Coldplay seem to have changed the style of music they originally played with the album Viva but to be quiet honest the quiet style of music they started with is the best hence maybe this is why they never won any Brit awards which was quiet rotten in a way.

Viva went well in the USA but maybe the boys could learn from their own mistakes.

strip down the songs people...play an acoustic guitar or paino to any of the songs on viva la vida and you will see that the songs are just as great as any other songs they have ever written. Lost, Death and all of his friends, Yes, Viva la vida...all of them. all thats changed is theres just more studio backing them up. the songs are amazing as they always were.

The great songs are getting increasingly masked by studio fluff. Though I think Viva is a huge step up from X&Y where the lyrics (mostly half-assed from what I can tell) held back even the best melodies they had in them... At least Chris is taking the time to not always pick the obvious rhymes again. :)

They really are an incredible band. This performance is amazing. I hope their next album is closer to Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head. Trouble, Sparks, Shiver, The Scientist, Amsterdam, In My Place, God Put a Smile on Your Face...Truly brilliant songs.
