yea i see alot of people are getting pissed at terminology here, but you have to understand translation of pakour to english may result in it being called freerunning even though the fundamentals and beliefs of the two paths are different. Its like people in the UK calling cookies - biscuits, get over it :P

The argument between Parkour and free run is a waste of time, no one cares. Go out and move. If you really want to break it down, Parkour is what your see in this video-using your body to overcome obstacles efficiently and fluidly, Freerunning is a term Sebastien likes to use to encompass all of his movement including parkour, gymnastics, martial arts etc. . He figured he's expanded from just parkour and wanted a term to include it all. It doesn't matter, go move.

Yes it is, free running andd parkour are often mixed up and are nothing alike.Parkour being a discipline, a skill or a way of life, whereas free running is more about showing off.Free running may be a sport but parkour is not.

parkour= getting to point A to point B as quickly as possible while overcoming obstacles. The quickest path is the path taken. Parkour has a very practical application to the real world.

freerunning= takes elements of parkour and makes them more aesthetically appealing by adding flips, tricks, and fancy movements to it. It is usually about the most interesting or challenging path. Requires more preparation.

I disagree. If you train properly, then they will take about an equal preparation. It's about bettering, not reaching a point. And in Parkour, you are actually preparing for something. It's for use in real-life runs, where to need to escape a captor, and/or avoid them.

I use it to get to points as fast as possible. Via, climbing, vaulting, jumping, and then landing. It requires alot of mental preperation, but not as much as martial arts. a combo of both is the best.
