  • What's with the big doo doo block?

  • this is woth blender O.o

  • Minecraft Lb Photo Realism 93004 x 30000

  • Unbeleviable

  • thats the largest continent in miniminecraft history

  • How long to bake?

  • @Toxiclevideos this isnt a fluid sim. a lot of peeps get that wrong. Im guessing its a subdivided plane, given a cloud texture, set to displace and move. Simple animation.

  • Please actually upload a blender project next time, not a recording of you looking at the sea with your camcorder.

  • @gamerdude295 that is blender :p

  • @SirCookieTheDJ It's a joke to say it's really good

  • Texture pack plox

  • I would make the water less bumpy if you can, otherwise, great animation.

  • Greattt :) that was my first approach to water faking but in 2.61 there's the ocean modifier. its way more realistic :) nice job

  • i cant wait for the day when we have to scale oceans running real time in video games

  • @DanielSturk1 Wait for the ability to install 50Gb of RAM as well... XD

  • Its the beginning of the all new 2001: A Space Odyssey.

  • It's an animated normal map I think or its a translating seamless shape movement using empties. Also uses ray mirror and ray transparency...

  • @Jacquelinemathias which blender?

    2.49 or 2.5+?

I still use 2.49 simply because its more stable than the current version of 2.5 I have.

The hotkeys to create objects in 2.49 is space and in 2.5 it's ctrl-A, rotation is r selecting axis of rotation with x,z, or y, G is translation. The modifiers and texturing panels are on the right for 2.5 and on the bottom for 2.49 basic shape options are on the left (2.5). Thats the very basics, look up procedural texturing and UV unwrapping tutorials to le

  • it should move about 1.5 times as fast

    I think

  • that land seems to remind me of minecraft mossy stone...

  • i can't use blender, it's so hard to understand! anyone can explain to me? how to use?

  • @jacquelinemathias so u must click and then click again on stuff, you can use the keyboard too if you want

  • @jacquelinemathias I would suggest that you download latest official release of Blender (2.60a) and while waiting it to download, head to blendercookie(d)com and check getting started tutorials. Also blenderguru(d)com has excellent tutorials. There are more, like blendtuts(d)com but you'll find them as needed.

It seems hard at first, it's 3D modeling after all, but Blender is very flexible and easy to use. The hard part is not the program itself.

  • @refa42 Thank you, you helped a lot!

  • I tried making water like that, my computer exploded.

  • Looks real

  • Mossy cobblestone

  • tutorial?

  • FAKE!!

he put a cube in the sea & filmed it!

  • @bulldozerHW Really now, really? This isnt fake. Its a sea water animation made with Blender. Even if the water looks real you could tell it was made through animation -__-

  • @shadowcloak5 i know..... it was a joke

  • @bulldozerHW Well Im sorry, I could'nt tell it was a joke.

  • @shadowcloak5 never mind... it doesn't matter anyway :P

  • its like that scene from madagascar when alex falls off the boat in his crate

  • thats a video, like from a camera

  • The block looks fake but the water? WOOO that's good!

  • Waves are a little high for the speed the water is moving. Other than that it looks great.

  • HEY, nice spear, oh, wait, thats the like bar :)

  • when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a photograph lol

  • this is fake guys, I read on wikipedia that he used a russian camera to record to ocean.

  • @TheTechBite Where is this on Wikipedia?

  • =O

    Woooow!!!

  • But will it blend?

  • @xao92k Yes. Yes it will.

  • the land... minecraft anyone???

  • @cooldood45100 SuperSweetHoney

  • It looks realy realistic but be carfull looks like the water is going throu the cube

    i like the effect

    good work

  • Comment removed

  • I Clicked On This Thinking The thumbnail Was a Comparison to blender water... but it wasthe blendr water

  • i think he spent the weekend at the beach.......:D

  • TOO GOOD SIMULATED *__*

  • Is that real water or is is too good simulated?

  • water looks great but i think its flowing movement should go a little faster. other than that looks awesome.

  • Water didn't collide with the block ;)

Looks realistic. xept for that ^

  • How long did that take to render?

  • gay

  • If you'd make the Sea a little less jelly-like, I'd sure believe this is real.

  • amaizing

  • wow amazing work

  • That's why a love blender! :)

  • I feel like a retard.... I don't even know HOW to make water in the first place.... :P

  • bro, we (as viwers) were expectiong a blender project thingy, not vido taping a "real" brick in water. ;)

  • A video tutorial on this with an object that floats and bobs in the water would be good. If you made it to work with the game engine it would be great!

  • i think that is real water.. which makes this video fake!

  • @BruisedASScheeks clever

  • good animation,

  • water is waving around too much.

  • I think the water is not interacting with the cube

  • must be fake. He just taped real water.

  • @AstroGnomical No, no he didn't.

  • this water best realistica

  • fake

  • @JoakimJockeHansson how the fuck is it fake?

  • @GregD6699 it's fake

  • too lumpy in my opinion, and yes, too slow, good job though.

  • Specularity is bang on but it's moving much too slowly and uniformly.

  • jealous.

  • very real! good job!

  • The individual waves seem a bit to high for the speed that they're moving at but other than that its probably the most realistic ocean-water material I've seen so far.

  • Too slow

  • @TheBlueReptile not its not

  • @De2t3ny It is thought. The size of the waves indicates a fast paced but not too powerful water movement. The speed indicates a slow paced one. If it was sped up, it's look far better

  • Why you no sell to some game densenvolver? Because this water is the most real that i did look.

  • I saw the thumbnail on yt frontpage, thought, nah, I don't watch a stupid block in the RL sea. Then I read, blender water test. WOW

  • You do realise that if you didn't mention Blender or that it was an animation, you could probably fool anyone that watched this into thinking it was real water :) nice job

  • the material and lights seens to be fine but you need to improve the fluid animation (physics)

  • If you take that weird dick thingy in the middle out.... and make the camera shake a little.... I would have thought it was real

  • Verry cool, but the water looks a little static

  • the water looks great it would have been nice to have seen the reference object bobbing about in it a bit to add to the effect

  • on the picture of the vid i thought it was real water

  • Good, but when you really look at the pattern of the water its clearly cg.

  • It's a little bit clumpy...

  • aint that just real water done in voodoo lol?

  • Awesome! Very good

  • I feel like playing an old game from N64 now. Like Bomberman.

  • I also like it.. I think maybe the lighting can be further adjusted.

It seems the highlight of the reflection (the white spots) makes it a bit unreal..

  • Thats really good!

just i don't think sea water is quite that bumpy if that makes sense...

it looks almost like real water though well done :P

  • @abarnybox Actually, seawater is the bumpy. I would know, I live on the ocean

  • @zacharydm5 note: I have seen the ocean before...i know what waves look like, i just think there are a little too many/too pronounced

only my opinion, i can but give my opinion

  • @abarnybox All any of us can really do is give our opinion. And I never said you didn't know what the ocean looks like. But I live ON A BOAT. I know very well what it looks like at all times during the day during all sorts of weather, & during all seasons of the year...this hits it pretty much directly on the spot on every way

  • I looked true seawater at first.

  • Good, but not perfect. The water doesnt interact with the cube at all. and i feel like the water has too much vertical displacement. Also you can see the bump map or displaced texture just moving to one side, water doesnt move like that

  • @enjoiskate11 agreed.. with mentioned tips this could be very desirable seawater settings

  • The cube isnt set up like obstacle, is it?

  • This looks awesome! Why don't you make a tutorial about this?

  • Nice water mate

  • No way this just got to be real water

  • @rubenhoed are you serious....? do you know how real water looks...? though this is one of the best water render I've seen so far.

  • hmmm not to sure whats with the cube the water is going through it. but oh well i like

  • shading and material is ridiculous, this is friggin real man.

  • How do you animate textures?

  • How do you animate textures?

  • This video makes me want to go swimming ;o

  • that is amazing.. and I could never make that in my life.. so don't take this the wrong way.. if you just would add a little bit of change in the water it would make it look perfect.. everything was amazingly real.. amazing job

  • awesome!!! tutorial plss just a quick one,,

  • dreamscape is going down.

  • one thing I just noticed (don't take this the wrong way; like I said, looks real) is that the specular is too sharp/ round. If you used the plane displacement technique with a cloud texture, I would raise the depth in the clouds OR add another cloud texture with the same depth, just a little smaller and with less of a displacement.

Still looks amazing, though. The material is nearly perfect.

  • If the spec were a little lower... that could pass as real water.

  • damn

  • looks nice shame about the compression

  • the water looks real...

  • The shading in the water is awesome but the specularity could use some softening o:

  • omg i didnt know blender could do that O_o its so realistic

  • Looks good, but specular seems kinda intense...

  • Hey i think its look like real water !

  • @shaked41 you think

  • the water looks awsome tut?

  • @L1993H Tut = Go to a electronics shop. Buy a camcorder. Go to sea. Film sea. ??? Profit.

  • material on the water is just perfect. any chance you could share the settings?

  • The textures are perfect!

  • average!it good to have a tutorial some day :)

  • amazing 5/5

  • Wow! That looks great, really realistic. 5 stars! :)
