I saw the suburbs when I was in Minneapolis. They were an outstanding band. The sound (if you listen to it on your computer) can't come close to what they sounded like live. The Special X poured from the bar when they played. Credit in Heaven is an outstanding work of art. Too bad they never made it on a national level. This could of been the height of the Minneapolis music scene in the early to mid 80's along with Prince and Lamont Cranston Band as well as the Replacements.
O.K. - this was my favorite band when I was in HS. Saw them at Zoogies (the Longhorn) and it was so much fun. And oh yeah, there was an album by another Minneapolis band called "Sorry Ma" - classic. Classic. Guess I'm old now, but I still love the music...
@federesco11 ...That's "Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Thrash" by the Replacements. Another excellent Mpls band. I never got to see them live...bummer.
Thank you for posting this. Suburbs were great. I'm only 21, but my mother worked with bruce allen's sister and gave me all these old ass cassettes that I fell in love with! I was lucky enough to see them at the state fair a few years ago before bruce unfortunately passed.
The Longhorn was just before my day. I loved the Suburbs but I was underage. I turned 21 in time to see their last show at First Ave before breaking up and I saw their first reunion show. I also saw Husker Du's last show at First Ave and I'm waiting for that reunion too, just as soon as hell freezes over.

I must say with great sadness that won't happen. At least not with Bruuuce in the lineup.
Maybe Chris can fill in for a Burbs memorial reunion?
RIP Bruce. You meant a lot to me.

Grrrreat song from Credit In Heaven...grrreat double album that doesn't seem to get mentioned too much in conversations of double albums.
