Roofing houses is some of the hardest work there is but there ain't nothing I'd rather do, because we get a call nearly once a week and go out to work for ourselves instead of working for someone else.
The pay is good because there's no boss man taking a cut off the top, and we decide things democratically.

Capitalism perpetuates the permanent welfare state & the assured eternal separation of rich and poor. True and good moral and religious upbringings in all honesty cannot support capitalism, when there is that separation. Whoa to the rich, charity, kindness & love to all humanity...clearly, the messiah was a socialist!
co-op ethics morality, really, dont get involved with them,i have learnt the hard way, benefits are not passed around, they empty your pocket and hide behind a sea of legal arsewipes, you have been warned
offmyswede. why do you think they can afford to pay you £500 each year from their profits, they pay the smallest amounts to the farmers than any other company for the dairy products then charge a much larger retail price to its customers, hence their large profit margins, then pay their members to keep their mouth shut.
In answer to some questions: the co-op are above minimum wage and each year they also pay out a share of their profits not just to it's customers but also it's employees. Last year I received an extra £500 in my July pay for being an employee directly from the profits.
the coop are more ruthless than the public know, they try and crush smaller companies setting up business, they charge high prices and pay there staff poorly.
+ why is the speaker for the coop adverts a Scott when the coop was founded in England?
If the co-op claims to be so wonderful and farm-loving etc. then why is the alcohol section of my local branch so much bigger than the fruit and veg section? About twice the size, in fact.
Co-operatives are the way the wind is blowin' alright. With the way corporations are polluting while at the same time giving their CEO's huge bonuses for their failures, I put my money on the co-operative movement.
Brilliant advert - the school kids bit was filmed in my street and I'm in the background mowing someones lawn and my Dad is washing the car! Didn't know it was on You Tube never thought of looking for it!
Just seen the BBC program Britain's Really Disgusting Food Which say The Co-op pay the British dairy farmer the least for their milk "It costs a dairy farmer 27.9p to produce a litre of milk out of the top 5 supermarkets the Co-op pay the farmer the least which is 23.89p per litre" so that's not very ethical when the farmers loose out!
This advert after watching it serveral times :) shows the good businesses such as the cooperative group actually do and really made me reconsider the supermarket chains i shop with. for me being able to shop with a retailer which farms in the country it trades in, is ethical and far on every stance and really does believe in giving something back to the community, i think that good for everyone.. well done cooperative..
I love this advert. I rarely see it now. I've always thought of the co-op as some corner shop chain, but doing some research, they're obviously way more than that. It's good to know that not all companies are there just to make some money.
The Co-operative has banned pesticides and put up bee hives on the farms, all part of plan b. look at the co-operative website for more details on the list of banned pesticides. But still low pay at the co-op, raise the legal min. wage to at least £6.00 pw.
The Co-operative obviously don't do their research properly. The declining Bees in the UK has resulted from pesticides incuding the largest farmer in the uk - The Co-Operative.
"The Penn scientists said they were certain these chemicals were the problem. They found one bee with 35 different pesticides in it, so no wonder there's a problem." "
whoever reads this look at the comment from matthewg125, "do you really think its impossible you closeminded SOAB?" its a way of saying its very good do you need me to explain it to you, you MF!!!
yep, and think of all that unsold wasted food you throw out. Supermarkets make great profit and do so by putting minimum amount of cashiers on the checkout
thats not possiable because you said out of 10 which means 10 is the highest so having 100 is actually in correct. probly american
lol anyways good song and great add however the staff are not paid well sure sharing is good but you must not forget about the onces who are making it happen
excellent song. shame the person singingit isnt bob dylan. nice to call someone 'my friend.' the most beautiful song dylan wrote, keep up the good work dylan mate!
It's great to see a company which cares for the environment, for humankind, and does not just set-up to rake in money for fat-cat managers and shareholders.
Haven't you thought that being "Green" might just be another gimmick for these companies. If you run this type of company or work for one then you may know what I'm saying. Then again, I guess not everyone thinks the same way as I do. However, the song in this advert is good. Can you drop us a line to tell me who sings this version. Thanks & Take Care.
all the Co-op's profits, go back into the community or back to its customers or maintaining its stores, unlike Tesco, Asda, Morrisons or Sainsbury's where the shareholders and exec's take home all the profits,
Do some research into the origins of the co-operative movement in the UK and you will see that they have always been ethical - from the 19th century to date. So to respond to your statement - many companies do use "green" credentials as a gimmick but not the jolly old Co-op!!
what does the dylan song have to do with the concept of a co-operative ?

But it's the ruthless Tesco, Walmart & the like that will dominate the world; all the fluffy stuff costs money.
