Renouncing the world is similar to the teaching of Buddhism. To enter Nirvana or enter Kingdom of God, one must renounce the world.

So it is obligatory for the people to follow this new messenger and support him, even if they were followers of the old one which he himself was a messenger too, but since his message is no longer valid they should take with the new one which is the original.
so this is the whole story, and now the Final messenger sent by God after Jesus PBUH is Muhammad PBUH. While believing in all the Prophets God sent and in the 1 message, we should take the religion now God had reveled on his messenger.

A note on last segment about Peter. There's a good point brought up. If Jesus was omnipotent and was god incarnate, then he wouldn't have suffered on the cross. He's god. God doesn't suffer. If Jesus was capable of performing miracles then he's capable of not suffering on the cross.
And my personal opinion is god doesn't make anyone suffer. I don't believe this garbage in the bible about Job, Lott, Cain and Abel, and Noah. Apart from being impossible, those stories serve no useful purpose.

@netelsg and believe me, I have looked for the KOG and never found it, just as so many friends and family-members of me. but I also looked at how religion works in an anthropological sense. the constant appeal to fear for death, this for obvious reasons one of the core-elements of christianity. some people, so it seems to me, just have a hard time growing out of Iron Age mythology and their personal fears. KOG is a nice answer, but therefore certainly not necessarily true.

A complete answer to the Kingdom of God can be found in the Gospel of Thomas. It's a pity that the Gospel of Thomas has been banned from the Bible. Why is it banned? Most probably because of this saying in Gospel of Thomas "Saying 110 - Jesus said, “Let one who has found the world, and has become wealthy, renounce the world.”
Renouncing the world is similar to the teaching of Buddhism. To enter Nirvana or enter Kingdom of God, one must renounce the world.

@fahimlg The Truth in neither christian nor islamic. The truth was truth before either one of these religions appeared. The Buddha as well as many others, realized it and shared it openly. I have no doubt that Jesus spoke of truth and Mohamed as well but the religions end up being political entities often more interested in power than anything else. Jesus challenged the Jewish priests and I suspect Mohammed did the same but in the end the message gets perverted and again the priests take over.

The nature of Jesus the Christ, whether he's human or divine, will never get settled, unless one believes that we are from God, we have the spark of God, hence we are also God, though we have not realized it. The Buddhists are closer to the truth, that we are also God, though we have strayed from the path. So it's not only Jesus that is divine, also us. The only difference is, like Buddha, he is enlightened. He broke thru the illusion, that's why he did not suffer on the cross.

@207112351....my parents were born catholics and i was raised as one...i live in a city and grew up with muslim friends..my great granddad was muslim but for apparent reasons my maternal side of family lost in touch with the faith,though half of my relative still partice Islam and im lucky enough to say I have the "best of both worlds"...A muslim friends of mine had been encouraging me to convert to their faith..what i said to them was..if i am to convert,the decision should come from my heart..

So it is obligatory for the people to follow this new messenger and support him, even if they were followers of the old one which he himself was a messenger too, but since his message is no longer valid they should take with the new one which is the original.
so this is the whole story, and now the Final messenger sent by God after Jesus PBUH is Muhammad PBUH. While believing in all the Prophets God sent and in the 1 message, we should take the religion now God had reveled on his messenger.
