  • Ai, que meigo, lindo, lindo

  • How did I get here?

  • i was 1 of 1 million :D

  • amazing...!!

  • Do you know that the male can produce 25 million sperms?

  • @Jenny8903ful Did you know an average male produces 100 million sperms every day ,and that's about 1157 each second?

  • why the hell am i watching this ?

  • @CallMeCarlosHoney You are watching it because.... You want to do well in science class..... You searched this.... or maybe just simply found it........

  • our bodies are natural super machines

    our brains super computers

we just don't use them correctly

  • To all males: Have you ever stopped to think that it is slightly uncomfortable to have tadpoles in your testicles?

  • @zurechtweiser are u stupid u cant fell the sperm in u for one and two u said testicles when only one testicle has sperm in it the other one has a hormone or somthin

  • DAMN NATURE, YOU'RE SCARY !

  • how come the ad-generator thingy thought that this would be a good time to ask me if I like pizza???

  • Yeeeeeeew

  • Can anyone say trypophobia.

  • GOD AWESOME XD

  • i just found out my birth was EPIC!

  • being born is like winning the ultimate most epic race against millions of other people anyone could ever imagine.

  • @glazealotabrass420 It appears to be like a race, doesn't it? In our upcoming animation on Fertilization, however, what really happens is that the sperm cells are really *helping* each other, like members of a team, to get to the egg and fertilize it.

  • @nucleusanimation when can we see animation about fertilization?

  • sperm cells: MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE

    egg cell:AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

  • ...Hey that's us

  • Abortion baby Is very sad, don't they realize it? It's cutting off baby's neck, don't they realize if they were them?

  • I WISH IT WAS THIS EASY IN REAL LIFE. all the pretty colours and everything. the stomach ulcer part was well done, but in real life it would look far much more disgusting. i love these videos. i don't know how i'm going to be a surgeon though.. oh Lawd.

  • lolololol

  • there can never be 2 sperm entering 1 egg at the same time... The case of twin happens due to a false during the embryo stage the cell duplicate itself into 2 same being... another case is 2 sperm entering 2 eggs, which is also of percent...

  • lol sperm

  • c'est vraiment magnifique....merci

  • Is our body just one big microscopic universe?

  • hey thats me

  • make a video about fertilization!

  • Yeah!!

    Better animation!

    Good work!

  • didn't know graphics were there yet... wow... Can you do DNA splitting? That would be orgasmic for a dork like me...

  • @GEOmagnets eu nao falo sua lingua mais vo dizer mesmo a sim

  • i cant believe i just read the whole Legionnaire18 and gothassassin14 argument... hahaha

  • @dbzveggito OMG.. me too.. hahahaha

  • Wow this is amazing.

  • Wonderful Work!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Truly seminal work...

  • I've read plenty of books and probably more than you ever will since you obviously aren't serious about your studies and probably spend way too much time playing Halo. So how about you get back to studying unless you're lying to me about being a medical student. Also, once again you deflect my questions. Maybe instead of dicking around on the internet you should go study or be the "adult" or hell I'll go as far as to say be a "man" and walk away.

  • AT the beginning.............look at all the spermies

  • Maravilhoso...

  • This is beautiful and amazing 3D medical animation. Nice work, Nucleus!

  • Fantastic work- 3D art at it's finest- as beautiful as it is accurate- Way to go, the gang at Nucleus is outstanding.

  • Ah-mazing!

  • Truly inspiring.

  • Me encantaria ser medico!.. XD

  • NICE 3d medical animation!!

  • I thought only one sperm cell makes it into the egg..

  • True, once the nucleus of the sperm is released into the cytoplasm of the egg, a shift in cytoplasmic ions, currents, and gradient occur, changing the membrane of the egg and preventing further intrusion from other sperms. those that you see are just many failed sperms got stuck to the surface of the egg but never made it through.

  • It only takes one sperm to fertilize an egg hence why only one makes it through and becomes (usually) one baby. The other sperm just die because they were unsuccessful in fertilizing the egg. The one sperm that does make it through to the nucleus passes on it's genetic information as chromosomes and thus starting meiosis. You can only have 46 chromosomes (23 from each parent) and if all those sperm fertilize that egg, you're going to have some problems.

  • No it doesn't. If it took MANY sperm to fertilize ONE egg then you would get MORE than 46 chromosomes. Yes only ONE sperm makes it into the egg but what you're saying is that SEVERAL sperm are fertilizing ONE egg. What you Mean is that it takes MANY to break down the surface of the egg because they're all trying to be the first to get in. Mikiemoronica is right. The rest of the sperm that didn't make it in have failed and will be dissolved.

  • Wow, you are most certainly an idiot. Please do your research on human fertilization because anyone who knows biology and human fertilization will know that only ONE sperm fertilizes ONE egg. So what you're telling me is that you have more than 46 chromosomes...amazing.

  • @Legionnaire18 Thanks for pointing out this often misunderstood concept. The process of fertilization is typically thought of as a competition or a race. As you say, it is actually a cooperative process with the majority of the sperm taking one for the team. There are many obstacles encountered during the flock of sperm's journey; the maze-like folds of the cervix, acidic environments, ciliated cells of the fallopian tube, and the corona radiata of the egg to name a few.

  • It's not about showing off "adding skills". You specifically said in your first post that it "requires many, many sperm to fertilize an egg..." But that's not true. It does take many to break down the outside coating on the egg but it doesn't take many to fertilize it. Like I said, if it took more than one sperm to fertilize one egg than you would have more than 46 chromosomes. Also I am aware of polyploidy and triploidy but right now we are discussing basic fertilization w/o these problems.

  • I did Not contradict myself. You're the one saying that it takes more than one sperm to fertilize an egg. I quoted you from your first post & I Never said that it takes many sperm to fertilize one egg like you. I said that it takes Many to BREAK DOWN the Outer Coating of the egg NOT Fertilize it. I don't know how many times I have to dumb this down for you. You're the one that thinks Tons of sperm fertilize one egg & somehow becomes 46 chromosomes.

  • You're wrong. Do you want some cheese with that whine?

"Many to BREAK DOWN the Outer Coating of the egg NOT Fertilize it."

So fertilization isn't happening without the outter coating being broken down. That takes many sperm. You admitted this. You were wrong. Now suck it up.

"You're the one that thinks Tons of sperm fertilize one egg & somehow becomes 46 chromosomes. "

I never said that. Go back to your book on semantics because you suck at it.

  • See, you just said that if only one sperm makes it into the egg then it wouldn't get fertilized thus implying that it takes Many sperm to enter the egg and fertilize it. I don't suck at anything here. In fact you're the imbecile who obviously missed a class or two on this whole process and disregarded the factual links I posted. So YOU "go back to your book on semantics (apparently this is your favorite word) because you Extremely suck at it. :)

  • Like AceGenetics said earlier, and you are still in denial about, it takes many sperm for fertilization to occur.

  • I'm not "in denial" about Anything. Here let me break it down for you--Super Simple.

Millions of sperm are released, not all of them make it to the egg (if one is present), all of them are breaking down the outer coating of the egg to get inside and fertilize it but finally, only one makes it inside the egg and the rest of the sperm will be dissolved by the body. Right away the process to develop a baby starts.

I've been trying to tell you this the Entire time!

  • I don't know what's funnier. The fact that you don't realize that you've been agreeing with me the entire time or the fact that you admitted such when you said that you're never wrong.

But hey, you're just a kid so what else is expected?

  • Actually what's funny is that your poor use of word choice & ridiculous immature comebacks makes you appear more like 13 yr old instead of 26. Plus I never said that I was "never wrong" I just said that I was never wrong about this. Once again, your poor choice of words. This time saying that I proclaimed, "I am never wrong" or in your context, "You are never wrong." I may be young but I'm a college student who is well more mature than others my age and at least I'm not almost 30.

  • You weren't entirely *wrong* about your understanding. You just had a very simple conceptualization of how fertilization takes place. Then you just moved your goal posts to accommodate your argument. Like how you said you are never wrong, now you deny saying that.

  • I didn't "move" anything. Did you not read my last two posts? Are you that aliterate? (and no, I don't mean iliterate). I DID say that was never wrong...About THIS. I did Not state though, that I was Never wrong about Anything. My god, you must be really ignorant to not catch that after I thoroughly explained it.

  • I bet you already have wrinkles and are near to having a midlife crisis. Besides if you're going to call me "kid", which I am actually an adult, unlike you, then shouldn't you be the "responsible adult?" because this whole thing makes you look like a huge prick. People will think, "Oh yeah, that's mature. This jerkoff is picking on some 'kid' about fertilization. Wow."

  • Right, I'm six years older and you're acting like you're ten. Now you call me a prick? Yes, very, very mature of you; hence pointing out that you're just a kid. You certainly do not act older than 30. You don't admit that you're wrong, you have a poor grasp of human reproduction, in addition to having a pitiful understanding of what you're arguing(not realizing you were agreeing with me the entire time, just that you didn't follow).

Being adult and acting like an adult are two separate things.

  • I'm not acting like I'm ten and once again, because you can not read (perhaps you need glasses?), I said this whole thing makes you look like a huge prick. It makes you LOOK LIKE a huge prick. There is a difference incase you didn't know, between Looking like something and actually BEING something. You see now you have deflected everything I said to try and bring me down but you are failing miserably. Please go back to playing your lame video games as noted on your channel.

  • Oh haha. He makes jokes about age even though I'm only six years older and younger people than me wear glasses anyways.

Go invest in a biology class, kid. And a logic class because you don't understand the concept of mutual exclusion, among other things.

  • I did invest in a biology class. I'm in college. I don't need logic class because I know plenty and as a human being, I still am learning hence being a college student. Who honestly cares about mutual exclusion? I know about it but I don't need to brag or spend forever talking about the stupid concepts. Besides, if you want to talk about understanding things like mutual exclusion, try understanding everything about computer programming and my major, Japanese.

  • Thank you for proving that you are not only aliterate (re-read it) but now I'm starting to think that you are illiterate. Oh woo, you're a "medical student." Well, what the hell are you doing spending so much time here? Why not go study for your medical exams? I mean one day you might be saving lives right? Or are you the kind that doesn't do much in your medical field? Either way, the people don't need their doctor fucking things up right? Get back to work, nurse in training. :)

  • Once again, I am not a "kid". I am an adult and if you continue to call me this, would you prefer I call you child or geezer? Also for the record, just because you're six years older than me doesn't mean you're wiser or more intelligent. There are Plenty of people older than me who are complete imbeciles.

  • I just happen to be wiser and more intelligent. It's just the nature of me being me.

  • Surre...everyone seems to think that they're more intelligent and wiser than everyone else. It's not the nature of you being you, it's simply the nature of being a human.

  • Semen contains millions of sperm but not all of them make it to the egg and only one actually makes it inside the egg. There is no way in hell that only one sperm would be able to travel all that way without being "killed".

  • It was a hypothetical statement. Reading comprehension with you = no.

  • "See, you just said that if only one sperm makes it into the egg then it wouldn't get fertilized thus implying that it takes Many sperm"

I didn't say that. I said if only one sperm makes it TO the fucking egg, then it's not getting fertilized by that one sperm alone.

  • Having additional sets of chromosomes is polyploidy and does happen in some cases(triploidy). It's usually deadly.

  • Dude, Mikiemoronica and Gothassassin14 are right. I don't know where you got your information from but you are wrong.

  • For one, I'm not a boy and I never admitting being wrong about anything.

  • Yeah, I see the mentality of the kid I'm arguing with here.

  • actually only one sperm can fertelize an egg. but millions are released during climax to maximize the chances of fertilization

  • Exactly. Thank you.

  • It takes many sperm for fertilization to occur. In order for Meiosis II to proceed for the ova, the sperm must break down the corona radiata with their acrosomal suite of enzymes. This requires MORE than just one sperm. That's the point. One can't get it done alone.

  • @Mikiemoronica Just a question so it's never possible for multiple sperm to enter the egg at the same time? Are twins just formed by a fertilized egg splitting?

  • @Sadowski40 yup. One sperm, one egg= fertilization. identical twins= that same egg split. fraternal twins= two eggs two sperms=fertilization.

  • i guess that egg is just lucky

  • awesome, you guys really out did yourself keep making more!

    Max P (A.K.A. MrBasketball1011)

  • amazing, if you just upload long videos , it would be more amazing.

    thanx ^_^

  • That's beautiful, it's fun to try to think of what's happening in each clip! :)

  • WOW! Nucleus is evolving into something even more amazing!

  • 1:25 what was THAT!?

  • @nevroth looks to me like smooth muscle cell moving through adipocytes all the way to blood vessel to fix something ;)

  • That's a smooth muscle cell migrating into the lumen of an atherosclerotic artery. An aggregation of smooth muscle cells will attempt to widen the lumen to mitigate the effects of advanced atherosclerosis.

  • Thanks! I found the video about it, but now I'm curious as to why those smooth muscle cells do that. I can search online for that though, thanks again

  • Wonderful, wonderful medical animation... LOVE the music!!

  • it's so beautiful... *-*

  • I love 3D animation, this compilation of work is very impressive

  • Excellent demo reel showing your fantastic capabilities in 3D medical animation!

  • Wow. Really fantastic 3D animation...

  • The BEST!

  • Great new demo reel! This really shows off your skill at 3D animation!

  • nice video!! 5/5

  • I love these videos.

  • ew at ulsers :(

  • i absolutely love learning about the body. although i'm sadly not meant for the medical field, or so i believe, nevertheless i'm always eager to watch these videos :]

  • 1st and wow nice
