    I can imagine that this technique easily works with a firesteel or a magnesium firestarter but does it also work with a flintstone and a piece of normal steel or pyrite respectively markasite as well? Do you know this? I've never tried this using birch bark as tinder by myself before so i can't tell you but perhaps you can tell this to me instead?! This would be nice. I don't have birch bark so i unfortunately can't try it by myself!

    note: When it has been raining the innerside of the bark is easyier to ignite than the outerside of the bark
