Straight laces is what SWAT members have, and for good reasion too. Say your foot was stuck under something heavy and you needed to slit your foot out... well straight laced, you can pull a knife down them and cut all laces easily. Thus making it easier to take off your boot.

It's easy =] just put the lace evenly through the bottom two holes so that the middle is on the outside. Then, take one end of the lace, and SKIP A HOLE, then string it through the next one so there is an empty hole below it. Lace the other side through the first hole on that side, and skip the next one instead. You know you did it right if you can cross over the front and there is an empty hole. Then just keep going :)
