"Gashapon" isn't a company, it's the Japanese word for "capsule toy." I believe it's an onomatopoeia and refers to the Japanese words for the sounds the gashapon machines make.

they are pretty cool! I remember an old Gameboy version of these that came from one of those vending machines that you get the egg out of. Lost it at school when I was about 12. Extremely annoyed.

i have a few miniaturized sega console toys that are very similar to these. i have no idea in the slightest if the same company made them though :<
Namcot is NOT a typo, I have a SFC game that also says Namcot.
Wiki: "When Nintendo began producing its Famicom home console unit, Namco started the development of game titles for it, beginning with Galaxian, which had first been introduced to arcades in 1979. Video games for this console were released in Japan under the moniker Namcot (with the letter t at the end)."
