bought mine for 200 bucks, shot it and loved it. now I carry it all the time, it's very slim compared to a 1911,and ammo is cheap. I loaned it to a friend of mine, and him and his father in law shot it, the weapon started firing 3 round bursts. I took it to the range, shot over 200 rounds through it and let my 10 yr. old grandson shoot it, and I could not produce the same effect, untill my last clip it was not seated all the way, and 3 round bursts it was anybody have info why?

@fuginharley I was just looking at one. Yours is doing a lot of good for you? I liked the total simplicity of it plus the look of the round.  As for the 3 round bursts, I havent heard anybody else say that on other videos. I got one lined up for $183 :D

It is usually not about the alloy the bullet is made of, but the velocity of the bullet. I have a 1911 made by Auto Ordnance, I love it, favorite pistol hands down. Uses the .45 cartridge which is a proven man stopper but its so damn expensive, can't find a box for under 16 bucks

Soviet/Russians weapons are almost always of simple yet robust and effective design.. this pistol is a good example of that. the 7.62x25 is a good round with excellent penetrative power when compared to other pistol rounds, but in my opinion, if I had to find a handgun that is better at penetration, I'd go for the FN Five-Seven.. still, I'm a huge fan of soviet weapon design.. everything they make.. works. simple as that.

The .45, though, has more energy and usually expends 100% of its energy in its target. The 7.62x25 zips right through, therefore, it doesnt exert all its energy in the target. I still love the 7.62x25 way more than any other pistol cartridge

The gun was actually designed to be carried at the half cock notch. Some will advocate that it was carried chamber empty at the fact that guns like the 1911 are not suppose to be carried at the half cock notch, however not true for the TT33. The thumb safeties on TT-33s brought into the US should not be used since they are unsafe and were only added for importation reasons.

@falafel1860 as far as I know you should be careful with CHECH made ammo cause they are very, VERY HOT. their cz52 was made for that and will blow up yr TT33. Sovjet made ammo could be used in there ppsh and tt33.

There's a lot of things I don't like about the Tokarev.

That makes it hard to explain why it has become my favorite pistol. It's easy to carry, points really well, has a lot of power, it's super reliable, and, since I put in a new barrel it groups very tight.

A well tuned tokarev works for me.
