  • Such a beautifull story, such a wonderfull family, love Mom and sister. I miss Fred so much he sings like an angel.

  • She was pretty hesitant to even say "gay" but I'm just glad that she stuck with Freddie as faithful as can be. She's so sweet and I'm really glad she got a chance to meet Freddie :)

  • I am 7 and I love Freddy and Queen.. Thumbs up if you like Freddy too?

  • Happy Bday dear Freddie...

  • Did i hear it right? BIEBER?

  • @realemotion80

NOT Justin Beiber. For the love and respect of Freddie, DON'T bring that abomination up please!!!

  • @realemotion80 Brian May is speaking of a shop called Biba, that they would shop and met Mary Austin. He's not speaking of the singer, Bieber. He wasn't even born yet). Remeber this is in the 70's that they are speaking about. )

  • Love you accept - because you want the person to grow!

  • 0:09, It looks like roger is saying:gosh, fred you hit me in the nose with that thing!

  • It seems hard for her to still say it and it obviously hurt her and affected her but she was pleased for Freddie and loved him unconditionally -Lovely to see!

  • spelling mistake. Damn keyboard

  • I know this is random but I got the link from Yahoo answers...

    ps.Thanks for uploading!!

  • that is so sweet how she accepted him for who he was. when a person does that it IS real love! not just "I want to own you" but love and friendship

  • @MariooTX Me toooo !

  • damn i need to pee but im NOT GETTING AWAY FROM THIS COM I TELL YOU

  • where can i get the instrumental versionof love of my life shown here? It's fantastic!

  • I believe she is talkig about his homosexuality

  • She look's... beautiful! Then and now!

  • mary & freddie.... what a wonderful love story ... true love, when you want to see the other happy , with no strings attached.

  • such a sensitive story, you really see in the eyes of the people that they miss him terribly! he must have been a very impressive person aswell! i LOVE his work and the band, would have loved to know him!

  • Mary is really hot even older, Id love to meet a woman that cool. Im would think its easier to have a guy turn out gay than leave her for another woman

  • absolutely.. its a shame most of society insist on forcing people , or at least preasuring everyone into living how the rest do..its the biggest evil in the world, because its the root of all oppression, slavery, and control...we are all individuals that have the right to be what we want, and who we are, as long as we're not interfering with other's people right to be what they want.. if someone isnt hurting you, leave them the hell alone and accept that its not your place to interfere.. be free

  • She looks torn... =/ Poor gal.

  • If I had to choose between Jim Hutton or Mary Austin, me being heterosexual, I would keep with Jim.

  • @Maarttiin uhhh why?

  • @Maarttiin Mary was loyal to Freddie. She loved him even when he was poor and not famous. Jim didn't even like Freddie when they first met but he got to like him later and that was in the 1980s where Freddie was already famous and rich.

  • @Maarttiin Was freddie the one who followed him even months after they first encounter. If jim would't love him he wouldn't even taking care of him in his last moments. He would just disappear when he knew his life was coming to an end. Plus, freddie gave Jim aids and what did Jim do? He didn't told him at all to not make him feel bad about it. I don't like Mary because of what she did to Joe, Peter and especially Jim. I'm not criticizing what they felt in the past both freddie and Mary,

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn How do you know Jim asked Freddie that? Plus, Jim had a house in Irland next to his mother's and all of them (Jim, Joe and Peter).figured on freddie's will. Why would he want that house?

Jim not even kept the chest that freddie gave him wich had the original hand writing of Bohemian Rhapsody and it's stood in Garden Lodge. Freddie told the three of them to stay there the time they wanted to. I believe inPeter's and Jim's word . The one who stood by his side. Freddie's husband.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn Eventually Freddie had a meeting with his doctors, Jim was there too, where the told Jim that he should had a AIDS test (jim already knew that he had it for over a year). Jim access to have the test and after they call him while they were in munich to confirm what Jim already knew. So he told freddie.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn @TheJumpyPopcorn He never said that and Freddie didn't die alone. He died on Jim's arms adn with Peter by his side and at the time this happened Dave Clark was outside of the room. Sure you can believe in the one who "sells" his music as well.

Oh, about the Jacket, actually he didn't sell it, he gave it away for charity. I'm pretty sure you can HELP too, so i leave you the name of the fundations down there. Don't be stingy with your donation.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn The book was wrote a year later Freddie's death. I guess it was meant to be wroten as a catharsis to over the pain Jim felt by losing the love of his life.

And it isn't stupid to sell a jacket when you're helping disable people and kids. And if you get mad at selling thing you should be mad at Roger and Brian for selling "We will rock you" to a boy band called "Five".

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn How saying " His cock was huge" would be hurtfull for anyone? Freddie would be flattered. Freddie's wasn't shy, that was his tipical question when he met somebody "How long is your penis". So is really stupid putting that out as a betrayed.

  • @Maarttiin I agree!

  • of course freddie loved her more than anybody else he said it himself.

  • I think freddie just felt sorry for her. Mary wanted have long relationship with him but Freddie didn't had feeling for Mary because he was gay. They weren't really genually lovers, just best friends. There is big difference in that and that is reason why they broke up just like Mary said.

  • Freddie had good choice didn't he....she's damn good looking.

  • @panda123456789ed she way to attractive for him, but i guess you could get anything you want when your famous

  • @tdevil101 NONOON......when they first dated Freddie wasn't a rock star! He was a poor , struggling young artist!

  • @panda123456789ed That should read "When you're Freddie Mercury you can do whatever you want."

  • @tdevil101 When Mary and Freddie first went out Freddie wasn't even famous. Queen didn't even finish their first album. he was poor and was still working on music. So Mary loved Freddie for him and stayed with him till Freddie realized he needed something new.

  • mary is alive and well

  • More ppl should be like mary.No wonder he couldnt let her go.my heart goes out 2 her because I know what shes been thru.My husband died also from an incurable desiese & It was the worse thing Ive been thru.Theres no pain on this earth like it.I would rather be dead than go thru that again(which cant happen)Theres Nothing worse than loseing the love of ur life.Mary,I hope ur ok,& all women like us.We were lucky enough 2 know our soul-mates tho. Some ppl never will unfortuneatly.Take care! xoxo

  • Happy Birthday, Freddie.

  • Freddie and Mary seemed to share the purest kind of love for each other. Love is when you take care of the other person and always want the best for them. That's clearly Freddie and Mary. They were lucky to have found each other.

  • she says "a gay" reminded me of dafid from little Britain" But I am a gay!"

  • Seeing and hearing Mary speak of Freddie the way she does here makes my heart melt. Freddie may not have been here as long as he should have, but thank God he had such a wonderful caring friend in Mary who truly loved him.

  • Freddie and Mary =BIFFLZ FOR LIFE

  • @jumpyjedi Being Homophobic like you is the only thing that´s wrong

  • She seems to be the only one that really loved Freddie by the simple fact she doesn´t talk about his sexual life and private life like all Freddie´s boyfriends and that makes me respect her!

  • ". . . becoming a gay". Becoming "A gay"??? "Gay" is an adjective, not a noun. And he didn't "become" gay; he simply chose to finally be honest about what was already a given fact about himself - honest with himself, and with Mary. Mary does seem like a sweet and supportive person, even if a little clueless about the realities of sexual orientation.

  • That's real love man. You love the other person being happy. Not holding secrets and hating themselves for it. Bravo.

  • that baby is rogers with dominique

  • its probably very hard for her 2 talk about. Imagine yr partner saying to you the same thing. Mary supported freddie the whole way

  • Ha, she can barely admit here that he was gay. She hems and haws her way around it. It takes her 5 minutes to explain what she could have said in seconds. When she does actually say the word "gay" she stutters it out like it is a dirty word. Supportive, yeah, whatever.

  • youre absolutely right. that really annoys me how shes handling that.

  • @torpedofish

I don't believe a single word of her. She is lying.

  • is the baby Mary's holding hers?

  • 1:47 Pure hotness. ;P

  • I love how Mary and Freddie's unconditional love for each other. They would do anything to make the other the happiest they could be even if it meant letting them go. Mary looks so radiant when she talks about witnessing Freddie grow into who he became.

  • when mary ir talking about when freddie ended the relationship, she struggles to find the right words but even so she and freddie had a deep trusting friendship. Am glad freddie had somebody like her. She never judged him and shd was always there for him

  • Freddie sei sempre stato il mio idolo e lo sarai per sempre!

  • oberon where do you find these gigs ??

  • The slow piano for Love of My Life is beautiful.

  • yeah by the way there are two versions of love of my life the piano version that you can find at the night at the opera album and the acoustic guitar version that came out in late seventies

  • If Freddie trusted her till the end of his life , i would trust her too

  • @lovinhikki1 what someone you don't even know??

  • @martgonzo i remember i wrote it (wow 9 months age O.o) because some people before me have written something like 'mary cares nothing but his money'. it's hard to trust someone entirely, even that guy is your brother or sister. however, freddie trusted this woman during his lifetime (umm... obviously freddie was not a retard, he knew who she is, more than we do ), and i think, like what you've said, people don't have the right to make judgement on people they don't know. that's why i wrote it :)

  • @lovinhikki1 fair enough!

  • You are in the wrong.

  • Life is never black and white. What a wonderful woman she is to understand. Happy Birthday Freddie.....i will always love you.

  • Comment removed

  • what is the song at first seconds od video ???

  • he was very honest

  • She loved him and he loved her. Life isn't always black and white and in those days homosexuality was only just being given the understanding we have now reached. As children they both would have had views moulded by society at that time. It must have been very difficult for them both.

  • @pinkairwares indeed, you're absolutely right. I think even in 1991 when he died, Freddie's way of life still suffered ridicule. I'm glad things have changed as much as they have in the last 20 years.

  • we still love you freddie!!!!!

  • Lmao, I love the way Brian says "And again he was serious" around 0:43.

  • Mary you are one great lady.

That's what true love is all about.

  • How many women do you think would continue to be the best friend of their boyfriend who left them for men? Also, Freddie seemed to actually consider her the love of his life given his statements and his will. I think he's the best judge in this case considering we don't know the personal details.

  • @ USfan101 - I know at least one, myself. But well, whatever. What I dislike about the woman is the way she treated other people Freddie loved.

  • You're only getting one side of the story. How do you really know what went on?

  • None of us know 100%. I am not saying Mary wasn't His friend for a major part of His life. I am saying that the way she acted towards the Boys does not show her as this "loving" lady. I know the psychological mechanism behind the things she did, and therefore dislike her even more. I want to stress once again - I am not saying she didn't play a great role in His life - BUT...

  • Again, we don't know all of the circumstances behind these events, so I don't know if you are qualified to make a judgment. We've only been given one side of the story and that is from Hutton's perspective. Even if she did kick them out in the manner that has been reported it isn't that bad. Of course, I don't consider it nice or respectful, but it isn't as if she committed an atrocity.

  • She shouldn't make herself look like a saint, thought. HOMOPHOBIA is the name. She "accepted" Freddie, but whatever man was close to him was treated in a way that is VERY disrespectful. I've seen many cases similar to this one and I find it all painful - that's all.

  • Where does she make herself look like a saint? How do you know if she is homophobic or not? Don't you think Freddie Mercury would've noticed if she was homophobic given that she was probably around many of his partners over the years?

  • Oh come on. You know He adored her. He would try to justify her behaviour, just as anybody in that situation would.

And, I mean, can't you see that pose? "I was so understanding" and so on... I am very sorry to say that her attitude towards Freddie's partners seems (from what we know, ofc.) not to have been a very supportive or welcoming one.

  • You are going to have to be more specific. What pose? Where exactly does she say "I was so understanding"? That in itself also isn't that bad. Also, don't you think there were reasons Freddie Mercury adored her? How do you know so much about her attitude toward Freddie's partners? How do we know someone like Jim Hutton wasn't jealous of Freddie's relationship with her?

  • I think it's a conspiracy theory to say ALL of them were jealous. Even if u have doubts about Jim-it would be riddiculous to claim that Peter & many others around @Garden Lodge got jealous all of a sudden...The way she puts it looks like she finds herself an understanding person. But-all conspiracy theories aside - don't you think SHE looks like the jealous one?I don't want to sound all teary and silly, but it looked like Jim and Freddie loved eachother - & Mary found it impossible to accept.

  • Freddie seemed to love her more though. At least the will would seem to indicate that and the fact he asked her to spread his ashes in a location only she knows. Freddie did say in a 1985 interview that all his lovers asked him why they couldn't replace Mary Austin. Couldn't it be that both Mary and Jim were jealous of each other? I think she genuinely cared for Freddie and that is why she looks the way she does in this interview.

  • @Gajcia how can she supports them..she loved the man ..she may be tried to support him but she had every right to feel whatever she was feeling..

  • Is it just me or does Freddie kinda look like mario.

  • They both just have black hair, and a mustache. Otherwise, no

  • @carlykaiser No! Mario wears a red hat. And he has a brother named luigi who hpes the princess made lotsa spaghetti!

  • @carlykaiser No! Mario wears a red hat. And he has a brother named luigi who hopes the princess made lotsa spaghetti!

  • That's not correct.

What an idiot, is correct. You need an N.

    Idiot.

  • how does that make sense? you say "after telling her the truth" then he obviously had a secret - being gay. Saying that he "became gay" you imply that he was no gay before and was gay when he admitted it to his girlfriend, but surely if he admitted something, he knew it before he "came out".

None of us know him intimately anyway.

  • No, you're right, it doesn't make sense.

  • i find it hilarious that most people below write as if they know freddie mercury intimately - sorry guys, you don't.

  • He didn't "become" gay, he just came out.

  • Even if he would have stayed with her, he would still have been gay, 'cause he would still have been atracted to men.

  • I think by 'becoming a gay', she simply means finally admitting it.

  • What freddie loved about mary was that she loved him before he became famous so he always knew it wasn't just because of that. Almost all his serious relationships after mary came after he had aquired a certain amount of fame and success.

  • I hope he wasn't always suspecting that people around him were there because of the money... it kind of indicates a lack of self steem... though it seems he did kind of have those doubts...

  • He was becoming a gay? You mean dancing around in tights and naming his band "Queen" was all stuff he did when he was straight??? Give me a break.

  • Ho Ho - There was, as you say, a certain heterosexual inconsistency about his straight years! I can understand his reluctance to 'come out' though - he was 'different' enough; a great big label that the majority either disapproved of or laughed at wasn't something to be taken on lightly.

  • At least she stayed friends with him once he started getting involved with men.

  • I once met a guy who waited till he was 67 to become a gay... What is the normal age for that?

How does gay all of a sudden sneak up on you?

  • It doesn't. You don't become gay. It's called coming out. Accepting to yourself and/or others that you are gay.

  • he did not "become" a gay good god read the bible...god loves all

  • Freddie took Brian's girl away, LoL

  • "becoming a gay"

    wtf?

  • Notice the Love of my Life theme during some of the interview with Mary Austin.

  • They made a perfect pair.. :((

  • IS THAT FREDDIES CHILD 9:11?

  • No...it's Rory, Roger's daughter, her mother is Dominique Beyrand, Roger's first wife. The baby was born in 1986, months before the Wembley concert...where the footage of Mary with Rory was taken.

  • no Mary Austin's child

  • Freddie didn't have children.

  • no but Mary ended up having one child, perhaps its footage from after they broke up, when she had just had her child, this is all going off memory so don't take my word for it but Mary did have a child and two marriages after Freddie.

  • NO....

  • She's alive and well in England

  • Alive and well alright she is doing the interview in freddie's kensington home.

  • Lol exactly haha

  • Why not, if he gave the house to her? She is a very nice and strong person.

  • ok :) He is a good guy Brian may !!!

  • are u kidding me?? he's the guitarist for queen!!.. his name is brian may

  • lol you just get lost after 8 minutes not even understanding what mary austin was saying

  • did he smoked?

  • He started at the early 80´s, i think. It was to do a little changes in the voice.

  • 728 sounds like love of my life

  • where is the part that freddie says Hello im kim basinger sorry Freddie Mercury ??

  • Did Freddie had any son?

  • no he didn't

  • then whose this baby is?

  • what baby?

  • Mary's baby with her husband.

  • see u in heaven freddie :*

  • She died? I didn't know that... how sad!

At least they can both be together again.

  • wow, Mary Austin looks pretty good for her age

  • Mary had to fight about 8 yrs for the money and died in 2006, leaving teenage boys.... :-(

  • Is she dead? I thought "too much love will kill you", I guess too much fight over the money will kill you too!LOL. Well, at least her boys are rich now, I hope so! Did Freddie leave anything for his nephews, Kashmira's kids. I have heard one of Freddie's nephews looks just like him.

  • mary die in 2006 ?:|

  • the girlfriend of freddie was beautiful

  • freddie!!!!

  • What was the song called in the very beginning?

  • Somebody to Love

  • The very beginning? My Fairy King

  • She's a beautiful woman. I thought she might be this old woman who lost her looks. She doesn't look too bad. She really hasn't aged.

I can see why they were friends for so many years and his love of his life. I read somewhere that she made Freddie the godfather one of her first child. How sweet.

  • Yeah. I'm not jealous of her anymore now that I understand her and how it must have been very painful for her to not be Freddie's girlfriend anymore once she found out he was gay (you could tell from the vid).

  • what a sweet heart!

  • Jim even claimed Bohemian is about him, when it was written before they met. Bullocks. He even wrote a tell all book full of BS. Greedy Bastard.

  • Mary didn't kick anyone out. She simply couldn't afford to keep all the staff and some of them left because Freddie gave them a large amount in his will. The money from the will didn't come in till years later. She was thinking of giving up the house because she had no income at the time. Jim is a bitter liar, considering he was a hanger-on and got 500,000 pounds.

  • mary austin=YES! jim hutton=???
