So like braindrill, it is acceptable for a single guitarist to now play live with a 3rd harmony effect. It makes more sense than playing to a backingtrack which not only you could fall out of time live with, but the drummer could too. And having two guitarists requires alot of dissecting and practising together especially with these leads. So my theory about 4 or 5 years ago of this being the future of how lead guitar is played, is correct. Its like Mabel's Fatal Fabel's tone, ALL THE TIME. WIN!

And dude... be honest to yourself! what this guy plays, is pretty difficult and not easy... its not, that he's just fast, in a lot of songs u got pretty difficult beats...

And even if u say, all he does is being fast...even this is not so easy, cause u cant be just fast if u arent technical,too ... otherwise u would get out of the rythm completely... So this guy has my respect!

I don't know the last time you listened to BTBAM, but their song forms, harmonies, and melodic construction are all extremely technical. No, every riff does not have as many notes in it as BTM or Necrophagist, but that doesn't mean they aren't technical. You're right about JFAC though, they're about as far as tech metal as you can get

They are good, I saw them too on the behemoth, jfag, tour at the Los Angeles House of Blues show, they sounded horrible I know that for a fact because the house of blues system is top notch and they sounded like a total mess, they sound good on cd but live is not so great. There drummer can't replicate live what he does on their recordings too.

lol at jfag, so very true.... my family was raised in live sound i kinda have a critical ear for it, and every time ive seen BTM live u cant distinguish anything coherent about the drums, cant hear triggers or the snare etc.... this vid goes to show that the more popular u get the better your sound. sometimes people that are opening for other bands purposely get shoddy sound jobs to make the headliners sound better, BTM may have been a victim of that, JFAG and behemoth had incredible sound
