@ShataLata Nitrogen and hpa are the same thing. Since oxygen is composed of about 78 % nitrogen they weigh the same as well. Co2 tanks are usually heavier because they are made of steel, where as MOST hpa (nitrogen) tanks are made of carbon fiber. Please do some research before you give advise.

@hashmash0 Becasue of the mass of the ball bearing it doenst gain enough speed to really do much damage unless you score a head shot... and the longer the barrel in painball markers doesnt equal more "power". It ussd air instead of a combustable substance and doesnt create the pressure you are looking for. And you are better making you own paintball gun from raw materials, beacause the ball bearings will FUCK your gun up.. along with your barrel you you have deep pockets...

i still like airsoft better, its more realistic with actual full size full scale replicas of guns istead of the big gas container and hopper on top, i even have a 3-9x40 scope mounted on my sniper and its zeroed in at 50 yards, can paintball do that? im not talking about clear walmart guns here(thats what paintballers think about airsoft) also you dont have to take out a bank slip to play..airsoft bb's .25 size 5,000 of em is 10 bucks(in paintball it costs 10 bucks just to fill your hopper full

While in paintball I have seen people drag themselves in the mud or have a wet rag concealed to clean the paint.

There are also "marker BB" in the market if you dont trust the people you play against.

In Airsoft if you think someone is cheating, you say "call your hits!" - as if challenging your oponent to be honest. (i dont play either of those sports regulary, but my brother is into airsoft so I know a bit)

So if you are playing with the right kind of people, marking someone with paint or not is irrelevant.

I have played paintball with non-marker balls. The stuff was all rubber with a small air pocket inside. Some guy was crawing out of his hole after a hit, but the guy didn't make it clear he had been shot. I sent a 3 shot burst directly on his ass and saw him stand on his knees and grab is ass in shame.

Paint or not, it is a sport and it's certainly enjoyable.

It's actually not that small either, this thing looks like its a little under 1 meter, (the rough length of your standard M16 or C7). Add the fact that there's a fake magazine attached to it and you've got something that will convince most ppl from not even too far a distance that its real.

Whether this is true or not I've been told by other people I play with that the best speedball gun is an ego with a dye rotor, IMO the best sidearm is a tiberius 8.1 pistol. However, for woodsball there tends to be a huge myriad of customization between different players. A lot of people enjoy inexpensive Tippman's and BT's like the 98, a5 or combat because they're durable and since they are so mainstream they tend to be the most customizable, so you can't really go wrong.

Also, I forgot to mention that for pure economy, the Spyder Imagine is the cheapest worthwhile marker that i can think of. If I'm not mistake, 70 bucks for the marker, and i think it comes with a spyder e-trigger and barrel.

@soccermaniac103 Any gun that you are comfortable with. like everyone said, it's all opinions. Go to a shop and handle the markers until you like the feel of one. For starting out, I would recommend getting a Tippman. They're reliable and I've used them for both speedball and woodsball easily.

personally i think airsoft bbs hurt a bunch more than paintballs, at least from my experience the one time i played paintball. Like most people who play paintball haven't played in a major airsoft op where everyone has 350+ fps aegs or 500+ fps sniper rifles, and conversely most serious airsoft player have not played paintball with good markers.
