King of the WWF was Awesome. Race to Duggan to Haku to Savage. It was something for the midcarders to win, without giving them a belt and was a gimmick in itself. It would never work anymore, but I loved it.

I saw this! I was pumped, finally a face King! Haku was a boring King, Harley Race was hilarious when he wore the crown, so he and Hacksaw would be my favorite kIngs, while Haku, and Lawler are the WORST, (ESPECIALLY lawler) Savage was a good wrestler and entertainer, but not King. No way did Studd look in better shape than Andre in this era. Go see Andre's matches from this era again! The big man STILL had it!

I remember Haku and Andre the Giant sneak attacking Jim after a squash match.Jim fought off Haku but ran into Andre's chokehold.I loved the way Big John Studd came in to make the save.Boy I never saw Andre get manhandled.Studd gave him a gutshot&Andre fell out of the ring.Andre tried to get back into the ring. Studd hit him over the head Andre flipped back into the ring.They exchanged punches and Andre fell down again.Studd/Duggan had several matches w Andre/Haku in house shows 89'

Yeah that sucks I thought Studd was finally going to slam and pin Andre.Andre and Studd were mortal enemies.Hillbilly was okay but I loved Studd against Andre better.I wonder if they have any of those tag matches with Andre/Haku vs Stud/Duggan or Andre as a heel vs Studd as a face Those matches really took place in those house shows across the country.I wonder if there is any tapes of those match ups.I'd love to see them.I only saw them in the wrestling magazines where they covered this feud

I read in Andre's new book that the reason Studd left the WWF was that he was legitimately scared of Andre in the ring. He thought Andre didn't like him and was worried one day that Andre was just going to beat the shit out of him in one of their matches. After a TV taping in June he left and was pretty much never heard from again

I thought Studd was fustrated because he went through all that trouble to get himself back into shape for a comeback and he gets stuck battling Andre the Giant all over again in a sideshow freak battle with no titles to compete for not even tag team belts.Studd to me looked better than he did 3 years earlier a little slower but he still looked a lot better than Andre did
