Did you need a permit or was it okay since there weren't any lights set up?

Great question! I chose to shoot on a partly cloudy day, so I could get as much even lighting as possible.

I did speak to the Mayor's office and they said if use all of your equipment on camera, you don't necessarily need a permit. Although I recommend getting one whenever you can since they're free.
