I need some help! I got this telescope a while back, and too be honest, I have tried too look at planets like jupiter, mars, saturn... and all I see is a tiny dot. I have put in the lens to magnify it to the biggest image and still nothing! You said you saw saturn and jupiters moons! I need help on how to do this :(
@WatchmenDrManhattan That is a very good question, without trying it I can't really comment but the fact that the celestron travel scope has an erect image means that everything will be the right way up instead of back to front and upside down like the Firstscope is so that would certainly make for an easier entry into astronomy. I can't really say more than that without trying them properly, but I would shop around and see what you can find price wise.
@WatchmenDrManhattan This is the one I was referring to, if you can get something like this cheap then it should be a good start! celestron. com/c3/ product.php? CatID=77&ProdID=546
@smt1988 I think it depends on what you expect from an entry level telescope at this price, I was having a look at Jupiter and 3 of the moons last night and while it is in no way a super detailed close up view of the planet I could still see and understand what I was looking at, I wouldn't want to try and do extensive sky observations with it but for the casual user it is a cheap way to have a look at a few things in the sky, all the classics, andromeda, orion nebula, saturn, jupiter the moon!
Thanks for the great review! I have been considering astrophotography for a while but i've been held back by steep investment required for a decent enough scope. I came across this telescope and its cheep enough to enter and enjoy a new hobby while I save up to what I really want to do. :) Thanks again for the review!
Thanks a lot, your review was very useful to me. After watching it, I'm now decided: This will be my first telescope! :)
Thanks,
