  • this is grunge over ecstatic groove... plus an oldschool rapper in that organized noise ...surprisingly it all works well together...

an excellent song... but it's better to not listen to this if you're tired...it's better try the calm 1968 album by the millennium...

  • @Iberotimuka @micklokking @Atticwalk Come check out the newest project by Dean Garcia of Curve over on XD Records Official ~XD

  • I saw them live in Amsterdam ca. 1992. Earsplitting but total genius... Check out also Dirty High and you know why Garbage are just runners up.

  • is the rapper the bloke from KLF?

  • Curve, maybe the most underrated band of the era (with apologies to the Pixies).

  • She looks so pretty @ 2:00

  • crossgenre hypnotic brilliance. fuckin great

  • @pawnsacrifice1 1........Not all other shoegaze is Crap Search Up on youtube

    "Medicine - 5ive"

"Medicine - Time Baby II" "Medicine - The Pink" (1993)"

They make VERY good shoegaze type music too. Not all crap your just not looking hard enough =p, I will admit theres very few. But we all have are specific taste.

  • brilliant

  • Dude, if you're saying other shoegaze bands are crap, then you're not a true shoegaze fan anyway. I saw the embarrassing videos on your page, you really should keep your thoughts to yourself.

  • I only met one person who has ever heard of this band. Nearly always on the mp3 player. Ahead of their time....

  • volume> increase Bass >don't feel guilty>Enjoy

  • Timeless, innit?

  • If I ever met Garcia, I would ask him how in the hell he made his guitar sound this good. It's otherworldly.

  • @DiurnalMotion LOTS of overdubs & layering! Love their sound!

  • I have listened to this band from the very beginning and it still rocks! It's a shame that artistic and perhaps personal differences come in the way of making great music.

  • Toni Halliday is the total goddess of me....

  • Amazing band, even by 2000's-era standards =)

  • just awesome! since i heard this song in 1991 i am already 19 years addicted to their music! Never heard anything better! Toni Halliday, what a GREAT VOICE!!!

  • how did I let this band slip thru the net? what a wonderful sound!...I remember Toni...( who wouldnt!)...I think thy were ahead of their time, this sounds fresh even now...(2010),,,,

  • his name was mc2000 or something,he also held a record for rapping so many words in whatever.....

  • This group was GOOD! I wonder why they never got big commercial success?

  • there's no accounting for taste. the way i remember it to be a more successful band you had to attract hoards of sheep-like fans such as those pogoing at a Carter USM or dork students all wearing those stupid James t shirts

  • I saw CURVE at the Trocadero in Philadelphia in 1993 - easily one of the best shows of my life. Thanx for posting this.

  • @retrogression23 good venue great band!

  • I used to be addicted to 120 Minutes...Now MTV's just sh!t. Example: Jersey Shore...utter crap

  • @chasingparkedcars

got that right, MTV used to be the shit and now shit is all it is. its a definite shame. MTV used to be a channel that was badass and way above every other channel. oh well I guess.

  • @chasingparkedcars you could not have said it any better

  • wow Mtv had kickass bands on tv back then...wish it was the same now

  • No kidding. MTV used to actually be Music TeleVision.

  • fantastc to hear this again, sounds even better than I remembered

  • class in a glass! sums up the 90's and easily the best thing they ever done.although they never even came close to releasing a bad tune.sorely missed.

  • These guys have been ripped off tons. It's criminal! Miss them.

  • I've ruined my hearing by listening to early Curve at full volume through headphones, but didn't it sound good.....

  • I've had tinnitus since the early 90s too. Glad I wasn't the only one.

  • This is just so absolutely awesome - and by far the best thing Curve did. Atmospheric, great vocals, great singer, rapping, shoegazing, wierd guitar sounds altogether. Amazing.

  • Curve stood head and shoulders above the other shoe gazing crap and Toni Halliday was sex on a stick.

  • @pawnsacrifice1 Though I happen to enjoy "the other shoe gazing crap", Curve was certainly amongst the best and I couldn't agree more about Toni being sex on a stick. I cry myself to sleep every night because she isn't sex on my stick.

  • @marvalbertlovesyou Lols man thats funny. same same.

  • @pawnsacrifice1 You Tube - Ride Vapor trail.. start there...

  • @micklokking blimey mate, that brings it back, I remember Vapour Trail! I saw them play it in Brighton in 1991

  • Curve set the bar so much higher for people like Madonna, who by the way, completely ripped off their sound for one of her albums. The world music community missed the boat on this one - I blame their crappy record label for not getting them properly promoted. They are, and will remain, my favorite band of all time.

  • I agree they were overlooked massively, but what a great time the early nineties were for english music!! right up until oasis reared their big 'ol eyebrows lol, the first time i heard oasis i felt bored and in my head was matching up all the rip offs and who's they were from the past 5+ years. CURVE glasto 92 smashed it!!

  • omg dude i could not agree more.... giggles... not only mondana ripped them off but so didnt garbage.. but they at least was listenable unlike the Non Virgin... keep rocking, keep smoking and joking and peace

  • The rap is unexpected. Curve is too cool.

  • my favourite of theirs, they were really good and this played loud is fantastic!

  • why in the name of god did they let that pikey cunt "rap" over a ostensibly good song!?!?!?

it just brings the song down.

  • because some people liek to stay loyal to the cause and to their friends.

No matter what others might think.

Some people actually for for the irish in this world..

  • I agree.

  • I actually thinks it works. This song was really something very different when it first came out. Powerful piece of music. Normally I can't stand rap/rock crossovers but this works.

  • +1 utuber2

  • @utuber2 Agreed. the rap works...surprisingly.

  • is there any version without it? i agree with you

  • on the "Radio Sessions" live album Toni does the rap part herself & it actually sounds pretty good.

  • My God, they're just phenomenal!

  • MTV was so cool back then.

  • Love it, one of my favourite Curves songs!

  • Phenomenal!

  • I curve love.

  • whose the guy singing in the video?

  • some rapper called JC-001.

  • GREAT!

  • Die scumbag.

  • you've read kurt cobain's diaries far too many times

  • love this song

  • who gives a fuck?

  • For me, Curve will always be the best band to come out of England. The songs, the production and the voice was superior to anything I've heard, before or since. I wish they were still around.

  • Indeed,i was glad to see that England could make something else that the same pop rock stuff

  • couldn't they make a version of this song with the rap crap, i love the song otherwise, but can't listen to it a lot less than i would

  • Really was ahead of its time, experimental without being arty farty,it was a good collaboration as well as the rapper JCOO1 the guitarist was the frontman for a band called The Starlings i cant think of his name i butthink he was a Kiwi .

  • I respect this band so much !!!! Love their style of shoegaze and interesting hooks.

My band - TEARWAVE - gets compared to these folks quite a bit, especially by the critics ! However, I don't agree at all that we sound Curve.

Enjoy this music - as it only came around once and there are folks out there trying to keep it alive.

    John Stephanski

    TEARWAVES' drummer

  • Tearwave!---I must check this band out immediately!Does toneVENDOR distribute your music??Are you on Claire Records??

  • Hello djnross:

Our latest CD - "Different Shade of Beauty" is not currently available on ToneVendors. However, you can listen to samples of our songs and purchase it directly thru our record company - Projekt.

Our first CD, which is self-titled - TEARWAVE - is available thru ToneVendors and of course thru Projekt, where again, you can listen to samples of our songs.

If you do a Yahoo or Google search using - TEARWAVE - the first hit you get should be our MySpace.

    John

    TEARWAVES' drummer

  • Wow! I love Tearwave. Bought your album last year and it's absolutely brilliant.

This is my favourite Curve song, and was the very first one I heard incidentally. :)

  • This mustve been back in the day when MTV actually showed good music...and i agree Curve are completely unique

  • Heh ! I am from Italy, my friend and I used to have a little show on a local radio station and our soundtrack was " horrohead-remix "...a prescious 12" in a black and silver box...I can hardly describe to young kids of today what it meant to turn on tv and watch things like 120 minutes on mvt back then ahahahah...well, at least we all had something worth watching. How sad there is nothing even comparable today !

  • I was born in 91 which really does suck but thanks to youtube i can still watch all my favourite songs

  • no one will ever be like curve

  • if you r missing curve check out The Secret Meeting featuring Curve's dean garcia on guitar and Collide's Karin on vocals. Much better than Curve i think.

  • Sorry, that's impossible. Curve was one of those very few bands that had it all...hooks, amazing production, great songs, amazing live shows.

  • What a band! Truly one of the best and highly underrated.Saw them live 4 times in the early '90s.Great times.

  • awsome

  • The Fantastic Sound of the Curve......Incredible!

  • One of the greatest bands of all time, in my opinion. They deserved far greater success. Long live Curve!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Fresh as a daisy - excellent!

  • Where are you now that we really F*****g NEED YOU ???

  • great band...anyone knows if there's a video for curve's "already yours" ?

  • ah, such a band. in the 90s, the images of women in videos were not perfect, but they were a hell of a lot more varied.

wish there were a video for 'no escape from heaven'.

  • Thanks for sharing; this is one I had never seen before. The first three Curve EP's were out of this world.

  • Yes totally - those EP's were stunning! Miss them real bad ...

  • Adoro este grupo, creo que dificilmente exitira algo parecido, gracias!

  • The rapper is JC001

  • To have such a woman in your band .

  • Init?

  • great song except for the ugly twat rapping...who is that guy, from House of Pain?

  • the title appeals to me.yes,i know, its sad.

  • i'm With craiguk72, gimme Jesus & Mary Chain, Curve, stereolab, A-OK.

  • curve are way better than all the shite u hear now. wish we were back in 1990

  • I dont feel dreadfully old! I AM dreadfully old! An i dont give a shite! this music makes ,me wanna dance an IM feckin proud to say The Curve are one of my fav bamds of all time! Wish they did a sinner vid though! that would rool second to them reforming for just one album to fuck all the wannabes an show em how its dome!

  • This still manages to kick ass - it's stood up pretty well after almost 17 years and now I feel dreadfully old ...!

  • This video used to freak me out

  • Was cool up until the rapping.

  • we should all wimper before Tonis feet and hymn "were not worthy"

  • Perhaps it´s better, so they never get as commercial as garbage. pop goes underground, underground goes pop !!

  • Its true, the early 90s grundge tsunami overtook all the focus of at least the American (U.S.) market. This band deserved so much more attention...instead Garbage carbon copied it into Pop success years after Curve "peaked" a real shame.

  • Why didn't the world get this band? Ha! Let's see Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, those bands were considered "alternative" so every would be hipster was flocking to those bands.

  • One of their best ever songs. Why didn't the world 'get' this band?

  • Thankyou, one song everyone should hear.

Thanks for time posting this, its marvellous

  • Awesome....Great track- thanx for posting. ;))

  • A classic song and one of my favourite Curve releases. Still amazing today.

  • Classic!...and featuring rapper JC001 the record book fastest rapper in the world, trying to look as scary as his cousin (Jaz Coleman - Killing Joke)

  • I didn't know this rapper is a cousin of Jaz Coleman - but now I remember him featuring in the Killing Joke album "Outside the gate" as well.

  • You sure that record hasn't long been broken yet?

  • Oh yeah. Awesome song!
