Hmm, well, it's quite possible that it's all a set-up of sorts. When he pulls out his pistol, to me he looks as though he may possibly be threatening the British Navy, and not Gibbs.

As for the leg, I am almost wondering if he will have a peg leg or just no leg at all, like John Silver in Treasure Island.

I personally hope he gets a peg leg, I don't really like the idea of them trying to turn him into another character, myself. Plus, come on...peg legs are pretty cool.

If you look closely you can see that Rush has a large blue "boot" on his leg. It appears to be for chroma-keying later in post production. Meaning something must have happened to his leg in the movie. Plus why is he wearing that outfit? He's a pirate, not a soldier dude.

@TheSubject1157 - No, I didn't hear any actual dialogue. I was relatively close, but the tight shots here are using a 12x lens (about 400+ mm), so not close enough to hear.

When they were filming near Ko'olina area I got to see the Black Pearl pull into the Cambell harbor it was sooo cool cause a bunch of pirates were waving at us....it was kinda weird....but at least i can say i saw it lol

@jemjean / Aye, it IS Barbossa (with one leg lost). You can also see Gibbs, Gilette and Groves there. In our POTC forum, we are allready have a huge debate about that shoot / pictures of behind the scenes there. You can also see some people laying dead. Some believe, that one of the dead one looks a lot like Will Turner there. Alltough we know, this character will NOT be in PotC4 *sigh* / There are laying some parts and pieces, that look a lot like Kraken tentacles / very strange. We´ll see ...

@monkeybusiness808 - When I first got there, security was very good about letting the public watch and use cameras. I left for a while and returned about an hour later and everyone (20-30 people) had been told to leave. I was on my bike, so no parking problem. Some folks were walking from Lanai Lookout. Filming is supposed to continue on Friday 7/16, but I wouldn't be surprised if it remains closed.
