@4point6Chris Yes, Walton Goggins plays Boyd Crowder. And honestly, in response to smodelux, the show would suffer if either Olyphant or Goggins were dropped from the show.
@fede018 I love all men women and children as a bhuddist, but how can you dispise both sides of the spectrum? Music is music. Most of it sucks for sure, but in your blood, you know what's good and what sucks. Realize it's all about someone trying to strive to make their mark. God knows I tried and failed.....be open hearted is my free advise...give these Z lister's a chance.
@roodog1974 Yeah but theres a difference between making a mark on the music biz aswell as the lives of your listeners and shit that just clogs the radio all day.
i dont mind a couple of seconds of it for like a theme song to an awesome show, but i think the overall song is kinda shitty. except the blugrass part.
and he's playing the bad guy in "die hard 4" and he's the hitman in hitman, where he does a really good job by giving the hitman a character. I like this actor. I would like to see him much more in todays movies. He's got that coolness, that most of today's hollywood actors haven't.
But I still don't care for cussin in music. Too many people using cussin to communicate when the English language is so rich and ample with words. When I encounter someone who speaks mostly in cusses, I dismiss them as N.C. -- "no class." Part of the reason I dislike rap, and why I want everyone to lift themselves up from the street jargon. That said -- I still think Gangstagrass shows some innovation here.
@CreoleCW From NYC or not, you show the true nature of what it is to be "country." Hats off to you my man, maybe one day thanks to honest men like us (and many others obviously, just trying to use an example) there can be some element of class restored to the younger kids coming up in our society. I picked my 12 year old brother up from his seventh grade class one day and i heard more cussing than you'd find in a Comedy Central stand up act. It truly is a total shame.
@CreoleCW I was born and raised in Colorado, taught all the right values, and listened to country. Now here I am, trying to explain why i am who i am, and these kids just dont get it. Now, i'm gonna drop a bomb on you. read through what i just said to you, then read it again, but this time knowing i am only 18 years old. I want more people to see from my point of view, and maybe more young adults my age might have a better chance for their future. Problem is, everyone is just too self absorbed.
@CreoleCW one final comment, i noticed how your first line states "I'm a man of color..." and i just wanted to tell you that to a true gentleman, color makes not a bit of difference. Look forward to hearing from you my friend
@cdudeNYR Thanks so much for your replies and compliments. Refreshing to see such thoughts coming from a member of American youth. Keep true to yourself and I expect you'll be a shining example to young people everywhere of how to be upstanding and carry oneself. Indeed, we've become self-absorbed, and even separatist culturally, in recent years. Like Afro-Celtic music, Gangstagrass brings different cultures together. Did I mention this man of color also likes to sing country? Yep. ;)
I'm a man of color originally from NYC who became a novice horseman in L.A. I don't dip but I do 2-step; wear my Wranglers, ropers and Stetsons; and like my pickup, country music, horses and trains. As country Oreo as can be (LOL)! Looked up "Justified" and this song after seeing Olyphant on "The View" today. I don't care for rap -- prefer my Old School Motown/Philly -- but it's interesting how this Gangstagrass mixes 2 traditionally unmixable genres. Might hafta check 'em out some more.
The track is official. Yet it is by no means a new music genre. It's rap with a blue-grass melody. Just because the hip-hop samples a joint from a new genre doesn't make it a new genre og hip-hop. Its HIP HOP. That's what it does. It synthesizes different musical repertoires into looping music structure to serve as the track over which lyrics are rhymed and interplayed. At some point EVERY music style will find its way into a hip-hop track. But its all hip hop.
@TheMashupMessiah wait wait wait... you dont like country music, but you want a kickass cowboy hat? I'm sorry son, but you need to embody the cowboy in order to correctly wear the hat. From Colorado, born and raised, now living in the dumpster that is New Jersey. I'm the only one besides a couple of my crazy redneck buddies that likes dip, the south, country music and trucks. That said, this song makes me respect hip hop.
I need ME a hat like Raylan Givens... mine is on the way out :(
@cdudeNYR Well...I get your pride in where your from, and the country lifestyle you like. I respect your pride in that, but all I'm saying I'd like that hat from a different point of view. I don't want a cowboy hat because I'm not a fan of country music...I want a Raylan Givens hat because I like Justified.
@TheMashupMessiah Here's some trivia re the hat. Elmore Leonard, writer of the novels on which "Justified" is based, didn't like the hat Timothy Olyphant picked. Leonard was concerned the hat could easily blow off in the wind, unlike the hat Leonard picked for the character. Anyway, do yourself a favor: When you visit your nearest Western wear store to get your hat, take a few minutes and educate yourself about how it's shaped and worn. Can't hurt to be a bit more enlightened.
@CreoleCW lol that is true, thanks for the info. But truth is, I was just kidding I'm probably not gonna buy a cowboy hat. Hell, I don't think I've ever seen let alone been in a western wear store around my city.
@o82774 agreed. I'm a redneck living in New Jersey (might as well be in hell haha) and this is in no way country. It's a hell of a tune, and normally i'd take rapping to a country sound as an insult, but there's just something about this song. well said, my friend.
Hey it's cool the tri-state got a gentleman "good ole boy" style like you to (maybe) show that area some REAL culture. lol Hey just playing Jersey is cool but it's nice to have ambassadors from the heartland to keep it real.
come on!!!, really? I tought about "justified" as I think about "Red red redemption", as a bad ass cowboy swinging his gun at bad guys with a strait face and you come at me with "country rap", seriuslly... COME ON!!! Shit!!!
