  • Never had much luck with this series. I've owned the first Deus Ex since it came out, but my computers have never liked it (constant crashing/freezing issues). Played IW, and was underwhelmed. With that said, should I try Human Revolution even though I have little experience with the first game beyond the first few levels? I've always felt like I've missed out on this series, even though I own the first one...

  • This one runs well, is pretty easy to get into, and is technically a prequel to the original DX, so yeah, go for it.

  • when are you going to review fallout 1 and 2

  • Eventually.

  • That's mostly true yes, but I didn't like the original deus ex at all. Human rev is a shooter, so I would enjoy that a lot more than the other deus exes.

  • They are going to continue the series. It was square's most successful game of 2011, and they allowed the studio to hire 100 more people, as well as continue the franchise.

  • Hahahaha! All were seeing is Mooodderrrrnnn Miiilllitaaarry Shooooterrr. So true XD

  • Everybody is always hating on invisible war! I mean it, wasn't the sequel people wanted but it wasn't thaaat bad right? It's just like fable3 in that sense.

  • Invisible War... Ugh... Shooting mechanics were actually worse than the original game (which is an amazing feat considering Ion Storm actually tried to improve them), the RPG mechanics were almost non-existent, storyline was total garbage, weapons felt pathetic no matter what you were using, dialogue was wimpy, inventory system sucked, everything pooling the same ammo was downright stupid, and the level design was pretty weak.

It's quite simply a bad game and an insult to Deus Ex.

  • pls review skyrim its an rpg not an action game!!!!!!!

  • @haha2339 He already stated that he will not buy Skyrim until it's at a very low price (Probably 5-10$)

  • No matter what anyone says to me, Skyrim isn't an RPG.

  • @DWTerminator Hehehe, beat me to it.

Nice review, I enjoyed Human Revolution a lot too, but yeah the ending(s) sucked.

Also, I had nearly everything maxed by the end of the game(except for the useless stuff you mentioned of course) which made it kinda pointless. I hope they'll make that impossible in the next game, if that ever comes out.

  • Yeah, hopefully the next game (which they've pretty much confirmed working on since the dev studio hired a bunch of new people after the success of HR) will improve the few issues that HR has. It's all stuff that could be fixed fairly easily, I'm sure.

  • Thanks for the review. still haven't played it because i can't decide how i want to lol.

  • I think the boss fights are hard. But I am a stealth, hacker, silent assasin kinda guy

  • I went a similar route and found the boss fights ridiculously easy... on the hardest difficulty setting.

  • @DWTerminator

Depends if you choose dermal armor what weapons you use etc. I used silenced 10mm pistol, crossbow and stun gun. grenades were EMP and concussion. Almost no combat augs.

  • Never used dermal armor in the entire game. Never really needed it since I was being stealthy and limited myself to the silenced CR and 10mm for the most part. Sure it made combat more difficult but I didn't mind that.

  • Bob Page is in the end and the beginning

  • Nice video dude, keep it up! :)

  • Good review. This is one of my favorite games. I dont have *many* complaints about it except for a few augmentations that are useless, and I noticed a bit of dependency to keep up the hacking augmentation. I played through the game twice using different augmentations on each play through, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Also got the Missing Link DLC, it didn't really special or groundbreaking to the overall story really, but it isnt a total waste of time/money to invest in.

  • Yeah, apart from the boss fights there's really nothing *wrong* with the game. It could still do with a few efficiency and practicality tweaks though.

  • good review, what will you review next?

  • Glad you liked it... and you'll find out next week.

  • I have the game for the PS3, but I keep postponing playing it. One day!

    Thanks for the review.

  • PC version's where it's at...

  • @DWTerminator matter of perspective :) So, have you tried the new Syndicate demo?

  • Demo's not available on PC + no XBL Gold.

  • @DWTerminator That sucks (no pc demo). I don't have xbl gold either, main reason why I also bought a ps3 a couple of years ago and use the 360 for few exclusives only. Hmm, well, I am trying to fix my 360 connecting online (new router fucked it up) so when I finish with that I will download the ps3 demo and let you know if you don't mind what I think about it. Which I guess doesn't help you that much. Well, the peasants that we are without the gold, should have it by next week.

  • Well the demo's co-op only (as far as I can tell) so... it'll probably require XBLG anyway unless there's some sort of splitscreen or bot system. I don't really have any 360 games worth playing online, hence the lack of XBLG, and why I miss out on a lot. Switching to a PS3 is out of the question here though (you should know why by now).

From what I've seen Syndicate 2012 is just another FPS with some gimmicks. We'll see how it actually turns out though.

  • Will you review Epicinventor, counting is for free at the moment, as you did review of Terraria recently?

  • Only reason I reviewed Terraria was because someone sent it to me for that purpose. As for Epicinventor, I don't even know what it is.

  • I agree with pretty much everything you said in this review. I didn't find bossfights to be that bothersome (they still felt out of place) and I kinda liked how they did endings (Adam justifies each option reasonably well and it leaves some things up to player to imagine how his choice affects everything), but it still feels they got really lazy with endings. It's literally "Here's four buttons, pick your ending!".

But overall, great game and I don't regret one bit picking it on Steam sale.

  • have you finished it without killing anyone?? ^^ except for the bosses of course

it took a week or so but i did it. all you need is the assaultrifle or minigun later on for bossfights and some nonlethal stuff for the ordinary enemies. the nonlethal takedowns also give way more xp than just killing them

  • I don't concern myself with a totally nonlethal playthrough... more trouble than it's worth. I ended up sniping with the pistol or doing takedowns for the most part and when stuff got crazy I'd use the revolver, CR, or grenades.

  • Christian Bale

    I never asked for this

    That was good line :D

  • Elias Toufexis must've channeled the Bale.
