co came in and partied like it was 1860, which it was!

  • Oh, and on a side note, am I the only one who thinks that he looks a lot like Robin Williams with the Santa beard and stuff?

  • Or Anne Ramsey with a Santa beard. ;p

  • Heh, you're right :P

  • since i left me drummer at home i'd simply like to say thank you very much

  • This is my beloved movie!!! do you have the whole thing? My stepdoughter has not seen it!!! I would love for her to see it! I don't know if you can get it at the store.

  • you can get it off netflix!

  • oh I don't do netfix! what is that like?

how much do you need? (money)

    I don't have a credit card.

  • hahah opps netflix (netfix) must be a drug!!! haha

  • I bought it last week on a DVD at a local DVD-store.. So I suggest you just try it, it sure is worth the effort ^_^

  • oh thanks you very much!!! I'll go see tomorrow! if my husband wants to take me. thank you again!!!!!

  • Hah, no problem!

Everyone deserves this movie, glad to help:P

  • my husband got one the other day.

but it was not this one.

oh well he did his best.

  • Ah, too bad..

I sure hope you'll find it one day..

  • I'll have to look for it. but I will get one!!!

It just might take a while!

  • First I would like to say that this is by far one of the best scrouge movies. This is my favorite part too because he changes his ways. But just to add something funny when i was watching this I thought to myself hes a playa from 00:52-1:00.

  • LOL they are gonna come over later and show him just how grateful they are for him ending their debts

  • I love this movie! Best Scrooge movie of all time!

  • without a doubt the best version of "a Christmas Carol" its great albert finney is still in the movie business

  • He was only 34 at the time he played Ebenezer, if I remember correctly. The man who played his nephew was older than he was. But I think this is a great song.

  • And from holland hahha

  • Awesome. My favorite Scrooge movie and in the top ten of my alltime favorites....

  • im tiny tim in scrooge.we perform at the roanoke civic center

  • I wish I could find the Visa commercial that spoofed this.

  • I didn't know there was one, but if you should ever chance to come across it, please do share it!

  • that commerical seriously owned my soul--it was the simon mall gift card commerical *-*

  • I think it was a commercial for gift cards at Simon malls.

  • I love this! Thanks for uploading it!

  • The best Scrooge ever! And such a wonderful song. Thanks for posting this!

  • I watch this every christmas eve, Love it :)

  • I absolutely love this version of A Christmas Carol!!

  • I don't know what my problem is but I'm strangely attracted to Tom Jenkins when he's making that funny face during "That's the nicest..."

  • I like the version when they dance on his coffin after he dies!!

  • this is one of the best films of scrooge i dnt like the other version of scrooge xxxxlolxx

  • we sang this song to the mangers of the firm that just sack us printers at enve sales

  • years ago during the x-mas season it was so nice to just happen upon this movie on TV now you have to rent it or buy it, ah well. All they ever show now is the Jimmy Stewart movie or A christmas story (which I do like).

  • Truly sad, eh?

  • lol

  • I sing this song every time I thank someone.

  • Be careful, they may think you're being sarcastic and you're referencing that other scene! Hehehe...

  • Yes, if I had a cannon, I'd fire it, too!

But since I left my cannon at home, I'll simply have to say...

    you know!

  • LOL!

  • God bless your uploads, everyone of them!

  • Thank you very much! Thank you very much! ;)

  • I need to get the lyrics

  • great christmas film ever. merry xmas

  • thanks for posting this clip
